Gabriel Dumont also had a goal and an assist for Hamilton (21-22-4), while Maxime Macenauer, Mike Blunden and Christian Thomas also scored. Sven Andrighetto chipped in with two assists. Mike Hoffman scored twice for the East division-leading Senators (29-15-4), Andre Petersson had a goal and an assist, and Shane Prince added the other. Bulldogs goaltender Robert Mayer made 36 saves for the win. Nathan Lawson started in net for the Senators, but lasted only 20 minutes before giving way to Andrew Hammond. Lawson stopped 6 of 7 shots he faced, while Hammond gave up four goals on 33 shots for the loss. Binghamton opened the scoring with three straight goals in the first period before Blunden connected with a power-play goal at 18:48 of the first. Hamilton responded with two more goals to tie the game by the midway point of the second period. Peterssons power-play goal at 19:02 of the second gave the Senators the 4-3 edge, but Thomas replied with his seventh of the season at 15:16 of the third to force the extra frame. ANAHEIM, Calif. Nike Run Shoes Online . -- There was a lot of grumbling in the Los Angeles Angels clubhouse following Garrett Richards latest strong performance. Richards won his sixth decision in seven starts and had a career-high 11 strikeouts Sunday, leading the surging Angels to a 6-1 victory over the Houston Astros and completing a four-game sweep that extended Los Angeles home winning streak to 10 games. But when the pitchers and reserves for the AL All-Star team were announced after the game, Richards name wasnt among them. He could still get the final spot on the squad through fan voting on the Internet. "Its a little disappointing," Richards said. "Theres still a chance, and its an honour just to be considered. If it happens, it happens. But Im more concerned with the second half of the season, to be honest. Ill take a World Series over an All-Star game any day." Richards (10-2) allowed six hits over 7 1-3 innings, including an RBI single by Carlos Corporan in the seventh. The right-hander has a 1.45 ERA in his last seven outings and has allowed no more than four hits in six of them. "Its the same thing Ive been doing all year -- getting ahead of hitters with the fastball and breaking ball, putting guys away with two strikes, throwing quality strikes and just attacking guys," Richards said. "Im happy with the work Ive put in so far, but the seasons only halfway over. Ive had a pretty good first half. But more importantly, were playing good baseball as a team right now." Richards strikeout total was the highest by an Angels pitcher since June 18 last season, when Joe Blanton fanned 11 in a no-decision against Seattle at Anaheim. "I think the skys the limit for Garrett," pitching coach Mike Butcher said. "You look at the stuff, and hes got undeniable stuff -- a mid-90s fastball that cuts and sinks, a power slider that has great depth to it, good action and commands it in the zone very well. Hes got one of the better curveballs in the game and a changeup that is still developing -- but hes getting a feel for that, too." Albert Pujols drove in two runs with a bases-loaded single and Kole Calhoun homered, helping the Angels go 15 games over .500 for the first time since ending the 2012 season at 89-73. They swept a four-game set at home for the first time since July 2011 against Seattle and are 21-3 at the "Big A" since May 17 -- their best 24-game stretch at home in franchise history. "Were playing good ball," centre fielder Mike Trout said. "Were pitching well and our timely hittings been pretty good lately. Were having great at-bats and not trying to do too much." Joe Thatcher, obtained in a trade from Arizona on Saturday, threw one pitch in his Angels debut and gave up a one-out single in the eighth by Jason Castro. But Mike Morin finished the inning with a diving catch of Jon Singletons popup after first baseman C. J. Cron collided with catcher Hank Conger to the right of the mound, knocking the ball out of Congers mitt. "When it first went up into that tough sky, I just kept drifting and started creeping back a bit more than I should have," Conger said. "Then I kind of heard C.J. at the last minute. I felt like I fell into a brick wall. I dont like to give pitchers too much respect, fielding-wise, but I told Mike: Nice catch." Collin McHugh (4-8) gave up three runs -- two earned -- and four hits through four innings before leaving with a broken nail on his middle finger. The right-hander walked two and struck out four in his third start against the Angels this year, becoming the first pitcher in Astros history to get at least four strikeouts in each of his first 14 starts of a season. The Angels loaded the bases in the third when McHugh gave up singles by Conger and Calhoun, and hit Trout on the left biceps with a first-pitch fastball. Pujols stroked a two-run single to left field to open the scoring. Until that hit, the three-time NL MVP was 0 for 13 this season in bases-loaded situations. Trout then scored from second on a throwing error by second baseman Jose Altuve, who was trying to complete a double play on Josh Hamiltons grounder to shortstop Marwin Gonzalez. "We didnt play well. But at the same time, the Angels played real well," manager Bo Porter said. "We didnt help ourselves. When you look at the number of strikeouts and the way we played these last four games, they pretty much took it to us in every aspect of the game. "Right now were in a rut, and we have not played well. But nobody is going to feel sorry for you. Its up to the men in this clubhouse. These are the guys that we have and those are the guys were going to run out there. Its going to be up to us to rectify what it is we have going." Calhoun added his ninth homer in the seventh against David Martinez, who was pitching his third inning after getting recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City. The Angels tacked on two more runs in the eighth against Chad Qualls. NOTES: Trout, heading to his third straight All-Star game, said he will not participate in the All-Star Home Run Derby. ... Pujols two RBIs raised his career total to 1,555, tying Willie McCovey for 41st place all-time. ... Hamilton was 2 for 15 with no RBIs and eight strikeouts in the series, after going 29 for 89 with nine homers and 17 RBIs in his previous 25 games against the Astros since the start of last season. ... Altuve, who began the day leading Texas Adrian Beltre by three percentage points in the AL batting race, got his league-leading 122nd hit and needs two more in the Astros next six games to break Bob Watsons 1973 franchise record for hits before the All-Star break. ... Astros rookie RF George Springer struck out all four times up, increasing his AL-worst total to 105. ... Altuve stole his 25th consecutive base in the sixth inning, the longest streak by an Astro since 2004, when Carlos Beltran swiped 28 in a row. A battle of former Cy Young Award winners is on tap to close out the first half on Sunday afternoon, as the Toronto Blue Jays and the Tampa Bay Rays square off for a rubber match of a three-game set at Tropicana Field. Adidas Ultra Boost Baratas . The Blue Jays send R.A. Dickey to the hill. The knuckleballer is 7-8 on the campaign with a 3.86 ERA, and hes pitched as well as he has all season of late, boasting a 1.20 ERA in 15 innings in July. Dickey earned his first win in more than a month his last time out, pitching seven scoreless innings against the Angels, allowing just four hits and a walk while striking out five. "When you have a good game, you certainly want to rejoice over that (but) not get too far ahead of yourself," Dickey said. The 39-year-old veteran lost his only other start against Tampa Bay this season way back on Opening Day, yielding five hits, six walks and six earned runs in five innings. For the Rays, David Price will attempt to end his first half on a high note. Price, an AL All-Star for the fourth time in his career, is 8-7 with a 3.42 ERA while owning the MLBs best strikeout (159) to walk (20) ratio. Price, who was scratched from his scheduled start on Saturday due to illness, has won three consecutive starts, most recently throwing 8 2/3 innings against the Tigers on July 6, giving up seven hits and three earned runs. The southpaw has dominated the Blue Jays during his career, going 14-2 with a 2.45 ERA. Tampa Bay was able to even the series on Saturday afternoon with a convincing 10-3 victory. The score was tied at 2-2 going into the bottom of the sixth inning before the Rays exploded for six runs to break the game open. Kevin Kiermaier went 3-for-4 with three RBI out of the leadoff spot. Matt Joyce also had three RBI, while James Loney, Brandon Guyer and Yunel Escobar all finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Jake Odorizzi (5-8) pitched well stepping in to Prices slot in the rotation, striking out seven in 6 2/3 innings while allowing two earned runs. Drew Hutchinson (6-8) was solid until the sixth inning, and he left having allowed six hits, five walks and six earned runs in 5 1/3 innings of work. Dioner Navarro went 2-for-4 with an RBI as the only Blue Jay with a multi-hit game. Toronto had won four in a row versus Tampa Bay and six of eight in the season series. Maybe all season I have to take a few blows. When football historians tell the story of the hurricane that battered England in the form of Chelsea forward Diego Costa, they might pinpoint this week as the moment when admiration started to sour into disdain.By stamping on the ankle of Liverpools Emre Can, Costa took ownership of the Premier Leagues unofficial title of No. 1 Bad Boy that Luis Suarez vacated when he started afresh with Barcelona this season. As Suarez showed in three-plus years of thick and thin at Liverpool, when he was both adored and pilloried, often rightly so, a bad reputation can become a heavy load to bear, for both a player and his team.Life both on and off the pitch will change — by how much will depend partly on his behaviour going forward — for Costa when he returns in two weeks from the three-match ban handed down Friday that will keep the Premier League top scorer from one of the pivotal games this season: Chelsea against title rival Manchester City on Saturday.Having seen how the Brazil-born, street-hardened striker pulled the wool over the eyes of their colleague Michael Oliver, who missed the stamp that cameras caught, referees will be even more acutely aware that Costa needs watching.More than ever, the scrutiny will be not on the beauty of his football, but on his ugly tricks and brittle temperament, too. To try to make his self-destructive impulses boil again, opposing fans and players can be counted on to give Costa an even more torrid time. The elephant man chants directed at Costa by Liverpool fans could give way to spikier taunts. Opposing players will be encouraged and prepared to give as rough as they get from the uncompromising, crafty and physical Spain international. And rabid voices in the sports media, already calling him Dirty Diego and monster, will be ready to slobber fresh demonization and gleefully dismantle another idol they helped create the next time Costas slow-burning aggression bubbles over.As it surely will.Treading Chelseas Kings Road cant wash out the Brazilian streets that were Costas school of football to his mid-teens, shaping him into the slippery bruiser with quick feet whose combination of rough and smooth, of brutishness and skill, of instinct and intelligence, so appeals to Jose Mourinho, the Chelsea manager with many of the same qualities. Adidas NMD Baratas. As with some dogs and their owners, they are starting to resemble each other. Bark, bite and then deal with the consequences. There is a downside of never having a formal education, Costa said in a BT Sport television interview last year. Theres also advantages, though. You learn about the tricks of the game quicker and you become smarter by playing on the streets against older guys.Stomping on Can wasnt smart. But it was in keeping with Costas habit of making clear early in games that he is a force to be reckoned with. Can was one of Liverpools best defensive players in the 10 opening minutes of the second leg of the League Cup semifinal on Tuesday. Only coincidence, then, that it was his right ankle Costa trod on? Mourinho said this was an accident. But if it looks like a stamp, aches like a stamp, and leaves a player writhing like a stamp, then it probably is a stamp. This much is certain: Costa made no deliberate effort not to land on Can.Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini expressed hope that the three-match ban for violent conduct might help change Costa. But not, hopefully, change him too much. Costas rough edges, the blend of bad and good, make him box office. Will he score? Start a fight? Or both? The tingle of anticipating what Costa might do next is making him the most entertaining Premier League player this season. Even as he torments them with goals and doggedness, fans and players not wearing Chelsea blue would give hind teeth to have Costa on their team. That said, the line between being edgy and a boor is a thin one. At Liverpool, a ban for racial abuse and his penchant for biting opponents made Suarez more trouble than he was worth. The club misses his goals but its image is better with him gone.Costa and Chelsea need to dial back before he also gets to that point.___John Leicester is an international sports columnist for The Associated Press. VANCOUVER -- More than four years after the Olympic flame went out on the West Coast, the Vancouver Organizing Committee released its final reports Thursday and turned out the lights. Homme Nike Air Vapormax Noir et Blanche . VANOC said the Games broke even, with total revenues and expenses just shy of $1.9 billion. The group that organized the 2010 Winter Olympics and Paralympics has no more assets or outstanding debts and has asked government to dissolve the company. "It was 11 years ago yesterday we took the stage in Prague and we made promises," CEO John Furlong said in an interview. "We made commitments in the name of the country, we made commitments to the IOC and we made commitments to the Canadian public that we would deliver the Games in the black and so we set out to do that." It was a challenging journey, he said, pointing out the global economic collapse in 2008. "I think that worried us," Furlong said. With the Sochi Games in the not-so-distant past and fresh concerns about the World Cup in Brazil, Furlong said there has been much discussion about the cost of such large events and the difficulties some countries have had. "I look at our situation and think we are a very good model of how to do these events. This is, to me, very good for the Canada brand of being reliable, being trustworthy, keeping your promises, being on time and on budget, being responsible about the things that really matter to the public," he said. At the end of the day, the final financial report said the federal government contributed $74.4 million, the British Columbia government $113.4 million and other governments $176 million. The International Olympic Committee kicked in $659 million in sponsorships and contributions to help cover the tab. Ticket sales raised $269 million, while licensing and merchandising accounted for another $54 million. An independent audit by Ernst and Young confirmed the results. The final financial statement said all sites have been remediated and turned over to the province and local governments as legacy venues and the organizing committee asked government to dissolve the company after its final meeting on June 27. The final report said several claims and disputed contracts have been resolved since the event, along with an 18-month coroners review of the Whistler Sliding Centre, where a Georgian luger was killed in a training accident. Critics point out that some of the most expensive infrastructure of the Games, including the Sea to Sky Highway, the Vancouver Convention Centre and a rapid transit line to the airport were not included in the final tally. The expansion of the Vancouver Convention Centre cost $883 million, $388 million over budget. The SkyTrains Canada Line linking Vancouver to the airport cost $2.1 billion. But Furlong said all the buildings and infrastructure are currently in use and board chairman Ken Dobell said the Games left a debt-free legacy for the country. "First of all, it cost what it was supposed to cost," Dobell said. Significant capital upgrades were made that had to happen sooner or later, and the host communities now have recreation and community facilities for residents. "Was it a worthwhile endeavour? The way Vancouver did it, for sure," he said. Chief prosecutor Gerrie Nel also accused Pistorius of tailoring his testimony to fit the evidence at the scene. Pistorius denied the accusations. Nel alleged that the Olympic runner changed his aim with his 9 mm pistol to ensure that he hit Steenkamp as she fell back against a magazine rack in a toilet cubicle. With a talented quarterback and an impressive free agency we ask if the Jacksonville Jaguars are ready to make a push for the NFL play-offs. Adidas Tubular x For Sale . The NFL off-season is a great time to look ahead and assess the quality of each franchise and work out what would be considered a success for the upcoming season. This is no more relevant than in Jacksonville where owner Shahid Khan, who also owns Championship club Fulham, has stated that the Jags must be significantly better, and that a winning record is everybodys reasonable expectation at this point. The Jaguars have been rebuilding for the last three years, having drafted a quarterback and growing the team around him. With that in mind, Sky Sports takes a look at the reasons for optimism and realism for Jags fans.Free agent moves Super Bowl 50 winner Malik Jackson was an eye-catching addition in free agency The Jaguars were active early in free agency; they had to be. There were a number of holes to fill, particularly on their defence, which finished 24th in yards allowed last season. The marquee signing of Super Bowl winning defensive end Malik Jackson, as well as the arrival of Tashaun Gipson, Prince Amukamara and Kelvin Beachum, can help to shore up a team that has struggled to pressure opposition quarterbacks. On the offensive side of the ball, the Jaguars signed running back Chris Ivory from the Jets which gives them a powerful alternative to promising talent TJ Yeldon. Chris Ivory has swapped the Jets for the Jaguars However they did miss out on a couple of big splashes. Having offered a contract to Olivier Vernon, they were blown out of the water by the Giants, who landed the DE on a staggering $85m contract. The Jags are also still without a centre, with free agent Steven Wisniewski leaving for his hometown club Pittsburgh Steelers, and target Alex Mack signing with the Falcons.  There is a little more work to be done, but another good draft and Jacksonville will feel happy going into training camp.Draft PicksWith the fifth overall pick in this years draft, the Jaguars have the opportunity to land a supreme talent. They will most likely keep focus on the defensive rebuild, with a huge array of talent on offer.Potentials include cornerback Jalen Ramsey, defensive end Joey Bosa, and linebacker Myles Jack. Jack, widely considered the most talented player available, missed the majority of last season with a serious knee injury and as a result, could fall to number five. After a strong free agency, aside from centre the Jags have no positions of absolute need, so have the freedom to select the best overall talent available. A franchise QB? Blake Bortles is starting to live up to his vast promise The Jaguars were a much improved offensive unit in 2015, and the maturation of Blake Bortles is a major factor behind that. Heading into his third year, Bortles is looking to top his 35-touchdown 2015 season, and must reduce the number of interceptions thrown to prove he can be an elite level QB.With another season under his belt to gel with the weapons around him, Bortles will be keen to kick on and prove himself among the most promising passers in the NFL.The loss of Wisniewski will be a blow to Bortles, who will play next season with his third different centre in three years. The trust between the two positions is integral to a successful offence, and it may be a case of drafting a top choice in the early rounds.  A cautionary taleAround this time last year, Bortles was heralded as the best rookie QB of the year before, the Jags had added Pro Bowl tight end Julius Thomas, and went on to draft highly rated Dante Fowler Jr.A few months later, Fowler was out for the season, Thomas missed the first four games and the Jags finished up with another losing record (5-11).Although it all seems rosy for Jacksonville at this moment in time, it is worth considering that it is only April. If coach Gus Bradley can put all the pieces of the jigsaw together and have the team playing in September, then we can start to look at this team with a view to the play-offs.  Also See: NFL Video Rookies guide NFL on Sky Sports Pundits Adidas Ultra Boost Burgundy/Pink/Orange Womens . - After sewage backups, toilet overflows and foul smells surfaced the past two years, nothing at the Oakland Coliseum surprises the home team anymore. Billy Butler singled to right on a 1-2 pitch with two outs in the sixth, leaving him with a .432 career average in 74 at-bats against the Detroit ace. With plenty of Super Rugby action ahead this weekend, we look at some of the stars who could feature against the home nations in the June tours on Sky Sports. Nike Shox TLX . Wales head to New Zealand next month to take on world champions New Zealand, while England are in Australia to face the Wallabies in their three-Test tour.Ireland head for South Africa where the Springboks and new coach Allister Coetzee await, while the Boks bogey side from the World Cup, Japan, host Vern Cotters Scotland. With the tours around the corner, we take a look at this weekends Super Rugby action and pick out some stars who could play in June.Ryan Crotty (Crusaders v Waratahs - Friday from 8.30am on Sky Sports 1)After winning the World Cup the All Blacks said goodbye to one of the best midfield pairings of the modern era as Maa Nonu and Conrad Smith headed to France from Twickenham. Crusaders Ryan Crotty score a hat-trick against the Lions Missing out on that tournament was Crotty, edged out of the squad by Sonny Bill Williams and Malakai Fekitoa, who took the remaining centre spots. However, Crotty is now poised to build on his 15 international caps by stepping into the vacant No 12 jersey, after Williams declared himself unavailable for selection with an eye on the Rio Olympics later in the year. With New Zealand at the top of rugbys proverbial tree in both ranking and silverware, the competition for places is typically stiff, and the Chiefs Charlie Ngatai has voiced his international ambitions with some blistering form in this years Super Rugby competition. However, Crotty is seen as the ultimate team man, and his loyalty to club and country should see the 27-year-old start the first Test against Wales, with Fekitoa his likely midfield partner.Akihito Yamada (Reds v Sunwolves - Saturday from 6am on Sky Sports 3)Yamadas first-half hat-trick against the Cheetahs in round three was almost enough to earn the Sunwolves an historic first win in Super Rugby, but the Bloemfontein side fought back for a 32-31 victory in Singapore. Sunwolves Akihito Yamada scores a hat-trick against the Cheetahs The Sunwolves did eventually claim their first win, against the Jaguares in round nine, and it was just reward for a hard-fought maiden campaign for the Japanese side. One of the stars of their show has been Japan wing Yamada, who tops the overall Super Rugby try-scoring charts with eight scores. His closest rivals are the likes of Damian McKenzie, Lionel Mapoe and Israel Folau, who are all in franchises that are winning games. The fact that Yamada is the most prolific scorer in the tournament so far despite playing for a team that has lost all but one match is a testament to his finishing.Damian McKenzie (Chiefs v Rebels - Saturday from 8.30am on Sky Sports 4)McKenzies credentials have been the topic of many debates in the southern hemisphere as he competes with Ben Smith, Israel Dagg and Beauden Barrett for the All Blacks No 15 jersey. Damian McKenzie is nicknamed the smiling assassin for his unique build-up to kicks at goal. New Zealand are not known for rushing a player onto the international scene if hes not ready, but equally are not shy to pick players who are in form ahead of established stars, so McKenzie could well feature against Wales next month.Three years ago McKenzie was playing schoolboy rugby, and now the 21-year-old is among conversations around the future of the All Blacks. The Invercargill-born man is capable of playing fly-half, but with Chiefs team-mate Aaron Cruden likely to take that jersey in the New Zealand team and Barrett next in line for it, McKenzies likely best bet is to stay at full-back.Nicknamed the Smiling Assassin for his unusual pre-kick ritual, his sidestep has been the undoing of seasoned campaigners throughout the year.George Moala (Western Force v Blues - Saturday from 10.30 on Sky Sports 4) George Moala shows the Blues how to tackle hard Moala made a try-scoring debut for the All Blacks against Samoa in Apia last year, but since then has been unable to add to his Test caps. The 25-year-old is able to play on the wing or in the midfield, and though he would have to impress to get the nod ahead of some of the more established All Blacks, there is definite pedigree in his rugby. A loss of form earlier in this years campaign saw him put on the bench, but Blues coach Tana Umaga has brought him back into the mix, and he will be hoping to impress Steve Hansen after the All Black coach paid a visit to the Blues training ground late last month.Lionel Mapoe (Lions v Jaguares - Saturday from 2pm on Sky Sports 1 via the Red Button)Mapoe has played two minutes of international rugby, coming onto the field in the closing stages of the Springboks 27-20 loss to New Zealand in the 2015 Rugby Championship. But after the year hes had, that looks set to change.Mapoe scored a hat-trick in the Lions 43-5 thrashing of the Blues last weekend, and drew praise from Blues boss Tana Umaga. Lions Lionel Mapoe scores a hat-trick against the Blues. Lionel is another thats playing very well on the outside of a backline thats doing well this year, said Umaga after the game.A midfielder as big as he is gets them over the gain line and he runs good lines.Mapoe will be hoping hes caught the eye of new coach Allister Coetzee as well as that of Umaga.Jean-Luc du Preez (Sharks v Kings - Saturday from 4.05pm on Sky Sports 1 via the Red Button)Its tough to tell Daniel and Jean-Luc du Preez apart at the best of times, and in rugby terms its no different. The sons of former South Africa international Robert du Preez have made waves in the Sharks pack in their debut season, with strong ball-carrying a key component of their game. The pair were involved in the 2014 Junior World Cup and featured in Craven Week - South Africas premier Under 18 provincial tournament - for an impressive three years. Jean-Luc du Preez powers through the Western Province defence in the Currie Cup. To add to the confusion the pair have an older brother, Robert Jr, who is making a name for himself at the Stormers at fly-half.Still only 20 years old, it may be a season too early for Daniel or Jean-Luc to be included in Allister Coetzees first year in charge, but both stand an outside chance of making an international bow in June.Pieter-Stef du Toit (Bulls v Stormers - Saturday from 6.10pm on Sky Sports 1 via the Red Button)Anyone who celebrated the end of the era in which Bakkies Botha and Victor Matfield played second row for club and country for over a decade, look away - there is a new lock pairing in South Africa that is gathering steam.Eben Etzebeth has found that his feet quite comfortably fill the shoes of Bok enforcer Botha, while the man next to him in the engine room, Du Toit, is fast becoming the new Matfield in the way he unlocks and infiltrates opposition lineouts. Pieter-Stef du Toit scores a brace of tries against the Waratahs. Add Cheetahs lock Lood de Jager into the mix and youve got a good stock of second rowers coming through the South African system. At 24, Etzebeth is the oldest of them.Du Toit made a name for himself at the Sharks, graduating from their academy to become an integral part of their grizzly forward unit, before moving to the Stormers where he has established an unwavering partnership with Etzebeth.Though De Jager won plaudits for his performance at last years World Cup, former Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer handed Du Toit his international debut, describing him as a future great of the Springboks. Nick Davies, who was chief-of-staff to International Association of Athletics Federations President Lord Coe, was suspended along with his wife Jane Boulter-Davies and IAAF medical manager Pierre-Yves Garnier.Davies stood down from his role six months ago pending the investigation into a potential breach of the IAAFs code of ethics, and at the time denied any wrongdoing. Davies, his wife, an IAAF education official, and Garnier did not immediately respond to email requests for comment. The IAAF said it had not received a response to the suspensions from any of the trio. The Ethics Board said the suspensions, which will run for 180 days from June 10, had been imposed to protect the integrity of the sport but do not prejudice the outcome of the investigations. It said the case related to an email reportedly sent by former IAAF consultant Papa Massata Diack to his father and then-IAAF president Lamine Diack in July 2013. The email, reported by the French daily Le Monde, allegedly showed that the three were in receipt of, or had knowledge of, a cash payment to withhold details of attempted cover-ups of Russian doping cases.Other emails leaked by Le Monde showed Davies had discussed with Papa Diack developing a media strategy to limit the news impact of a series of positive tests by Russian athletes ahead of 2013 the Moscow world athletics championships. Nick Davies (right) with IAAF presideent Sebastian Coe Davies said that the mail was merely brainstorming for a media strategy and that he had done nothing wrong. Papa Diack has denied any involvement in bribery or corruption and says his father Lamine is also innocent. French authorities are investigating the elder Diack, who Coe replaced as IAAF president in August, on charges of corruption and money laundering.IAAF Ethics Board chairman Michael Beloff said Fridays suspensions were decided after the board determined that there was a prima facie case to answer that warranted investigation. The Ethics Board statement said Davies, a former IAAF general secretary and head of communications, received an undisclosed cash payment in 2013 from Papa Massata Diack, the circumstances and concealment of which call into question whether the payment was intended to have and/or in fact produced any manipulative effect.Boulter-Davies allegedly received, or knew about, a payment to Davies. Garnier allegedly received an undisclosed cash payment at the direction of Lamine Diack and retained some part of the sum even when aware of its apparent impropriety. The Ethics Board is also investigating whether Davies and Boulter-Davies misled the Board during its previous investigation into the matter.Russia is currently banned from all athletics following revelations of widespread state-sponsored doping and next Friday the IAAF Council meets in Vienna to decide whether to lift that ban and allow its track and field athletes to compete at the Rio Olympics in August.  Also See: GB medal haul may swell Russia makes dopinng reforms Photo Galleries Team GB Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys Jerseys From China Wholesale NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys ' ' '

LOS ANGELES -- Big Apple equals big prices when it comes to buying a Stanley Cup final ticket on the secondary market. Air Max 2018 Scontate . SeatGeek, an aggregator for the secondary ticket market, reports a "very high" demand for tickets in both Los Angeles and New York. "But theres a huge difference between the two cities," SeatGeek spokesman Connor Gregoire said Tuesday from New York. "Its much more a sellers market in New York." The average ticket price for Games 1 and 2 in Los Angeles is about US$800, with the cheapest going for $400, according to Gregoire. In New York, the average price for Games 3 and 4 is $1,800, with the cheapest at $1,000. "Its actually cheaper, say youre a Rangers fan in New York, for you to book a last-minute round-trip flight to L.A., stay in a hotel, buy two tickets to Game 1 or 2," said Gregoire. "Youd actually save money doing that versus buying two tickets in New York." Cameron Papp, a spokesman for ticket reseller StubHub, quoted an average price for Game 1 in Los Angeles at around $760 with Game 3 in New York at about $1,500. "New York actually hasnt seen a title in a while," he said from San Francisco. "A lot of fans are excited about it and thats whats driving up demand for this Stanley Cup final." Seeing the Rangers is a tough ticket during the regular season. Add pent-up demand due to a 20-year absence from the Cup final and New Yorkers desire to see a winner and you have a recipe for a sticker shock. Plus there are sports fans with some deep pockets there. They need them. Face value for most Rangers Cup final tickets start at $450 with an average of $750, according to Gregoire. Ice-level seats at Madison Square Garden can exceed $1,000. Rangers forward Derek Stepan says the good news for him is that most people understand that he cant help them with tickets. "Theres not too many people that are reaching out because they know that in this situation, that its going to be family only," he said. "It is crazy though," he said of the demand for tickets. Would he pay $1,800 for a ticket? "Me? I love the game," he said. "Id pay for it." SeatGeek, established in September 2009, has only seen one event with more ticket sizzle -- the Super Bowl earlier this year in the New York/New Jersey area. The average price for that Super Bowl on the secondary ticket market was $2,500. "So youre getting pretty close to that stratosphere," Gregoire said, referring to the Cup final. He believes this Cup final could equal that Super Bowl mark if the Rangers have a shot at closing out the series in Game 4 or 6. "Youre going to see a huge spike in prices," he said. And Game 6 tickets are already averaging $2,300. "Its pretty much there, at Super Bowl levels already." As of Tuesday afternoon, StubHub had 2,750 seats on offer for both Game 1 in Los Angeles and Game 4 in New York, with the number going down. Gregoire said usually 20 to 25 per cent of the arena is available on secondary outlets. The SeatGeek spokesman says if you have the cash and the desire to go to the final, dont wait. "Normally tickets on the secondary market come down in price, especially the last day of the game when sellers are happy to take whatever they can get for their tickets. But in the Stanley Cup finals or championship series in any sport really, theres so much demand ... fans are sort of out of luck if theyre hoping to score a last-minute bargain-basement deal." The Rangers are always a good draw, says Papp. This year, they were third behind the Blackhawks and Bruins on the StubHub sales table. "Its a pretty hot ticket, especially when the Knicks arent doing so well," he added. The Kings have also proved to be popular. Papp says two years ago Game 4 in Los Angeles Staples Center was StubHubs highest-selling Stanley Cup game of all-time. "Were going to see some demand from Los Angeles too. I just think its a little early." In other words, Kings fans are coming off their Game 7 win in Chicago while Rangers fans have had time to mull over buying tickets since eliminated the Canadiens late last week. As for StubHub, its hoping for a long series. "We always like more games," Papp said with a laugh. "Hopefully its going to be a great series." Jason Zucker and Matt Cooke also scored for Minnesota, which has won five of six. Kuemper made five saves in the first, nine in the second, and nine in the third. The rookies best save came with 2:17 left in the third period when he denied former Wild forward Matt Cullen from just outside of the crease on the right side. Coming off a 6-0 drubbing at Chelsea on Saturday, Arsenal endured another demoralizing result after rallying for a 2-1 lead -- only to concede a fluke equalizer. Michel Therrien is keeping everyone guessing as to what lineup he will go with in Game 3 tonight against the Bruins. Following his teams optional morning skate, Therrien would only confirm that Rene Bourque, who missed practice yesterday with the flu, will play. Mike Weaver spent yesterday paired up with Douglas Murray instead of Francis Bouillon, indicating Murray could make his post-season debut tonight, which will give the Canadiens a little more size against a physical Bruins team. Up front, there are also question marks surrounding the potential forwards who will dress. Travis Moen missed the first round of the playoffs with a concussion and made his return in Game 1 of this series, but Therrien decided to go with Michael Bournival over Moen last Saturday, a move to bring more speed to the Canadiens line up. “Its nnever fun to sit out especially in the playoffs,” Moen said Tuesday morning. Air Max 2018 Donna. . “You want to help your team win, but it was a decision and you have to live with it, hopefully I can play tonight.” With the absence of Bourque at practice yesterday, Ryan White was practicing as the centre on the fourth line. White has yet to play a game in the playoffs this year and will have to wait and see if his name gets called tonight. Even though the Canadiens have said that Brandon Prust is healthy, his play doesnt indicate it. At practice on Monday, Prust was no longer on his usual line and instead was skating extra forward alon side George Parros. Therrien refused to comment on the status of individual players, nut it is obvious Prust hasnt been himself since returning from an upper body injury. VANCOUVER -- While Vancouver Canucks fans demand change, new coach Willie Desjardins is preaching a status-quo approach -- with himself. Mens/Womens Asics Tiger Aaron Low Sneakers White/Green H50XJ-9984 . After spending more than two decades attempting to become an NHL head coach, and with training camp in Whistler, B.C., two weeks away, he is vowing not to change his style behind the bench. "One thing I learned is, youve gotta be who you are," said Desjardins, 57, the new Canucks coach, after taking part in a Vancouver Board of Trade luncheon Tuesday. "You cant be somebody youre not. (Otherwise), it just falls apart on you." Desjardins reached the NHL this spring after helping the Texas Stars win the AHL title. He has also spent time in the Canadian university and junior ranks, winning championships at both levels, while also serving a two-season stint as a Dallas Stars assistant. Fans want a significant improvement in the standings after the team missed the playoffs for the first time since 2008 last season. Desjardins, who finds it "unbelievable" that his long-held dream of guiding an NHL clubs training camp is about to come true, suggested that chances of a Canucks turnaround are better than many people might think. "You just get to see the quality of people," Desjardins told reporters. "Sometimes, when you get into something, you go: Oh, what I have I gotten into? But thats not the case here." During the luncheon with 400 members of the local business community -- as well as Canucks president of hockey operations Trevor Linden and team GM Jim Benning -- Desjardins shed some light on what fans can expect from the veteran-laden Canucks. In one notable change, contrary to the views of former Vancouver coach John Tortorella, who was fired after one season, Daniel and Henrik Sedin are likely to spend less time killing penalties. "We have to share the workload," said Desjardins. "I dont think were going to make the playoffs with one line being shut down. Theyre good at all aspects of the game. Theyre good at killing penalties and theyre good five-on-five. They can play the power play. I think youre lucky to have players like that. For us, we want to make sure that theyre able to go (and) at the end of the game, theyre still fresh and theyre playing hard. So that may mean managing their minutes a little bit. We want to play with four lines." Henrik and Daniel, both former NHL most valuable players, managed to produce only 50 and 47 points, respectively, last season. Daniel also endured a lengthy goal drought while both battled injuries after seeing their playing time increased. Desjardinss view on the Sedins reflects the desire of the new top brass to have the Canucks rely on their veterans. Key additions include centre Nick Bonino and defenceman Luca Sbisa, who were acquired via trade from Anaheim for Ryan Kesler. Vancouver also added veteran wingers Radim Vrbata and goaltender Ryan Miller, who were signed as free agents. Benning, who replaced former president and GM Mike Gillis, said he, Linden and Desjardins have focused this summer on finding support for the veteran core. "Therell be many challenges for throughout the season, but I think weve tried to do everything that we could at this point to make the team deeper and give them more enthusiasm so they play with more energy," said Benning. The Canucks lack of depth showed last season as the NHL veterans and minor-league callups could not make up sufficiently for declines in offence from the Sedins and others when injuries and poor play took their toll. "We talked about maybe there wasnt the depth that we needed to counter those injuries going into that last stretch of the year," said Benning. "So we tried to add to our depth this summer. Now, we dont have to rush young players, and we can let them develop properly and be ready to come up and play when we call them up to play." During the luncheon, questions focused more on hockey than the clubs business issues. But the Canucks, used to perennial sellouts, are also trying to bolster their bottom line with more on-ice success. Linden told reporters that season ticket sales are "down a few percentage points." But he expects them to pick up as training camp creates more excitement about the team. Asics Gel Kayano 20 Womens .J. The club says its first-choice centre back "underwent medical tests on Wednesday morning" which confirmed he has injured his right hamstring. The injury was caused in the second minute of Tuesdays 4-1 league win over Real Sociedad in the Camp Nou when teammate Sergio Busquets accidentally struck Mascherano just above the knee with an outstretched boot.PHILADELPHIA - A pair of victories made a long day for the Braves pretty enjoyable. Ryan Doumit homered and Tommy La Stella had two doubles and drove in two runs to lead the Atlanta Braves to a doubleheader sweep of the Philadelphia Phillies with a 5-1 victory in the nightcap Saturday. La Stella hit a three-run triple in Atlantas 10-3 win in the opener. Chris Johnson had three hits with an RBI and Justin Upton had two hits and drove in a run for the Braves, who have won five of six. Atlanta finished with 13 hits in the nightcap and had a combined 15 runs and 20 hits on the day. "Its a long day, definitely a long day and its not something you look forward to, playing two in one day," Johnson said. "But to come out with two wins, you cant complain at all." Cameron Rupp had two hits with a double for the slumping Phillies, who have lost seven of nine. Philadelphia totalled four runs in the two games and now have scored three runs or less 41 times, dropping to 7-34 in those contests. The Phillies also fell to 18-26 at hitter-friendly Citizens Bank Park, where they entered Saturday batting .229 as a team. "We had tough going on the offensive side and couldnt get anything going," Philadelphia manager Ryne Sandberg said. "Its disappointing. We came in with some momentum, but the last three games it was lack of offence and not many good plays on defence. We have to do things differently, we have to score more runs and put the pitching and defence together." Atlanta right-hander David Hale (3-2) made his first start since being moved to the bullpen on April 30 and allowed one run on four hits with three strikeouts and a walk in five innings. Anthony Varvaro, Jordan Walden and Gus Schlosser combined to pitch four scoreless innings of relief. The four pitchers limited Philadelphia to six hits. "David Hale gave us everything he had," Atlanta manager Fredi Gonzalez said. "He gave us what we wanted and gave us an opportunity." The Phillies called up Sean OSullivan (0-1) from Triple-A Lehigh Valley for a spot start and the right-hander lasted 5 2-3 innings, giving up four runs on eight hits with three strikeouts. OSullivan, who has had stints with the Angels, Royals and Padres, made his 38th big league career start. "I wouldve liked to have gone deeper in the game, but I thought I came right after them," OSullivan said. "I tried to eat as many innings as I could." Uptons RBI single in the first staked Atlanta to a 1-0 lead. The Phillies tied it in the third on Jimmy Rollins sacrifice fly before the Braves used a three-run sixth to take the lead for good. OSullivan retired the first two batters before three straight singles, the last, a run-scoring base hit to right field by Johnson, ended his night. Left-hander Mario Hollands relieved OSullivan and surrendered a two-run double to La Stella that gave the Braves a three-run lead. The Phillies got a chance in the sixth when a leadoff single by Marlon Byrd and an error by second baseman La Stella on Ryan Howards grounder put runners on first and second with no outs against Varvaro. However, unlike in the opener when two straight Howard errors in the fourth inning led to a pair of pivotal, game-tying runs, Philadelphia couldnt take advantage of Atlantas miscue. John Mayberry Jr. popped out and Cody Asche and Cesar Hernandez flew out to left. In the opener, Ervin Santana (6-5) snapped a four-game winless streak, allowing two runs on seven hits with five strikeouts and one walk in 6 2-3 innings. Santana had lost his last three starts with a 5.89 ERA in those outings. But he was strong after the first two innings, retiring nine straight during one stretch and surrendering just three hits after the second inning. "It was a great effort," Gonzalez said. "We were looking for that kind of outing to be able to save the bullpen." Said Santana, "In the first inning, a couple pitches were up. After that, I just made a good adjustment and kept the ball down for the most part." Howard made two costly errors in the fourth inning, resulting in two unearned runs that allowed the Braves to tie the game at 2. Freddie Freemans hard-hit grounder went through Howards legs and the error put runners on second and third. "It was a possible double-play ball and we wouldve been out of the inning," Sandberg said. "It changed the whole game." The next batter, Upton, hit a medium grounder to first but reached safely when Howard bobbled and then lost control of the ball. Andrelton Simmons scored on that error and Freeman, who went to third on the play, then scored on Jason Heywards groundout to first. Fans gave a sarcastic cheer when Howard made the putout. "You make an error and give teams extra opportunities, and sometimes theyll make you pay for it," Gonzalez said. "We only got two runs out of those errors, but it got us back in the game. You have to take advantage of those. If you give opportunities to good baseball teams, theyre going to get you." Atlanta then went ahead in the sixth on Uptons two-run double off the wall in left. Roberto Hernandez (3-7) didnt allow a hit through 3 1-3 innings and ended up giving up just three hits in seven innings with two strikeouts and three walks. Two of the four runs he allowed were unearned. NOTES: Evan Gattis was out of the lineup for both games on Saturday. The Braves catcher left due to back spasms after striking out swing in the first inning of Fridays game. Christian Bethancourt was called up from Triple-A Gwinnett before the game. Bethancourt, who arrived at the ballpark an hour and 15 minutes before the game, hit an infield single in the sixth for his first major-league hit. To make room for Bethancourt, the Braves sent right-hander Juan Jaime to Triple-A. ... Philadelphia Flyers goalie Steve Mason, in town for the NHL draft at the Wells Fargo Center on Friday and Saturday, was in attendance for the opener on Saturday. ... The teams will conclude their four-game series at 1:35 Sunday afternoon with Atlanta RHP Aaron Harang (6-6, 3.78) facing Philadelphia RHP David Buchanan (4-3, 4.79). Drummond took a charge from Roy Hibbert with 23.9 seconds left and then tipped in the winning shot with 0.3 seconds remaining in a 98-96 victory over the Indiana Pacers. Its been a dramatic turnaround for the Pistons since they waived Josh Smith on Dec. 22. Theyve won 10 of their last 12 games. The seven-game road win streak equals the mark set Jan. 18 - Feb. 22, 2002. Brandon Jennings led the way with a season-high 37 points for Detroit. He went 8-of-13 from 3-point range and made all nine of his foul shots. Drummond had 16 points and 16 rebounds, while Greg Monroe scored 11 and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 10. Hibbert had 14 points, while David West and Damjan Rudez each scored 13 for the Pacers, who have lost three in a row. Final Score: Memphis 106, Orlando 96 Orlando, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Jeff Green made his presence known in his second game with the Grizzlies, scoring 12 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter to lead Memphis past the pesky Orlando Magic 106-96 on Friday. Green, acquired in three-team deal on Monday, threw down a thunderous dunk over Victor Oladipo in the third quarter and added two more slams after the Magic cut their deficit to four down the stretch. All five Memphis starters finished in double figures. Marc Gasol filled the stat sheet with 12 points, 16 rebounds and eight assists, while Zach Randolph chipped in with 18 points and 12 boards. Elfrid Payton recorded the third double-double of his rookie season with 22 points and 12 assists for the Magic, who were coming off surprising wins over the Bulls and Rockets. Final Score: Philadelphia 96, New Orleans 81 Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Philadelphia 76ers were on the winning end of a blowout for a change. Nerlens Noel and Michael Carter- Williams filled the stat sheet against the short-handed New Orleans Pelicans and the Sixers led wire-to-wire in a 96-81 win Friday night, the most lopsided of their eight victories this season. The Sixers took care of the ball, going nearly two quarters without turning it over during one stretch. Their 19-point lead in the fourth quarter was a season-best. Noel had 17 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks and Carter-Williams scored 22 with seven assists and six rebounds, but neither had to contend with two of the Pelicans best players. New Orleans big man Anthony Davis sat with a sprained left toe he suffered in Wednesdays win over Detroit and point guard Jrue Holiday, the former Sixer, missed a second game with right ankle inflammation. Robert Covington scored 18 points and Luc Mbah a Moute had 13 for the Sixers, who entered the game on a two-game skid after falling to Eastern Conference division leaders Atlanta and Toronto. Final Score: Brooklyn 102, Washington 80 Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - Jarrett Jack stuffed the stat sheet and Brook Lopez shook off trade rumors and scored 26 points as the Brooklyn Nets stunned the Washington Wizards, 102-80, in the opener of a home-and-home series. Jack led Brooklyn with 26 points, seven assists and six rebounds while Lopez, who has been the topic of trade speculation this week, gave 26 in just 23 minutes off the bench. Multiple media outlets have reported discussed deals that would send Lopez, who has spent his entire career in Brooklyn, to either Charlotte or Oklahoma City. Mason Plumlee finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds for his fourth double- double in the last six games. The Nets snapped a seven-game losing skid. John Wall had 13 points and six assists for Washington, winners in five of its last six games. Kris Humphries added 12 and a team-high eight boards off the bench. Final Score: Chicago 119, Boston 103 Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - Derrick Rose had 29 points and 10 assists and Pau Gasol added 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead the short-handed Chicago Bulls to a 119-103 win over the Boston Celtics on Friday. The Central Division-leading Bulls were without big man Joakim Noah, who suffered a right ankle injury in the second quarter of Wednesdays loss to Washington and will reportedly undergo an MRI on Saturday. Still, they led for the final 18-plus minutes, pulling away with a big run in the fourth quarter to avoid what would have been a season-high third loss in a row. Jimmy Butler had 22 points in the win, which was just Chicagos second in six games since a 10-1 stretch. Jared Sullinger scored 20 points to lead the Celtics, who have dropped 11 of their last 14. Brandon Bass added 16 points and Kelly Olynyk scored 14, both off the bench. Final Score: Atlanta 110, Toronto 89 Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - The Atlanta Hawks having to enter Air Canada Centre to play the Toronto Raptors looked to be a tough test for the Eastern Conference leaders. The Hawks didnt make it look that way. Al Horford scored 22 points and helped Atlanta to its 11th straight win in a 110-89 decision over the Raptors on Friday night. Horford, who made all eight of his field goal attempts, added five rebounds and five assists for a Hawks team that also won its 11th straight road game, extending the franchise record. Atlanta has not won 11 straight overall since it did so in 1997-98. The franchise record for consecutive wins is 14 from Nov. 16-Dec. 14, 1993. Paul Millsap added 16 points with eight rebounds, while Jeff Teague registered 13 points and nine assists in the win. DeMar DeRozan, playing in his second game since a return from a groin injury, led the Raptors with 25 points. James Johnson added 17 points off the bench. Final Score: Oklahoma City 127, Golden State 115 Oklahoma City, OK (SportsNetwork.com) - The Thunder may be the odd team out in the current playoff picture, but they proved Friday they can stiill beat the NBAs best. Adidas NMD Soldes. Russell Westbrook recorded a monster triple-double, Kevin Durant scored 36 points and Serge Ibaka added 27 as Oklahoma City rolled past the Golden State Warriors 127-115 at Chesapeake Energy Arena. Westbrook finished with 17 points, 17 assists and 15 rebounds the Thunder, who were coming off Thursdays loss in Houston and entered play 3 1/2 games behind the Phoenix Suns for the eighth spot in the Western Conference. Plenty of time remains before the postseason, and a win over a Warriors squad that came in 31-5 will surely give them confidence going forward, especially since they led the entire second half. Klay Thompson paced Golden State with 32 points, but the Warriors, who played without Andrew Bogut and Andre Iguodala, were beaten handily on the glass 54-43 en route to having their eight-game winning streak snapped. Final Score: Dallas 97, Denver 89 Dallas, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Dirk Nowitzki rested Wednesday against the Nuggets and the Mavericks suffered their third defeat in four games. The bounce-back game for the veteran power forward helped Dallas exact some revenge with a wire-to-wire victory. Nowitzki poured in 25 points to pace the Mavericks to a 97-89 victory over Denver Friday at American Airlines Center. Nowitzki, Rajon Rondo and Tyson Chandler all sat out Wednesday, but the trio of starters returned Friday and were big contributors. Chandler had 11 points and 16 rebounds. Rondo was held to just two points, but he chipped in nine rebounds and eight assists. Chandler Parsons scored 18 points and Monta Ellis had 14 for the Mavs. Arron Afflalo had 16 points, and JJ Hickson scored 13 and pulled down 14 rebounds for the Nuggets. Jameer Nelson, who made his Nuggets debut after being traded from Boston, scored 14 to go with seven assists. Final Score: San Antonio 110, Portland 96 San Antonio, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - The last time the San Antonio Spurs played the Portland Trail Blazers, both teams were engaged in a triple overtime thriller with the Blazers coming out on top. The Spurs made sure no extra time was needed on Friday night. Kawhi Leonard returned to the lineup to lead the Spurs with 20 points in a 110-96 win over the Blazers at AT&T Center. Leonard returned after a 15-game absence due to a torn ligament in his right hand. He had not played since Dec. 15. Danny Green deposited 19 points and Patty Mills added 18 points off the bench for San Antonio, which has won four of its last five. LaMarcus Aldridge tallied 24 points with eight rebounds and Damian Lillard, who scored 43 points in the 129-119 triple overtime win on Dec. 19, went for 23 points and five assists in this one. Final Score: Phoenix 110, Minnesota 99 Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Goran Dragic finished with 21 points and eight assists as the Phoenix Suns cruised past the Minnesota Timberwolves for a 110-99 victory on Friday. Gerald Green scored 19 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the field, Eric Bledsoe chipped in 16 and Alex Len pulled down a game- high 12 rebounds for the Suns, who have won five straight home games. Mo Williams netted 26 points, half of his career-high output from Tuesday, Andrew Wiggins scored 17 and Thaddeus Young finished with 13 points, eight boards and six assists for the Timberwolves, who were unable to build upon their 107-100 win over Cleveland on Tuesday that ended a 15-game skid. Final Score: Utah 94, LA Lakers 85 Salt Lake City, UT (SportsNetwork.com) - Gordon Hayward tallied 31 points and seven assists and the Utah Jazz topped the Kobe Bryant-less LA Lakers, 94-85, on Friday. Trey Burke added 20 points and Derrick Favors posted 18 and 10 rebounds for Utah, which snapped a three-game losing skid. Hayward shot 12- for-18 from the floor, 4-for-7 from behind the arc and made all three of his free throws. The Jazz finished 10-for-10 from the stripe as a team. Bryant, who posted a career-high 17 assists in Thursdays loss to Cleveland, was given the night off to rest. Nick Young paced Los Angeles in his absence with 23 points off the bench, including 13-for-13 from the foul line, and Jordan Hill had 16 points and 11 rebounds. Final Score: Miami 95, Sacramento 83 Sacramento, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Chris Bosh scored 30 points and Luol Deng added 25 to guide the Miami Heat to a 95-83 win over the Sacramento Kings. Heat star Dwyane Wade didnt play in his second straight game due to a strained left hamstring. Miami was also without Chris Andersen (illness), but managed to win for the third time in four games. Shabazz Napier had 12 points for Miami, which led by as many as 20 in the fourth quarter. DeMarcus Cousins scored 17 to go with 11 rebounds to pace the Kings, who lost their second in a row. Cousins committed eight of Sacramentos 15 turnovers, which led to 17 Miami points. Final Score: Cleveland 126, LA Clippers 121 Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Kyrie Irving and LeBron James combined for 69 points and the Cleveland Cavaliers went into Staples Center and beat the LA Clippers 126-121 on Friday. Irving scored a game-high 37 points, hitting 12-for-18 from the floor and five of his seven 3-point attempts. James continued his strong play since missing a career-high eight straight games with knee and back injuries, tallying 32 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists. Tristan Thompson filled in admirably for the injured Kevin Love, adding 24 points and 12 boards in the spot start. Love missed the game with back spasms. Cleveland, which had lost six in a row before arriving at Staples Center for Thursdays game against the Lakers, has won back-to-back games for the first time since a three-game win streak in mid- December. The National Football League released its 2014 regular-season schedule on Wednesday. Air Max Bw Homme . It will open with the Super Bowl XLVIII champion Seattle Seahawks hosting the Green Bay Packers on Thursday, Sept. 4 at whats sure to be a raucous CenturyLink Field celebrating the franchises first title. Kickoff weekend features 13 games on Sept. 7, with the first Sunday primetime matchup pitting Peyton Manning against a familiar foe as he leads the reigning AFC-champion Denver Broncos opposite the Indianapolis Colts at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. Manning, of course, was the Colts starting quarterback for 13 years before neck surgery and the arrival of Andrew Luck ended his memorable tenure in Indy in 2012. The Thanksgiving games pit three division rivals against each other for the first time. The Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions get things started with an NFC North clash, the reigning NFC East champion Philadelphia Eagles visit the Dallas Cowboys and the Seahawks collide with the San Francisco 49ers in a rematch of last years NFC title game at new Levis Stadium. The participants in last seasons AFC championship game -- the Broncos and Patriots -- square off in a Week 9 showdown in Foxborough. London will get three contests this season with Miami-Oakland on Sept. 28, Detroit-Atlanta on Oct. 26 and Dallas-Jacksonville on Nov. 9. Byes for teams go from Week 3 through Week 12. The league made a change in its flex scheduling, where times of games can be changed for Sunday night matchups, moving it up from Week 11 all the way to Week 5. Once again, every Week 17 contest will pit divisional opponents against one another, with all games to be held on Sunday, Dec. 28. Wild Card weekend is set for January 3-4, with the divisional round the following weekend. The AFC and NFC championship games will be played Sunday, Jan. 18. Super Bowl XLIX is scheduled for Feb. 1, 2015 in Glendale, Arizona at University of Phoenix Stadium. Zdeno Chara scored with 13 seconds left in regulation after David Krejci tied it late, lifting the Bruins to a 3-2 win over Pittsburgh on Saturday night in a game that saw Orpik taken from the ice on a stretcher. The Columbus Blue Jackets begin just the second playoff run in franchise history, as they visit the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday for Game 1. After getting swept in its lone playoff series, Columbus hopes to skate away with at least one victory in this opening round set despite being heavy underdogs against the Metropolitan Division champion Penguins. The Blue Jackets, who entered the NHL as an expansion team for the 2000-01 campaign, didnt qualify for the postseason until 2009 when they lost all four games against Detroit in the first round. This time they enter the playoffs as the first wild card in the East and face a Pittsburgh team with the second- best record in the conference. Pittsburgh swept the Blue Jackets in 2013-14, winning all five encounters in regulation. The Pens have claimed six straight and 10 of 12 in the series overall. The Blue Jackets and Pens were division rivals for the first time in 2013-14, as Columbus moved from the Western Conference to the East as part of the NHLs realignment plan for this season. Pens star Sidney Crosby racked up seven points (2g, 5a) in five meetings with the Blue Jackets this season. Pittsburghs Chris Kunitz had six points on four goals and two assists, while James Neal added three goals and two helpers. Pens goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury, meanwhile, went 3-0 with a 1.33 GAA in the season series. Columbus defenseman Jack Johnson was the best point-producer in the season series for Columbus, posting three assists over the five losses. One bright spot for the Blue Jackets was that No. 1 goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky only faced Pittsburgh once in 2013-14, missing the other four encounters due to injury or illness. On the other hand, Pittsburgh completely dominated the Jackets in special teams during the season series, going 5-for-19 on the power play while killing 13-of-14 penalties. Pittsburgh cruised to a division title this season, taking the Metropolitan with 109 points -- 13 more than the second-place New York Rangers and a healthy Crosby was a big reason why. Crosby led the NHL in scoring with 104 points this season and is the leading candidate for the 2013-14 Hart Trophy. Crosbys fellow star centerman Evgeni Malkin satt out the final 11 games of the regular season with a sprained foot, but he practiced on the first power play unit this morning. Air Max 2018 Elite. A bigger question for Pittsburgh heading into the postseason is whether Fleury will struggle again in net. Fleury anchored Pittsburghs Cup win in 2009, but he has looked awful in the postseason since then and was even demoted to backup last spring. Fleury was replaced by Tomas Vokoun as the clubs No. 1 goaltender after Game 4 of the opening round against the New York Islanders and did not start another game in the playoffs as Pittsburgh was eventually eliminated by Boston in a conference final sweep. However, Pittsburgh is putting its faith in Fleury once again after he went 39-18-5 with a 2.37 goals against average and .915 save percentage during the 2013-14 regular season. In 80 games during his postseason career, Fleury is 45-34 with a 2.73 GAA and .903 save percentage. "(I) remind myself I have one more Stanley Cup than a lot of people, so I know I can do it," Fleury said. "I think we have a solid team and Ill try my best to get to it again." The key to the series for Columbus resides in the crease where Bobrovsky could give the Blue Jackets a considerable edge should Fleury get another case of the postseason yips. Bobrovsky won the Vezina last season and proved that campaign was no fluke in 2013-14, going 32-20-5 with a 2.38 GAA and .923 save percentage. Bobrovsky has playoff experience from his time in Philadelphia, starting three postseason games while making relief appearances on four other occasions. He was 0-2 with a 4.04 GAA and .848 save percentage in those outings. Pittsburgh, which also will host Game 2 on Saturday, was 28-9-4 at CONSOL Energy Center this season. Columbus was 21-17-3 as the visiting team. TORONTO - Mondays 8-3 win over the Detroit Tigers got the Toronto Blue Jays back to the break-even mark in their seemingly constant flirt with . Comprar Nike Air Vapormax .500. It was an important win coming off a 2-5 road trip through American League East-rival cities Tampa Bay and Boston and because the Tigers are scheduled to pitch the nasty trifecta of Doug Fister, Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander over the next three nights. Not to mention the injury bug. With R.A. Dickey pitching at full health and showing it on the mound (seven innings, two earned runs on Monday) and Jose Reyes back in the lineup, the ranks of the infirmary seemed to be thinning. However, Edwin Encarnacion – more on him in a moment – and Adam Lind are nursing nagging injuries which kept them out of Mondays game. Linds back, which was a problem for him during three down seasons between 2010-2012, is once again an issue. This time, the issue is mid-back. He says his lower back, the scene of the previous trouble, is fine. "Hopefully its just a couple of days," said Lind. "I came out of the game (Sunday) so it would only be a couple of days instead of trying to play through it and turn it into a month." Lind, who took up yoga in the offseason to better keep his muscles loose and improve flexibility, has been unable to continue with classes in-season due to the demands of the playing schedule. He has maintained an exercise routine but admits there have been moments this year when his back has wrenched. Its just that Sunday felt different and, like he gives partial credit to maturity and a better understanding of himself for his offensive turnaround, Lind is taking the conservative approach to dealing with this latest setback. "I could have came out the last few years but I decided to try and stick it out and play a few extra innings which resulted in a month on the DL," said Lind. "I didnt want to put myself through that again. It just wasnt the smart thing to do." Lind is hitting .327/.386/.547 with 11 home runs and 33 RBI. He admits the last 24 hours have been emotionally taxing, worrying about an injury recurrence interrupting his bounce back season. "I feel better (today)", said Lind. "I can take deep breaths. Im in a better mental situation than I was yesterday. I was pretty rattled and shook up ... I was pretty distraught, especially for a couple of innings and then it took a doctor like four innings to get to the clubhouse. It was just like, come on. I was pretty shook up." Meantime, Mark DeRosa, also ailing, was pressed into action Monday afternoon when Encarnacion was a late scratch with tightness in his left hamstring. Encarnacion, 30, is having an all-star-calibre season. His slash line is .270/.350/.537 and his 23 home runs and 66 RBI lead the club. Encarnacions also been dealing with nagging pain in his wrist. DeRosas three-run home run in the fourth off Tigers reliever Luke Putkonen gave the Jays an 8-2 lead and put the game out of reach. DeRosa played with pain in his neck, which hes dealt with sporadically since 2008. He believes its the result of a bulging disk. The absence of Lind and Encarnacion, who remain on the active roster, left manager John Gibbons with only Emilio Bonifacio on his bench. Gibbons says he doesnt anticipate the Blue Jays having to make a roster move to deepen the reserve. Off-Season Game Plan looks at a Wild team that has a nice mix of proven veterans along with young, inexpensive talent on the rise. When the Wild signed Zach Parise and Ryan Suter, making a big splash in the summer of 2012, it set the franchise on a path to being more competitive, but a big reason that they have been so competitive is the contributions of young players who still have more to give. It sort of worked out this season. Top-ranked Florida State (13-0) was the only team to get through the regular season unbeaten, and the Seminoles did it in dominating fashion.SEATTLE -- Collin McHugh didnt know he was starting Tuesday until late the night before. When he took the mound, he surprised just about everyone with his performance. McHugh struck out a career-high 12 in his season debut to lead the Houston Astros to a 5-2 win against the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday night, extending Seattles losing streak to eight games. McHugh (1-0) was told he was being called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Monday and flew to Seattle. It wasnt until he got to the team hotel late Monday night that he found out he was going to start for the Astros on Tuesday. Before the game, Houston coach Bo Porter characterized McHugh as a "pitch to contact guy," but the Mariners made almost no contact. McHugh struck out the first three batters he faced to set the tone for his first win in 10 career starts. "That was outstanding. Thats what you call seizing the opportunity," Porter said. The right-hander didnt walk a batter, giving up three hits in 6 2-3 shutout innings. "I dont think anybody prepares to go out and strike out a bunch of people. But I knew I had pretty decent command today with two or three pitches," McHugh said. "It was really good to kind of get the proverbial gorilla off your back with a W." McHughs stuff caught the Mariners off guard as well, as they only reached second once against him. "He was a little different than the scouting report we got. He was 94 (miles an hour) with a pretty good cut slider," Seattle manager Lloyd McClendon said. "He threw exceptionally well tonight." The Astros offence gave McHugh plenty to work with, as Jason Castro and Chris Carter each hit homers to give Houston a 3-0 lead after two innings. Seattle starter Erasmo Ramirez (1-3) struck out eight over six innings and only allowed three hits, but they included the two costly homers. Three at-bats into the game, Castro just cleared the left field wall for a two-run homer, his fourth. Carter followed in the second inning with a shot to left that landed in the second deck for hhis first homer of the year. Comprar Nike Cortez Online. Seattles Dustin Ackley tried to counter with a deep ball to left in the bottom of the second, but Matt Dominguez made a leaping catch at the wall to end the inning. Dominguez added a homer of his own in the top of the seventh to give Houston a 4-0 lead. The Astros have now won two in a row after a seven-game losing streak, and their offence -- which entered Tuesdays game with a major league-worst .196 batting average -- is finally showing some signs of life. "Once the whole offence is flowing like it is the last couple games, you kind of get in a little groove with it," Dominguez said. "Its been nice being able to score some runs." McHughs 12th strikeout came against Robinson Cano to leadoff the bottom of the seventh, but Porter brought on reliever Raul Valdes with two outs in the inning. McHugh had thrown 89 pitches, well above his high of 73 pitches in his minor league outings this year. Valdes walked Kyle Seager and then gave up a two-run home run to Justin Smoak, Seattles only offence of the game. McHughs call up came after Scott Feldman was placed on the disabled list with biceps tendinitis. Feldman will miss at least one more start, possibly giving McHugh more chances to show what he can do. "He didnt do anything to hurt his chances of sticking around," Porter said. "He definitely earned his keep." NOTES: The crowd of 10,466 was the fifth-lowest in Safeco Field history. Six of the seven lowest crowds at Safeco have been matchups with the Astros, all coming since the start of last season. ... Seattle RHP Hisashi Iwakuma (finger) was scheduled to pitch in a rehabilitation assignment at Triple-A Tacoma, but instead threw a simulated game at Safeco Field on Tuesday afternoon due to weather concerns. McClendon said the outing went well, and Iwakuma will have a rehab outing with Tacoma on Sunday. ... Astros RHP Lucas Harrell, designated for assignment on April 16, cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Oklahoma City. GOODYEAR, Ariz. Miesten Adidas NMD R2 Kengät Punainen/Musta Suomi . -- Cincinnati Reds closer Aroldis Chapman underwent a 2 1/2-hour operation Thursday to repair a broken bone above his left eye but has no other serious injuries after being hit in the face by a line drive in a spring training game. Team medical director Dr. Timothy Kremchek said Chapman could begin throwing off a mound in six to eight weeks, a timetable that could get him back in games in late May. The left-hander with a fastball that has reached 105 mph could start exercising and throwing on flat ground in a couple of weeks, Kremchek said. The doctor called Chapman "a very lucky guy." The surgery was performed by cranial facial plastic surgeon Dr. Ed Joganic. Kremchek said earlier that a metal plate would be inserted in the bone above Chapmans left eyebrows and would remain there permanently. Chapman has a very mild concussion but no other brain injury and no injury to his eye, Kremchek said. "Hes feeling better and he has some pain management. Were optimistic that he is going to be on the mend," Reds manager Bryan Price said after meeting with players Thursday morning at the teams spring training facility. "Obviously, well stay in touch. We will make sure we follow the process as we continue to get familiar with the injury itself. We will let him know how much support he has and that we care about him. Hopefully, we will see him here very soon." Cincinnati catcher Brayan Pena, a fellow Cuban and Chapmans close friend, was one of several Reds players who visited the injured pitcher Wednesday night and spoke to him on the phone Thursday morning. "He was talking to me and we joked a lot," Pena said. "He just wanted to make sure for me to tell everybody that he appreciate so much the fans prayers, especially our teammates, our coaching staff, everybody around, how much support and how much love he received and got from all of us." Pena said Chapman was very happy when they spoke Thursday, "talking and joking. He was talking a lot about some Cuban jokes and thats good because that means his memory is still working pretty good." The frightening incident, widely available on video via the Internet, occurred in the sixth inning of Wednesday nights game at Kansas Citys spring training facility in Surprise, where the Royals Salvador Perez lined Chapmans 99 mph fastball into the pitchers face. Chapman was knocked backward to the ground, then rolled on his face, kicking in pain. Pena rushed to the mound. "Honestly, when I saw it I wanted to cry," Pena said. "That was my first feeling because it was very scary. It was very scary because I saw the line drive going straight for his face, and then I saw him bleeding and kicking and moving around the way he was." Pena said Chapman "wasnt even talking. He was just like moaning and making sounds and then when I got there I panicked because I didnt know what else to do. Then the medical staff guys got there, and those guys were great." Chapman was taken off the field on a stretcher as the crowd fell into an eerie silence and the game was called. The pitcher was taken to a nearby hospital, then transferred to Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix. Kremchek said he expected Chapman to remain hospitalized for a couple of days and perhaps get released on Saturday. The ball hit Chapman in one of the most protected areas of the skull, the doctor said. "If you get hit in the side of the head, that could be disastrous," Kremchek said. "Where Aroldis got hit, you dont want to say he got hit in a good spot because hes undergoing surgery, but it could have been a lot worse, a lot more injuries, a lot more permanent. Hes very lucky." The 26-year-old Chapman has a blazing fastball that regularly hits 100 mph. The two-time All-Star defected from Cuba in 2009 and made the Reds in his first season of 2010. He had 38 saves each of the past two seasons, with 122 strikeouts in 71 2-3 innings in 2012 and 112 strikeouts in 63 2-3 innings in 2013. Price, a former pitcher, said pitchers are in a dangerous situation, "regardless of how hard you throw." "Its hard to defend yourself from 53, 54 feet," the manager said. "And everyone finishes their pitches differently. Everyone is not in a perfect fielding position and even if you are there is no guarantee that you can protect yourself when a balls hit that hard." Major League Baseball approved a protective cap for pitchers this winter following several terrifying scenes similar to this one in the last few years. The hats were available for testing during spring training on a voluntary basis but most pitchers have rejected them. Besides, the hats would offer no protection to the face, where Chapman was hit. Chapman particularly wanted to thank the Royals organization for its support and offer assurance to Perez that it is just something that happens in baseball and was not his fault. Pena said he also felt some responsibility. "I kind of blame myself a little bit because I could have called slider or I should have called changeup," Pena said. "Thats your thought process. Everything goes through your mind and youre looking for answers. ... You kind of put yourself in that guilt feeling." But Chapman, Pena said, told him "You know, its not your fault. I should have thrown slower. Im the one feeling very bad about it and hes the one thats cheering me up. Hes the one in the hospital." Now, if the Red Sox could just do the same with their roster. The World Series champions put first baseman Mike Carp on the 15-day disabled list before Monday nights game against Cleveland because of a broken right foot. They also welcomed back shortstop Stephen Drew and put him right into the lineup for his season debut. "I know this team," Drew said, "and they know me, so its nothing new." Carp broke his foot last week, when he fouled ball off it in Atlanta. He played a few more games, but was bothered by the injury over the weekend and tests taken Sunday revealed the fracture. Carps foot will be immobilized in a boot for at least one week and he will need another week of rehab before he resumes baseball activities. "So were still a little ways away before hes back to us," Red Sox manager John Farrell said before the series opener with thhe Indians. The Red Sox, who recently lost 10 straight games, have been battling injuries most of this season. Outfielder Shane Victorino (hamstring), first baseman Mike Napoli (finger sprain) and starter Clay Buchholz (sprained knee) are all on the disabled list. Boston is getting some help in the meantime as the club activated Drew. Farrell said Drew will be eased into the lineup, but will likely soon take over as Bostons everyday shortstop. "Initially were still in the building phase of games played, repetition to it," Farrell said. "To say that he comes back and goes every day might be a little aggressive at this point. Stephen Drew, up to full game speed, is a damn good player. Im not looking to build in days off." Drew re-signed with the Red Sox last month after he initially rejected a $14.1 million qualifying offer from them and became a free agent. ATLANTA -- Al Horford, the Atlanta Hawks leading scorer and rebounder, is out indefinitely with a torn right pectoral muscle. Horford left Thursday nights 127-125 double-overtime win at Cleveland in the first overtime with the injury and did not return. The Hawks say an MRI and examination on Friday by Dr. Michael Bernot in Atlanta revealed the complete tear of the muscle. Hawks general manager Danny Ferry said the team will complete its "due diligence" to determine the next step for Horford. Horford leads the team with 18.6 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. Winners of 15 straight, with a healthy roster, the Spurs have overtaken the Clippers and Oklahoma City Thunder for the number one ranking.MADRID, Spain -- Atletico Madrid took full advantage of Barcelonas rare slip-up as it pummeled Real Sociedad 4-0 on Sunday to take sole possession of the lead in the Spanish league for the first time this season. David Villa, Diego Costa, Miranda, and the newly arrived Diego scored the goals that put Atletico clear at the top of the standings, having shared the lead with Barcelona for much of the campaign. Atletico holds a three point advantage over Barcelona and Real Madrid after Athletic Bilbao rallied to draw 1-1 against Madrid, which finished without Cristiano Ronaldo after he was red carded. Substitute Ibai Gomezs volley cancelled out Jese Rodriguezs opener for Madrid, which played the final 15 minutes a man down after Ronaldo was sent off for swiping his hand across Carlos Gurpegis face following a shove from his opponent. The contact seemed light, but Gurpegi fell to the ground as if hed been hit hard. Atletico honoured former player and coach Luis Aragones before the match and fed off the emotion at the Vicente Calderon Stadium to boost its attempt to break the Barcelona-Madrid monopoly with a first championship since 1996. Barcelona lost 3-2 to Valencia on Saturday, and Atletico did not waste the opportunity to go top by itself for the first time since that championship-winning season. Not since Valencias league title a decade ago has a club other than the big two won the Spanish league. Diego Costa was lively from the start, and the Brazilian-born Spain striker fed Villa inside the box in the 38th minute to finish off a quick break by scoring the opener. Villa sustained a leg injury moments later and had to be replaced by Raul Garcia. With the home fans chanting Aragones name throughout, Atletico came alive in the second half as Garcia found Diego Costa racing free between defenders in the 72nd and the forward beat goalkeeper Claudio Bravo with a right-footed shot for his 20th league goal of the season. Two minutes later, Miranda headed home a corner kick out of Braavos reach for 3-0 before Diego, who came on in the 58th for his first appearance in his return to the club, marked his return to Atletico by dribbling into the box to unleash a rising shot into goal with three minutes remaining. Puma Basket Heart Patent. "This is something nice for the players, who have made such effort and go into every single game with the same intensity and work ethic," Atletico coach Diego Simeone said. "Luis would appreciate the teams courage, since he was a courageous type with character, just like this team." Atletico leads with 57 points, while Barcelona and Madrid share 54 points. Jese lunged to guide Ronaldos cross into the area beyond goalkeeper Gorka Iraizoz for the 65th-minute opener in a game that was dominated by Bilbao up to that point. Gomez made up for earlier misses by Aritz Aduritz and Ander Herrera when he ran onto a cleared ball outside the area to rip an unstoppable shot past goalkeeper Diego Lopez in the 73rd. The intensity boiled over moments later when Ronaldo and Gurpegi tangled, the Ballon dOr winners straight red card means he will miss Madrids next game. "Its difficult when you lose a player without reason," Madrid defender Marcelo said. "Its already difficult to score one point here but Madrid has the obligation of winning every game. So (the red card) made it tougher." Gomez nearly scored the winner in the 85th from another volley but Lopez tipped it over as Bilbao improved to 43 points in fourth. Earlier Sunday, Cristian Herreras second-half goal gave Elche a 1-0 victory against Almeria to lift the club above its relegation adversary, while Ruben Castro scored two goals as last-placed Real Betis beat Espanyol 2-0 to end a four-game losing streak. Elche improved to 24 points, two more than Almeria which is 17th. Valladolid is 18th with 20, Rayo Vallecano has 17 and Betis 14. All games held a minutes silence in honour of Aragones, the former Spain coach who died on Saturday at age 75. (SportsNetwork. Fenty Bow Sneakers Purple .com) - The Detroit Red Wings return to Joe Louis Arena Saturday night on the heels of a successful road trip to take on the Nashville Predators. The Red Wings capped off a six-game swing at 4-2-0 thanks to a last-second victory over the St. Louis Blues on Thursday. Pavel Datsyuk notched the winning goal with 2.2 seconds left in overtime for a 3-2 final. Datsyuk fired away from the inner arc of the left circle and his rising shot caught the crook between Brian Elliotts arm and body, then squeezed through and rippled the net inside the near post. Joakim Andersson and Tomas Tatar scored a minute apart in the second period to break open a scoreless game, but Blues scored twice in the third frame to even the score. Anderssons tally was his first of the season. Petr Mrazek made 25 saves for Detroit, which has won seven of its past 10 to pull into a tie with the Montreal Canadiens for second place in the Atlantic Division. It was huge to get both points here, Andersson said. Were happy to get two points from (the Blues). The Red Wings will host the Sabres on Sunday and it is unknown if Mrazek and Thomas McCollum will split the starts with Jimmy Howard out due to a groin tear. Mrazek has never faced the Predators, while McCollum has appeared in just one career NHL game. That was a 15-minute relief appearance on March 30, 2011. Detroit has won four of its past six at home versus Nashville, though the Predators won both meetings last season. The streaking Preds come in having won a season-high five straight games and leading the Central Division by six points over the Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues. Their 64 points also are tied with the Anaheim Ducks for most in the NHL. Nashville put together its first five-game winning streak since Jan. 19-31, 2012 by beating former head coach Barry Trotz and the Washington Capitals 4-3 on Friday night. James Neal capped a rally with his second goal of the game with 1:40 to play. Nashville overcame a 3-2 deficit by scoring twice in the final 4 1/2 minutes, with Mattias Ekholm netting the equalizer on a power play. I felt like we stuck with it throughout the night, Neal said. We responded every time we gave something up. I loved the way the guys battled back at the end. Seth Jones added a goal and an assist for Nashville, while Carter Hutton came up with 31 saves in his first start since the Predators announced standout goaltender Pekka Rinne would miss 3-to-5 weeks with a sprained knee. The Predators next look to win six in a row for the first time since March 17-26, 2011. If reports of apparent bullying at Villa Park and training ground punch-ups at Swansea were not bad enough for a pair of clubs whose recent form has dragged them into the end of season relegation dog fight, then what to make of the alleged leaking of Cardiffs starting XI ahead of their crucial encounter with fellow strugglers, Crystal Palace on April 5th. Almost a week would pass before we got the first indications of what Cardiff are now alleging. By this point the club had fired a member of staff and suspended another over the leaking of Solskjaers team to their relegation rival.  Yesterday the BBC revealed Cardiff, in the form of a five page letter through their lawyers, had filed a formal complaint to the BPL.  Within the letter it is alleged they have proof Palace knew the Cardiff team the day before the match. The central character in this saga appears to be Crystal Palaces sporting director Iain Moody, who was head of player recruitment at Cardiff until he was fired without explanation back in November. Cardiff further allege in their letter Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis was aware Moody, through his contacts at the Welsh club, was attempting to obtain the Cardiff team.  To his credit, in an interview with a UK tabloid, Moody dismissed the allegations and referred to them as, ‘extraordinarily untrue. Now add this into the mix. Dougie Freedman, who played for Palace in the mid-1990s and went on to manage the club during the 2011/12 season, is alleged by Cardiff to have mistakenly received a text message from Moody on April 4th. The text explicitly detailed Cardiffs starting XI and is also reported to name the source of the leak as Cardiff midfield player, Aron Gunnarsson. Freedman, who had met Cardiff boss Solskjaer when they took their coaching licenses, remained in touch with the ex-Manchester United player and called him after receiving the text. Solskjaer is reported to have not registered any formal complaint but had words with Pulis when they exchanged their team sheets an hour before April 5ths kick off between the two clubs. For its part the BPL, through a spokesperson, said it will stage an investigation. Cardiff is demanding the 3-0 result is nulled. In todays pre-match press conference ahead of tomorrows match against West Ham, Tony Pulis said he was willing to meet the league over the matter.   In some circles Pulis is being mentioned as a candidate for the manager of the year following the incredible turn around at Selhurst Park. When the ex-Stoke boss took over in late November the club were firmly rooted at the bottom of the table, remarkably they now sit in mid-table respectability with the 11thspot. No matter what the outcome of the investigation, the fact this is part of the public debate casts significant embarrassment for a league and comes at such a pivotal time of the season. There is no precedent. Comparisons though are been draawn to 2007s relegation battle - when West Ham and Sheffield United were embroiled in legal action following West Hams last day relegation escape, which consigned this seasons FA Cup semi-finalists to the Championship. Puma Fenty Slides Fur Pink. Carlos Tevez, who was on loan to West Ham, scored the winner at Old Trafford that day in a match they had to win. However, as the Argentine strikers rights at that time were owned by a 3rd party this was in serious contravention of BPL rules. West Ham was found guilty and fined £5m by the league. Sheffield United took the matter to court and eventually received £18m in compensation from the London club. For the three clubs who will suffer relegation this season to ease their drop into the Championship they will receive so termed ‘parachute payments amounting to approximately $100m over a four-year period. Even so, and as ever increasing amounts of money pours into English footballs top tier, it becomes inevitable clubs threatened by relegation will use any means necessary to secure their place in the most lucrative domestic league in all of world football. OTTAWA - Torontos Patrick Chan is giving the world championships a miss, but he isnt finished with competitive figure skating just yet. Adidas NMD Baratas . Chan captured two silver medals at last months Sochi Winter Games — mens singles and the inaugural team event. But he doesnt have the urge to resume training to defend his world title when the event is held in Saitama, Japan, later this month. However, the 23-year-old said hes committed to chasing a fourth world championship at some point. "Honestly, I know in my heart I want to win another world championship ... I really dont feel like this is the end," Chan said during a conference call. "(After Sochi) I asked myself if I could see myself training at the immediate moment, like right now could I go into training like I did before the Games? "I really didnt see that as a possibility. I already went to a world championships after an Olympic Games (2010 in Vancouver) so I really wanted to enjoy coming home and enjoying the medal and enjoying it with the rest of Canada this time because I didnt have that chance last time. I really wanted to enjoy myself with these two medals." Ice dancers Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, who also earned two silver medals in Sochi, wont compete at the world championships either. Both were non-commital about their future but the expectation is the two-time world champions and 2010 Olympic champions will retire. "We werent sure how wed feel after the Olympics in Sochi and we ended on such a high note," Virtue said. "We were so pleased with our performances, both short and free dance, and just thrilled with the experience we had at the Olympics it just seems like the right way to end the season. "Kind of a nice way to say good-bye to those two programs." Virtue and Moir finished second in Sochi to Americans Meryl Davis and Charlie White, with the two teams sharing the same coach, Russian Marina Zoueva. Afterwards, the Canadians publicly questioned Zouevas loyalties. "Some of the things we were honest about at that press conference would come as no surprise to Marina," Virtue said. "She was very aware of the situation. "We travelled to Moscow and did two shows after the closing ceremonies and Meryl and Charlie also did their shows and it was a really nice way to cap off the Olympics with spending time with the two of them in a care-free, fun environment where we could just talk about our experiences. I think we probably talked more in that day than we have in the past few years because the pressure was off and we were able to just chat as friends again. It was a nice way to end that chapter with them." While their competitive seasons are over, Moir, Virtue and Chan wont be hanging up their blades. All three will tour and perform with Stars on Ice. "I think were more comfortable trying to take advantage of some of the opportunities after an Olympic Games," Moir said. "Were very much at peace with where were at." Chan was second at the 2010 world championships after finishing fifth at the Vancouver Games, winning his first global crown the following year. The 23-year-old had a glorious opportunity to win gold in Sochi after 19-year-old rival Yuzuru Hanyu of Japan struggled in his free skate. But Chan couldnt take advantage. Twice he faltered during jumps, putting his hand on the ice to keep from falling, and stumbled on a third in settling for the silver behind Hanyu. Chan said he, Virtue and Moir attended a function Monday with Caroline Ouellette, a member of Canadas gold medal-winning womens hockey team. Chan admitted he was somewhat envious of Ouellettes medal. "A gold medal is really, really nice and its different and I definitely get a spell of jealousy," he said. "At the same time I have to look at the experience I had and how different of a sport figure skating is. "These silver medals were not easy to get, they were probably just as hard as a gold medal is. One or two mistakes too many and just in that moment it came out of my grasp. The world No 1 was pushed to the brink by Eidams in a tense contest at this years World Championships, but the latest meeting lacked the same drama, with Van Gerwen powering to victory over the German in the second round. An early break for Eidams raised the hopes of the home fans, but it only sparked a determined response from Van Gerwen, who reeled off four legs in a row. Eidams clawed back a leg, but could not prevent Mighty Mike from sealing victory in style as he produced a majestic 132 finish of two bullseyes and double 16.Reigning world champion Gary Anderson put in the performance of the night as he posted a 106.59 average, winning six consecutive legs on his way to a 6-1 victory over the in-form Daryl Gurney. MONTREAL -- When misfortune finally struck the Mercedes AMG team, Red Bulls Daniel Ricciardo was there to take the prize. Cheap UK Vans Old Skool Black/Red|Mens/Womens . Ricciardo passed series leader Nico Rosberg with two laps to go and held on for his first Formula One victory in a wild Canadian Grand Prix on Sunday afternoon. The 24-year-old became the first non-Mercedes driver to win in seven races this season, although even he admitted there was luck involved and that it is too early to say that Red Bull is back as a championship contender. "Obviously Mercedes had their issues and that enabled us to close on them," a giddy and still disbelieving Ricciardo said after the race. "Its a bit surreal. Really cool." The Aussie driver remembered to save some champagne from the post-race podium celebration to spray on his race engineer, Toronto native Gavin Ward. Rosberg finished second despite engine and brake problems, while the second Red Bull driven by four-time world champion and defending Canadian Grand Prix winner Sebastian Vettel came in third. The race ended under a caution flag after a spectacular crash involving Sergio Perezs Force India car and Felipe Massas Williams. They narrowly missed taking Vettel out. Both drivers appeared unhurt as they got out of their cars on their own. They were checked out by track doctors, then had further tests at Sacre-Coeur Hospital and were released. Race stewards found Perez at fault for the crash and penalized him five grid positions at the next race. The Red Bull team ruled F1 as Vettel won the last four championships, but a switch to more fuel-efficient turbo engines this year saw Mercedes emerge with what looked like an unbeatable car. Mercedes AMG won the first six races of the season, with Lewis Hamilton winning four and Rosberg taking two. They had finished one-two in the five previous races. But the long straights and tight corners of Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve have a history of mishaps, crashes and heartbreak, and this thriller was no exception. Rosberg kept the lead over Hamilton off the start and both were comfortably in front until just over midway through the 70-lap event. But then both cars at once developed problems with their Energy Recovery Systems, which convert the energy the car produces into extra power, and that led to rear brakes trouble. Hamilton, a three-time winner in Canada, exited the race with his brakes emitting smoke after 48 laps. It was a second retirement for Hamilton, who was out of the season-opening Australian GP after two laps with engine trouble. Rosberg needed all his skill to keep his Mercedes on the track and managed to hang on through the final laps with a line of competitors pushing from behind. But Ricciardo finally got past on the final corner leading to the homestretch of the 4.361-kilometre course. "I was pleased I was managing to stay ahead with this huge train of cars behind me," said Rosberg. "One guy got by, but I still managed to hang on. "Losing is disappointing for us as a team. We have such speed and such a great car, to not win and just have one car come in second is hugely disappointing for us. Our ambition is to finish one-two. We have to make sure we get back there next race in Austria." Ricciardo had spent several laps just trying to get by Perez, whose Mercedes-powered Force India was stronger in the straights, but the Mexican made a braking error and the Aussie shot past on lap 66. "I needed a bit of a mistake from him," said Ricciardo. "He got close to Nico and perhaps overshot the braking in the last chicane and I managed to just stay with him on the exit. "Once I had the outside line free, I made it work." Rosberg earned 18 points to stretch his lead in driver standings over Hamilton to 22 points. Ricciardo, who finished third in the previous two events, moved into third spot, 61 points off the lead. Vettel earned his second third-place finish of the year, but said the Red Bulls still have a long way to go to catch Mercedes. "We have a competitive car, but not yet a competitive package to match them and beat them regularly," said the German. "Today we got lucky. "It feels great and its a great reward for the whole team after such a painful winter and a difficult start to the season. To get both cars on the podium and beat at least one of the Mercedes, I think thats a very positive day for us." Rosberg said: "We are fully aware that Red Bull is still an amazingly strong team and pushing like crazy to catch us." Vettel came within a metre or two of being taken out by Massa, who whizzed across the final chicane straight into a retaining wall. "I saw something white coming in the mirror and at the last second, I turned right and Felipe was in the air flying past," he said. "I was quite lucky he didnt hit me. I saw him just in time." Ricciardo spent the last two years with Toro Rossi and moved to Red Bull team when his compatriot Mark Webber retired. He became the fourth Australian to win an F1 race after Jack Brabham, Alan Jones and Webber. "Very proud," said the Perth, Australia native. "It was great to hear the Aussie anthem. Its been three years since I won a race (in any series). Its a feeling I missed a lot." The safety car came out during the first lap after a crash that took out both Marussia cars spread debris across the track. Max Chilton looked to lose control and bump Jules Bianchi, who slammed into a wall. Neither was injured. Esteban Gutierrez was given permission to race, starting from pit lane, despite not taking part in qualifying. The Mexican missed qualifying while having his Sauber chassis changed after a crash in the final practice session on Saturday. He left the race after 64 laps. The next race is June 22 in Spielberg, Austria at a track, perhaps ominously for Mercedes, called the Red Bull Ring. Lee won the gold medal, defending her title from the Vancouver Games.ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Peyton Mannings never-ending quest to hone his game and Nick Sabans desire to decipher fast-paced offences led to a recent meeting that the Crimson Tide coach called mutually beneficial. It also might have violated NFL rules because, according to Saban, Denver Broncos offensive co-ordinator Adam Gase also was in attendance. The league doesnt allow players and their coaches to meet before the start of off-season workouts, which for the Broncos begin Monday. On-field instruction wont start until mid-May. The Associated Press left messages with the team and the NFL on Friday seeking comment. Gase, one of the rising young stars in the NFL coaching ranks, and Saban go way back. Gase worked under Saban at Michigan State in the late 1990s and followed him to LSU as a graduate assistant in 2000. Saban also has known Manning for a long time and is friends with his father, Archie. Saban said after Thursdays practice that Manning and Gase were "making some visits" and stopped by Tuscaloosa, Ala., a couple of weeks ago. "To be honest with you, he was just trying to learn so he could be a better player," Saban said of the five-time MVP who led the Broncos to the Super Bowl, where they were soundly beaten by Seattle. With Gase calling the shots, Manniing set NFL records by throwing for 55 touchdowns and 5,447 yards in 2013 as the Broncos became the first team in league history to score more than 600 points in a season. Mens Vans Old Skool Black. Saban picked their brains about the no-huddle, something Alabama has had trouble with, and Manning picked up pointers from one of the brightest minds in coaching. "Since theyre a no-huddle team, we had a lot of questions for them, in terms of what gives them problems and what defensive teams do that gives them problems," Saban said. "That was kind of a mutual, hopefully beneficial -- I know it was a benefit to us. I hope it was a benefit to them, as well." The Broncos gather Monday for whats called Phase One of the voluntary off-season workout program. During the first two weeks of the off-season program, activities are limited to strength and conditioning and rehabilitation before any on-field work and instruction are allowed. Before giving the keynote address at the Boy Scouts of America Sports Breakfast in Denver on Wednesday, Manning said hes going to use Denvers 43-8 loss to the Seahawks in the Super Bowl as motivation for the upcoming season: "We have to try to find a way to build off that, and try to take it a step farther, try to finish," he suggested. TORONTO – While the future face of the Maple Leafs was being introduced beside Gate 5 of the Air Canada Centre on Monday morning, the head coach of the hockey club was busy conducting exit interviews for perhaps the final time in Toronto. Nike Cortez Cheap Uk . One player – a young defenceman, almost certain to be 23-year-old Jake Gardiner based on the clues – entered the office of Randy Carlyle and expressed frustration with the constraints he felt from the coaching staff early in the season. Carlyle was admittedly shocked by the revelation, especially taken aback by who this player compared himself with in the league. "Theres some surprising things that come back from players, something youd never imagine," Carlyle said on Tuesday afternoon, his future as the Leafs head coach on the most uncertain of terms at the outset of another disappointing offseason in Toronto. It was one more (and perhaps final) source of befuddlement for a coach still in search of answers following a season that unraveled in rapid and stinging fashion. In less than a month, his team went from chasing home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs to 12th in the East and an eighth absence from the playoffs in the past nine seasons. "We never really created an identity for our hockey club this year," he said, worn down after missing the postseason for just the second time in his NHL coaching career. "We didnt play to an identity and thats what was disturbing because we had been a competitive group in the year previous. We felt that this group going forward was ready to take the next step and a lot of people felt the same way and it didnt materialize." Carlyles imagined idea of Maple Leaf hockey was realized only in the most fleeting of moments, never consistently, be it from shift to shift, period to period, or game to game. He pushed and prodded for a team that was difficult to play against, that defended with vigour and attitude, that slugged it out for extended periods in the offensive zone (Toronto was amongst the worst possession teams in the league) and he rarely got it. Dave Bolland and David Clarkson were supposed to help establish that brand – replacing Mikhail Grabovski, Clarke MacArthur and Leo Komarov amongst others – but with Bollands long-term injury and Clarksons year-long struggle, the club actually felt off rather dramatically in terms of the identity and attitude it had established in 48 games last season. The drop-off from Grabovski to replacements for Bolland (and Tyler Bozak thereafter) was considerable as was the dip from MacArthur and Komarov to Clarkson. Those offseason changes, made by Dave Nonis, were seemingly made with the brand of the head coach in mind. Carlyle banged the drum loudly all year for what needed to change – even as the group piled up wins in early October and in parts beyond – but could never figure out how to make it stick, his brand of hockey rarely aligning with a group that was equally hard-headed and ultimately unfit to play such a style or system consistently. "We spent a lot of time and effort on trying to create, sell, visualize what it means to be a Toronto Maple Leaf," he said. "For this year we were not able to create that. Those are the things that youre going to scratch your head and bang your head against the wall Why didnt it happen? Why didnt it happen? And thats what were all asking ourselves: Why didnt it happen? Because we had it the previous shortened season, the lockout season. We were a hard team to play against." But in the lockout year of 2013, the Leafs had a superb penalty kill, a top-10 offence and strong goaltending, elements that glossed over some of the instabilities that became quickly apparent in the 2013-14 campaign that followed. Despite woeful defensive play, they made it to March in good shape on the strength of a top-five power-play, a dominant top line and superb goaltending from Jonathan Bernier. Once those elements quieted some, the house of cards collapsed – Carlyle said they lost their "mojo" following a successful swing through California. (Over-using the likes of Phil Kessel and James van Riemsdyk down the stretch, with nothing suitable on the fourth line for support, surely didnt help matters.) Replacing the high-risk, high-reward Ron Wilson, Carlyle was supposed to dramatically alter the course of the Leafs upon his arrival in March 2012, both in terms of structure and style. He was supposed to be the elixir, especially, for how they defended, but in 2013-14, Carlyles Leafs were actually worse in keeping the puck out of the net than in Wilsons final full season behind the bench. No team in the league gave up as many shots as the squad in Toronto – 856 more in fact than the NHLs best in New Jersey – forcing the goaltending to be better than average most nights for two points. Carlyle trumpeted the struggle as a matter of compete – part of the problem certainly – obfuscating of course his inability to affect change where it was once promised he would. "Were not asking the players to do something that they havent done before or wouldnt have done in another situation – be it junior hockey or American Hockey League," Carlyle. "You have to play and you have to compete on the defensive side of the puck with will and commitment and we did not want to do that on a day-to-day basis and thats what our struggles were." His status for next season remains uncertain at best. Neither new president, Brendan Shanahan, nor his second in command Dave Nonis would say if Carlyle would be back, preferring to thoroughly assess the group first in the days ahead. "Im here today," Carlyle said. But he was still searching for answers... "If you think you have all the answers youre in the wrong business," he concluded. "Theres things that you know youd like to do differently as a staff, as a person, as an individual. Theres certain ways you deal with certain things. Theres points that you felt shouldve been a lot stronger on or you shouldve been softer on. Theres all those things. Youre going to question yourself all the time." Helwani said that Weidman has been dealing with recurring swelling and pain in his knees related to torn meniscus he suffered as a teenager and the problems came to a head last week when he suffered prolonged swelling and pain in his left knee, resulting in the decision to undergo an arthroscopic scope procedure to clean up the tear in both knees. The six-time Sovereign award winner as the countrys top conditioner will send three horses -- including 4-1 early second choice Lexie Lou and 8-1 third pick Matador -- postward Sunday in search of his first career win in North Americas oldest, continuously run stakes event at Woodbine Racetrack. Casses best finish in the $1-million, 1 1/4-mile race was second in 11 with Hippolytus. "When you travel around Canada and tell people youre a horse trainer, they want to know if youve won the Queens Plate," Casse said following the race draw Thursday. "So far, the answer is no but hopefully after Sunday Ill be able to say yes. "I would like to win the Kentucky Derby, that one is big too, but this (Plate win) would be No. 1." We Miss Artie is the 8-5 favourite despite running slower than Lexie Lou their last time out. We Miss Artie rallied to capture the 1 1/8-mile Plate Trial in 1:50.78 on June 15 at Woodbine before Lexie Lous impressive 4 1/2-length Woodbine Oaks win in 1:49.77 over the same distance moments later. Lexie Lou will carry five pounds less than the others in the 15-horse field Sunday as the lone filly. "Going a mile and a quarter, five pounds is a big difference," Casse said. "In her last race, she ran a second faster than the favourite and that means something. "I think theres a good shot there will be a female winner this year." Lexie Lou will attempt to become the 35th filly to win the Plate but just the seventh since 56. And only five Oaks winners have also claimed Canadas most prestigious race, the last being Inglorious in 2011. We Miss Artie drew the No. 6 post while Lexie Lou will break from the No. 14 position. Matador starts from the No. 10 post while Majestic Sunset, Casses third horse and the second-place finisher in the Plate Trial, goes from the No. 7 post. "I think this is the strongest hand weve ever brought to the table," Casse said. "With any race you can have the best horses but you still need to have some luck. "Were ready. Sooner or later well get this thing." The field, with post position, horse, jockey and odds, includes: 1) Cap in Hand, Steven Bahen, 50-1; 2) Coltimus Prime, Jesse Campbell 20-1; 3) Athenian Guard, Omar Moreno, 50-1; 4) Asserting Bear, Chantal-Sutherland Kruse, 10-1; 5) Man o Bear, Emma-Jayne Wilson, 30-1; 6) We Miss Artie, Javier Castellano, 8-5; 7) Majestic Sunset, Gary Boulanger, 15-1; 8) Lions Bay, David Moran, 30-1; 9) Heart to Heart Eurico Rosa de Silva, 30-1; 10) Matador, Julien Leparoux, 8-1; 11) One Destiny, Justin Stein, 30-1; 12) Tower of Texas, John Velazquez, 20-1; 13) Niigon Express, Gerry Olguin, 30-1; 14) Lexie Lou, Patrick Husbands, 4-1; 15) Amis Holiday, Luis Contreras. Favourites have won 22-of-58 renewals (37 per cent) since 56 but only two -- Wando in 03 and Eye of the Leopard in 09 -- have beeen victorious in the last 19 editions. Nike Zoom Pegasus 33 Mens Black/Royal Blue/White. But Casse and Lexie Lou arent the only interesting storylines in this years race. Others include: -- Not only is a filly the No. 2 pick but two women will ride Sunday. Sutherland-Kruse, who came out of retirement to ride this year at Woodbine, will be aboard Asserting Bear while Man o Bear, will be ridden by Wilson, who became the only female jockey to win the Plate in 07 with Mike Fox. Also, trainer Josie Carroll chases a third Plate victory with Amis Holiday. -- Hall of Fame trainer Roger Attfield tries for a record ninth Plate win with Tower of Texas. Attfields last Plate victory was in 08 with Not Bourbon. -- For the first time ever, a father and two sons will saddle separate entries. Hall of Famer Sid Attard conditions Cap in Hand while Paul Attard sends out Niigon Express and Jamie Attard trains Lions Bay. The Plate is the first leg of the Canadian Triple Crown. The other races are the $500,000 Prince of Wales Stakes (July 29 at Fort Erie) and $500,000 Breeders Stakes turf event (Aug. 17 at Woodbine). Thereve been seven Triple Crown winners, the last being Wando in 03. Paul and Jamie Attard have a round of golf riding on Sundays race, but their father hasnt become embroiled in family bragging rights. Sid Attard has never won the Queens Plate but was second in 92 with longshot Grand Hooley, his first Plate starter. "Ive been listening, being quiet," the senior Attard said with a chuckle. "Id like to win but if I cant win I want one of them to win. "Id like to see them do good." Sutherland-Kruse rode Asserting Bear to victory in the Marine Stakes on May 25 but the horse was relegated to third for obstructing Ami Holidays late run. Sutherland-Kruse has finished in the money 69 times this season -- 22 wins, 28 seconds, 19 thirds -- and amassed over $1-million in purse earnings through 189 starts. The 38-year-old Winnipeg native said shed cherish a Queens Plate victory. "Ive raced all over the world, Ive seen the lArc de Triomphe, Kentucky Derby and Breeders Cup and theyre all huge races," she said. "But for me, the Queens Plate is as big. "I love Canada and am proud to be Canadian and to win it would be so gratifying." A win Sunday would further solidify Attfields status as Canadian racings most prolific trainer, having already amassed more Prince of Wales (five) and Breeders Stakes (eight) victories in the Triple Crown era than any other conditioner. But its an accomplishment that isnt keeping 74-year-old resident of Nobleton, Ont. -- who has conditioned three Triple Crown champions over his illustrious career -- up at night. "If it happens, it happens," he said matter of factly. "I feel blessed to have won it (Queens Plate) eight times. "Its a good-sized field, which it should be, and theres a lot of horses that it would be no surprise if they popped up and won, in my opinion. I think its going to be a tremendous race, to be honest." Its on New York Jets general manager John Idzik to make it happen. But thats if he even wants the 35-year-old free-agent safety. Reed, released Tuesday by Houston, cleared waivers Wednesday and is available to any team. Ryan, who coached Reed for several years in Baltimore, acknowledged that he and Idzik discussed the possibility of adding him. "If we did, I keep that conversation private and all that kind of stuff," Ryan said. "But part of due diligence, if youve coached a player, Im sure you would want that input. So, did we have it? I think its safe to say yes." Reed missed the Texans first two games after hip surgery and was relegated to a backup role in recent games, making just 16 tackles. He was unhappy not starting in Houston after signing a three-year, $15 million deal in the off-season after 11 years in Baltimore. Reed also criticized the team for being outplayed and outcoached after the Texans seventh straight loss last Sunday. Nike Free 5.0 Flyknit Uk. The Jets have the NFLs 26th-ranked pass defence, but Ryan insisted he is pleased with his current group of safeties, including Dawan Landry, Jaiquawn Jarrett and Antonio Allen -- whom the coach said has "a chance to be really good." But that might not prevent Ryan from wanting to add Reed, who was one of his favourites and is mentioned as one of the leagues greatest players at his position. "Its a logical question," Ryan said. "Look, the way I am, I could say absolutely yes, I would like him on our team. And Ill say that knowing you guys know me." Ryan quickly mentioned former Jets such as Brandon Moore, Alan Faneca, Trevor Pryce and Damien Woody as guys hed always like to have playing for him. "Anybody that Ive ever coached, that bled for me," Ryan said, "I want them." The mother of New York Rangers forward Martin St. Nike Roshe One Rojas . Louis has died. "We send our deepest condolences to Martin St. Louis on the passing of his mother, France. Our thoughts are with the St. Louis family," the Rangers posted Friday on the team Twitter account. The Rangers are in Pittsburgh for Game 5 of their second-round series with the Penguins. New York trails the series 3-1. But Paul Osbaldiston, Hamiltons assistant special teams and kicking coach, said the team still relished the championship game workout. With some help from Mother Nature and the constant boost from my refrigeration system, we will be skating on our backyard rink in November for the first time EVER. Monday was a full work day. The liner was put down, the mat was plumbed and installed and the chiller unit was fired up for the first time this season. To build up the first layer of ice, I flooded multiple times on Day 1 - using a light spray to ensure each flood was completely freezing before repeating the process. Tuesday - for professional reasons beyond my control - was a write-off. But in between calls, texts and emails, we attacked the rink on Wednesday to bring the ice up to a nice base and ready for more aggressive flooding. Hampered by a head cold, I sneezed and wheezed my way through a few more floods late Wednesday night to make sure I would be on schedule too kick in to the finishing stage on Thursday. Roshe Two Mujer. . Now this stage requires some serious manual labour. It includes surrounding the rink frame with another run of 2 x 10s before installing the 4 x 8 boards below the netting in what has been transformed over the years into the "shooting zone." Once the boards have been installed, the flooding will resume - using mostly hot water to melt away imperfections. I will shave the problem areas with a heavy, razor-sharp scraper in between the hot-floods to give it a game ready finish. Im not going to lie, this has been a tough week. But working outdoors and watching how quickly the rink now comes together definitely has its therapeutic benefits.  Check out a few photos in the gallery. More pics to come! Denver Broncos 1 (31) - Bradley Roby, CB, Ohio State; 2 (56) - Cody Latimer, WR, Indiana; 3 (95) - Michael Schofield, OT, Michigan; 5 (156) - Lamin Barrow, OLB. Guillermo Celis Colombia Jersey . LSU; 6 (207) - Matthew Paradis, OC, Boise State; 7 (242) - Corey Nelson, OLB, Oklahoma Top Picks Analysis: The rich got a little richer as John Elway laced a pair of doubles that could turn out to be much more despite his relatively poor draft positioning. Denver has totally revamped its shaky secondary in the offseason, first adding lockdown corner Aqib Talib and safety T.J. Ward in free agency before drafting talented Ohio State corner Bradley Roby with the 31st overall pick. Roby had top-20 talent but his stock took a hit because he was inconsistent with the Buckeyes and had a high-profile off-the-field incident days before the draft. Lengthy second-round wide receiver Cody Latimer shapes up as the potential replacement for the departed Eric Decker, while third-round offensive tackle Michael Schofield should provide immediate depth and could turn into a starter down the line if he hits the weight room hard. Best Value Pick: Latimer needs to sharpen his route-running skills but he has a chance to do some special things with Peyton Manning throwing the ball to him. "You just need to get in the hip pocket of Peyton Manning," NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock said. "What a great situation for this young man. Hes a height/weight specimen. He needs to learn how to run routes and separate from defenders." Questionable Calls: Schofield is probably not athletic enough to play on the edge right now and he lacks the functional football strength to kick inside. There were better options on the board for Elway. Summary: The Broncos helped themselves at two need positions (corner and wide receiver) and generally scored well on the value meter throughout the process. FINAL GRADE: B Undrafted rookie free agent signings: DE Kenny Anunike, Duke; OLB Shaquil Barrett, Colorado State; RB Kapri Bibbs, Colorado State; WR Isaiah Burse, Fresno State; P Steven Clark, Auburn; RB Brennan Clay, Oklahoma; DT Mister Cobble, Michigan State; WR Bennie Fowler, Michigan State; WR Greg Hardin, North Dakota State; DE Greg Latta, Purdue; QB Bryn Renner, North Carolina; OT Aslam Sterling, Kansas; CB Jordan Sullen, Tulane; RB Juwan Thompson, Duke; CB Louis Young, Georgia Tech Kansas City Chiefs 1 (23) - Dee Ford, DE, Auburn; 3 (87) - Phillip Gaines, CB, Rice; 4 (124) - DeAnthony Thomas, RB, Oregon; 5 (163) - Aaron Murray, QB, Georgia; 6 (193) - Zach Fulton, OG, Tennessee; 6 (200) - Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, OT, McGill; Top Picks Analysis: Despite a desperate need for speed at the wide receiver position Kansas City went edge pass rusher at No. 23 overall, taking Auburn defensive end Dee Ford. On paper Ford projects as an outside linebacker in the 3-4 defense the Chiefs play but Kansas City already has a pair of stars at the position -- Tamba Hali and Justin Houston. The Chiefs didnt have a second-round pick and addressed depth at the cornerback position in the third by adding lengthy Rice cornerback Phillip Gaines, who should fit in as an option behind starters Sean Smith and Brandon Flowers, although Flowers is reportedly on the trading block. Best Value Pick: Fourth-round running back DeAnthony Thomas shapes up as a nice replacement for Dexter McCluster, who left for Tennessee in free agency. The 5-foot-9 Thomas could be an explosive third-down back and an excellent return specialist. Questionable Calls: At just 6-foot-2 and 252 pounds there is no way Ford can play the five-technique in the 3-4 so hes going to be stuck behind both Houston, who is signed through next season, and Hali, who is locked up through 2015, for now. A speedy wide receiver would have been more helpful, at least for 2014. Summary: Ford and Gaines probably wont help all that much until a year or two down the line. The Chiefs seemed to do better in the middle rounds where they got their replacement for McCluster in Thomas, and nabbed a solid developmental quarterback prospect in Aaron Murray. FINAL GRADE: B- Undrafted rookie free agent signings: RB Charcandrick West, Abilene Christian; WR Albert Wilson, Georgia State; RB James Baker, Idaho; OL Ben Gottschalk, SMU; DB David Van Dyke, Tennessee State; S Daniel Sorensen, BYU; RB Joey Demartino, Utah State; LB Ben Johnson, Tennessee-Martin; C Cole Pensick, Nebraska; K Cairo Santos, Tulane; WR Darryl Surgent, Louisiana Lafayette; S Kacy Rodgers, Miami; C Vyncent Jones, Utah; QB Jon Jennings, Saginaw Valley State; DT Kona Schwenke, Notre Dame; G Stetson Burnett, Tulsa; DT Kenneth Carter, Auburn; DE Shawn Shupperd, Eastern Kentucky; CB Tevrin Brandon, Monmouth; OL Will Latu, Abilene Christian; LB Brandon Denmark, Florida A&M Oakland Raiders 1 (5) - Khalil Mack, OLB, Buffalo; 2 (36) - Derek Carr, QB, Fresno State; 3 (81) - Gabe Jackson, OG, Mississippi State; 4 (107) - Justin Ellis, DT, Louisiana Tech; 4 (116) - Keith McGill, CB, Utah; 7 (219) - Travis Carrie, CB, Ohio; 7 (235) - Shelby Harris, DE, Illinois State; 7 (247) - Jonathan Dowling, SS, Western Kentucky Top Pick Analysis: The Raiders are almost always wild cards when it comes to the NFL Draft but the organization took a far more conventional approach in 2014. Oakland didnt waver at No. 5 overall when Buffalo linebacker Khalil Mack, universally regarded as one of the best four players in the draft, fell to them. The Raiders certainly had bigger needs like quarterback but general manager Reggie McKenzie wasnt spooked by that and stayed true to his board. Oakland was rewarded for its astute work early in the draft when signal caller Derek Carr fell to the second round and was still available at No. 36 overall. "A lot of teams thought he was the best pure thrower in draft," NFL Network Draft analyst Mike Mayock said of Carr. In the third round the Raiders were able to bolster the interior of their offensive line by selecting Mississippi State guard Gabe Jackson, who has a very high football IQ and projects as a starter early in his career. Best Value Pick: Keith McGill, a fourth-round pick out of Utah, is a Brandon Browner-sized cornerback who could excel in press-man coverage, Questionable Calls: There really wasnt much to quibble about in this draft but if you have to take issue with something, look to the seventh round where defensive end Shelby Harris probably wasnt a draftable commodity. Summary: McKenzie seems to be making the most of his third and possibly final chance to turn things around in Oakland. Mack was in the conversation to be the No. 1 overall pick while Carr is a solid developmental prospect at QB and Jackson should be a rather useful addition. DRAFT GRADE: A Undrafted rookie free agent signings: FB Karl Williams, Utah; WR Mike Davis, Texas; TE Scott Simonson, Assumption; RB George Atkinson, Notre Dame; WR D.J. Coles, Virginia Tech; TE Jake Murphy, Utah; OT Danny Kistler, Montana; WR Noel Grigsby, San Jose State LB Carlos Fields, Winston Salem State; DE Austin Flynn, Arkansas; QB Rob Henry, Purdue San Diego Chargers 1 (25) - Jason Verrett, CB, TCU; 2 (50) - Jeremiah Attaochu, OLB, Georgia Tech; 3 (89) Chris Watt, OG, Notre Dame; 5 (165) - Ryan Carrethers, NT, Arkansas State; 6 (201) - Marion Grice, RB, Arizona State; 7 (240) - Tevin Reese, WR, Baylor Top Picks Analysis: The Chargers went into this draft hoping to improve on their 29th-ranked and AFC- worst pass defense. TCU cornerback Jason Verrett is undersized at 5-foot-9 but shapes up as a Captain Munnerlyn-type, a player who battles enough to compete on the outside during early downs before moving into the slot and becoming a difference maker on obvious passing downs. San Diego moved up in the second round to take Georgia Tech outside linebacker Jeremiah Attaochu, a high-motored edge player with significant pass rushing upside. In the third round the Chargers took heady Notre Dame offensive guard Chris Watt, a very experienced college player who is a great technician and should develop into a solid starter. Best Value Pick: San Diego needed a true nose tackle and was able to get one in the fourth round by taking Arkansas States Ryan Carrethers, a 340-pound, NFL-Strong two-down player. Questionable Calls: The Chargers made four really sound picks before reaching a bit in the later rounds. Seventh-round wide receiver Tevin Reese for instance is not really a legitimate NFL prospect. Summary: Chargers general manager Tom Telesco didnt have a ton of picks to work with but he generally made sound, prudent decisions when it was his turn. FINAL GRADE: B Undrafted rookie free agent signings: S Alden Darby, Arizona State; DE Colton Underwood, Illinois State; DT Tenny Palepoi, Utah; DT Ricky Tjong-A-Tjoe, Boise State; TE Mike Flacco, New Haven; WR Javontee Herndon, Arkansas; RB D.J. Adams, Portland State; CB Greg Ducre, Washington; WR Brelon Chancellor, North Texas; OT Ian White, Boston College; P Chase Tenpenny, Nevada; OT Jeremiah Sirles, Nebraska; LB Alvin Scioneaux, Wofford; G D.J. Jeff Stoughtons 11th Canadian mens curling championship is a bit of a homecoming. Solomon Hill Pelicans Jersey . Kamloops, B.C., the host city of this years Tim Hortons Brier, is where he won his first Canadian mens curling crown in 1996. He has won twice since -- the last in 2011 -- and is a two-time world champion. "Its kind of special being able to come back after so many years to a place with some great memories," he said in an interview. "Its pretty cool and the team is really looking forward to getting on with the week." The Brier starts Saturday and runs to March 9. Last year Stoughton lost the Brier final in Edmonton 11-4 to Brad Jacobs and his Northern Ontario rink. Stoughton had a disappointing 3-4 finish at the Olympic Curling Trials in December, as Jacobs went undefeated in claiming the right to wear Canadas colours in Sochi. Stoughton had lots of company. No one could slow the juggernaut from Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.. "There was only one happy team coming out of those trials and that was obviously Jacobs," said Stoughton. "We just sort of decompressed for a few weeks and then got right back at it, had a great Skins Game, great fun Continental Cup with the guys, and then just carried right through to the Safeway championship in Winnipeg." In this years Brier field -- with both Jacobs and Alberta veteran Kevin Martin absent -- Stoughton and Albertas Kevin Koe are favourites. Manitoba has a record 27 wins at the Brier, followed closely by Alberta with 25. Koe is representing Alberta this year for the third time, after beating Martin 7-5 to take the provincial title. Koe won the Brier in 2010, his first appearance, and went on to win a world championship. Just getting out of Alberta is tough for Koe, who curls out of Calgary. "Youve got to get through one of the top teams in the world in Kevin Martin and its definitely not realistic to think you can do that every year," he said. He recognizes hes going to be one of the favourites along with Stoughton but says thats no different than any other year and the rest of the field may be deeper than some suspect. "Theres quite a few teams that a lot of people dont know about that I think will do pretty good, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Quebec, maybe even the Territories. I think its a pretty tough field actually." Theres maybe a little family pride creeping in there. For the third time in five years, hell be joined at the Brier by brother Jamie, who skips the Northwest Territories-Yukon entry. Jamie Koe is making his eighth appearance. In 2012, the brothers met in the 3 vs. 4 Page playoff. Kevin won and Jamie later lost to Manitobas Rob Fowler in the bronze-medal match but it was still a strong finish for a Territories team. Saskatchewan is led by 2003 World Junior champ Steve Laycock, back for his second appearance as skip at the Canadian championship with a new team of Kirk Muyres, Colton Flasch and Dallan Muryes. Jean-Michel Menard is back for his eighth try after becoming just the second skip from Quebec to win the championship in 2006. His lineup consists of Martin Crete, Eric Sylvain and brother Philippe Menard. One of the only new faces this year is Ontarios Greg Balsdon, who stopped Glenn Howard from making his ninth straight appearance at the Brier. "I dont want to say we lucked out because weve had good games but theyve obviously beaten us more than weve beaten them," Balsdon said of the final, that saw Howard miss with his last rock and give up the winning point. Balsdon is new to the Canadian mens championship. He was part of the Cory Heggestad-led team that won the 2013 Canadian Mixed, but he says this feels bigger. "It feels just amazing. I dont think well truly appreciate it until were there," he said. Another team that has the chops to run with the best is also the hometown favourite -- John Morris and his B.C. rink, that features former skip and Kamloops native Jim Cotter at third. "Its exciting," says Cotter. "I think back 18 years ago when it was in Kamloops and Barry McPhee was the hometown team and I remember watching in the crowd there and I was pretty excited for those guys. . . Here we are 18 years later and Ive got the same opportunity." They made it all the way to the final against Jacobs at the Olympic Trials by beating Martin. After a disappointing loss, they took a few weeks off during the holidays to regroup but Cotter says they took good things out of the trials into the provincial finals in B.C. The addition of the veteran Morris, now curling for his third province, has made a huge difference, Cotter says. "We really have clicked. Johns just a phenomenal guy on and off the ice." Jacobs, meanwhile, is still celebrating his Olympic gold-medal win. The schedule made it virtually impossible to compete for a berth in this years Brier, although starting in 2015 the previous years winner will get an automatic berth, something the women already do. With Jacobs out of the mix, 1996 Canadian junior champ Jeff Currie was able to shift the Northern Ontario title from Sault Ste. Marie to Thunder Bay with his team of Mike McCarville, Colin Koivula and Jamie Childs. Former Olympic champ Brad Gushue from Newfoundland and Labrador is still the headliner out of the Atlantic provinces and James Grattan is making his 11th appearance for New Brunswick. Eddie MacKenzie has led Prince Edward Island to the Brier for three of the last four years and Jamie Murphy is back after also representing Nova Scotia at the 2012 championship. Brier finalists each receive $40,000 in prize money, the bronze medallist gets $30,000 and the $20,000 goes to the fourth-place team. The 13-year veteran won a Stanley Cup with the Tampa Bay Lightning and also skated with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Atlanta Thrashers and Philadelphia Flyers. Kubina, 36, skated in 970 NHL games, where he had 110 goals and 276 assists. He also added 10 points in 51 playoff games. "Making my way to the NHL and playing in the best league in the world for 13 seasons has been a dream come true," said Kubina in an NHLPA statement. "I will be forever grateful for the experiences and friendships that I have gained over the course of my career, including capturing the Stanley Cup in Tampa in 2004." Tributes from several players were also included by the players association. "I would like to congratulate Pavel Kubina for his 14 years in the NHL, what a great accomplishment," said Flyers forward Vincent Lecavalier. "Pavel has always been a great teammate on and ooff the ice. Donatas Motiejunas Pelicans Jersey. "Pavel was one of the best defencemen I played with during my NHL career," said former Toronto teammate Mats Sundin. More importantly he was a great teammate and friend. I will always care about Pavel as one of my best friends." Fellow Czech Republic and Flyers teammate Jaromir Jagr added his thoughts as well. "I have great memories from when we played together on the national team at the Olympics, and also the World Championship in 2005, which we won," said Jagr. "It is sad that the Czech Republic is losing another great defenceman in the NHL, as he was a very experienced, quality hockey player." 1. Dennis Smith Jr. Blue Jersey . Demar DeRozan: If 129 points and 49 per cent shooting for the Lakers is any indication, it will be a challenge for the Raptors while DeRozan is out. When you lose a good player like this youre asking each guy to move up a notch and play for longer minutes in increased roles against better competition for big stretches. Usually it decreases your margin of error significantly and you get exposed. Without DeRozan, the Raps wont be able to outscore folks. Going to need better defence and be able to win ugly some nights. Good opportunity for many players to show what they have and at the same time Im sure Chicago, Washington and Cleveland are licking their chops at getting right back in the race for the top spots in the East. Tough blow to Toronto. 2. Nikola Mirotic (Bulls): Last five games hes playing an average of 28 minutes per game averaging 13 points and nine rebounds. Major step for him and the trust factor is huge considering coach Tom Thibodeau doesnt play a lot of guys--particularly young guys. Hes a terrific talent and the injuries to Taj Gibson and Joakim Noah opened the door for him and hes taken advantage. 3. Draymond Green( Warriors): Loved this guy at Michigan St. and hes developed into a nice pro. His numbers are sound, 12 points, seven assists with three assists and he has a wonderful feel for the game. Hes smart and reliable on the floor. Plays hard and tough. I like what he brings to the table and accepts his role in a guard dominated system. 4. Aron Baynes (Spurs): Baynes is a system guy who fits the rugged style that they want from his position. He has developed into a sound role player for them. He shoots close to 60 per cent getting you seven and five a game. Sets hard screens, competes defensively and gets after it inside. Another example of a guy that on many other teams might not even play yet here he has value. 5. Wilson Chandler (Nuggets): They have gotten hot as a team and hes one of those guys that doesnt get lots of mention yet is a good fit for their uptempo style. He has played really well of late averaging 16 and seven while shooting 51 per cent in his last five games. The eighth year pro will never be your option one or two but hes a nice complimentary piece that is consistent at what he does. That counts for something. New video, though, shows Tomlin inching closer to the field before Baltimore kickoff returner Jacoby Jones nearly collided with him in last Thursdays 22-20 win by the Ravens. KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh released video Monday indicating Tomlin took a sizable step toward the field as Jones broke into the open, and didnt move until Jones was nearly on top of the coach. Tomlin actually put his right foot on green grass as part of a stutter step move out of harms way. It wasnt early enough to stop Jones from moving to his right just before being tackled by Pittsburghs Cortez Allen after a 73-yard return. Tomlin was not penalized, though he is facing disciplinary action. Tomlin said following the game he was watching the play unfold on one of the scoreboards and lost his "placement" on the field. "I do it quite often, like everybody else in the National Football League," Tomlin said. "I was wrong, I accept responsibility for it." Steelers safety Ryan Clark defended Tomlin, saying being on the field is common even though rules require players, coaches and support staff to stand behind a large whhite strip of grass that separates the field from the benches. Dennis Smith Jr. Womens Jersey. "Im always on the field. I sit on the field, but I try to sit on it away from anything," Clark said Monday. The 12-year veteran said he stepped onto the field while Pittsburghs offence tried a potential tying 2-point conversion against the Ravens in the final minutes "so I could see." Clark added there was no malice in Tomlins actions. "There was no intent at all," Clark said. "When he noticed he was in the way, he got out of the way. If he tripped (Jones), tackled him, itd be a different story." The NFL fined the New York Jets $100,000 in 2010 when cameras caught strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi tripping a Miami player on the sideline. Alosi was suspended by the Jets and eventually resigned after the season. Jones said after the game that "if I was (Tomlin), I would do the same thing" and didnt blame the coach for Jones inability to score. That doesnt mean Jones is ruling out the idea Tomlin knew what he was doing. "Before I got to him, he was halfway on the field," Jones said. "He gave me a little juke, and I tried to juke him." ___ AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys Jerseys From China Wholesale NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

Seedorf made the announcement at Brazilian club Botafogo, where he has been playing. "The next step for me is as the coach of Milan," Seedorf told reporters. AC Milan told The Associated Press that the clubs former midfielder will sign a contract, but that the formalities would follow his arrival in Italy on Thursday. The 37-year-old Dutchman won the Champions League twice with AC Milan, and also won Europes top club title with Ajax and Real Madrid. AC Milan has been struggling in Serie A, squandering a two-goal lead in a 4-3 loss on Sunday against Sassuolo. The club is 11th in the standings and six points clear of the relegation zone. "The decision was made during the day, but the evening was difficult," Seedorf said. "I told my daughters at dinner, and it was relaxed. There were no cons. There are no cons. " In Italy, AC Milan spokesman Riccardo Coli told the AP that Seedorf "will sign and once he signs then well decide when the presentation will be." Seedorf has no formal coaching experience and will rely on his popularity and respect among fellow players to guide him at the beginning. "Unfortunately, the life of a player is not forever," he said. Asked about the biggest challenge, he replied: "The most difficult thing is always adjusting. Here and there, people and cultures are different; the cultures of the football, of the clubs." Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti gave his former player a strong endorsement. "I coached him," Ancelotti said. "Hes got a strong personality and he will be capable of handling this new experience. He knows the club well and I think Milan has taken this decision in the same manner as it has with (Arrigo) Sacchi or (Fabio) Capello. Its always turned out well for them. I wish the best of luck to Seedorf and Milan." CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Johnny Cueto fanned nine in seven innings on Saturday, and Brayan Pena singled through a drawn-in infield for the only run, leading the Cincinnati Reds to a 1-0 victory over the Washington Nationals that ended a seven-game losing streak. Jay Bouwmeester Blues Jersey . Cincinnati ended its longest losing streak in five years by getting several good defensive plays and another dominating performance by its All-Star starter. Cueto (11-6) gave up four hits and walked three. Left-hander Aroldis Chapman pitched out of a two-on, two-out threat in the eighth and finished for his 22nd save in 24 chances. He extended his streak of at least one strikeout in his last 43 appearances, the longest by a reliever in the majors since 1900. The Reds offence has been in a deep slump, leading to Cincinnatis worst losing streak coming out of the All-Star break since 1991. They managed only four hits during a 4-1 loss on Friday night. They got four hits again on Saturday, but this time it was enough. Penas single through the left side of a drawn-in infield in the fifth inning made the difference against left-hander Gio Gonzalez (6-6), who gave up four hits and fanned eight in seven innings. He has been tough on the Reds throughout his career. He was 2-0 in his previous four starts against Cincinnati with a 1.00 ERA, allowing three earned runs and fanning 32 in 27 innings. The Reds ended a slump that had dropped them back to .500 for the first time since June 24. Cueto had the most to do with it, holding down a team that hit him hard the last time around. He fanned the side in the third and sixth innings, leaving after throwing his 103rd pitch. The right-hander had his roughest outing of the season on May 20 in Washington, where he gave up a season-high eight runs in 5 1-3 innings of a 9-4 loss. Chris Heisey set up Cincinnatis run in the fifth. He led off with a double -- only the Reds second hit off Gonzalez -- and stole third base with one out. Pena singled through the hole at shortstop. Pena also threw out Ian Desmond as he tried to steal second base after a leadoff walk in the ninth. Two exceptional plays in the Reds outfield prevented early runs. Centre fielder Billy Hamilton ran down Adam LaRoches fly with two runners aboard in the first. Right fielder Jay Bruce got to Wilson Ramos fly to the warning track and doubled Bryce Harper up at first base in the second inning. Harper got caught in a rundown between second and third base in the seventh inning after rounding too far on Ramos infield single. NOTES: RHP Doug Fister (9-2) starts the final game of the series against Cincinnatis Mat Latos (2-2), who will be making his eighth start since coming off the DL. ... Nationals leadoff hitter Denard Span singled off Cueto, leaving him 5 for 10 career against the right-hander. Span is 9 for 14 in his last three games overall. ... Reds SS Zack Cozart was hitless, extending his slump to 0 for 20. The two-time champion of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 proved once again he can figure it out on an oval, too. He showed that Friday night as he picked up the win in the Alberta Has Energy 300 in the inaugural event at Edmonton International Raceway. Ranger tied the series all-time record with his 19th career win, and won back-to-back races for the first time since August 2009 following his victory on the road course at Circuit ICAR in Quebec last week. It was also his first oval win since 2009, and fourth overall. "At the beginning of the day we didnt have a really good car, so we improved lap after lap," Ranger said "During the race my car was really fantastic." The race was stretched to 316 laps around the quarter-mile bullring following a late caution that involved early race leader Alex Tagliani, and required Ranger, who took the lead on Lap 269, to hold off LP Dumoulin and Jason Hathaway on the final restart. "The pass with Alex [Tagliani] was a little bit tough because it was almost one [racing] line here," Ranger said. "He did a little mistake and I was able to take him in [Turn] 3." Dumoulin and Hathaway waged a battle throughout the last two laps of the race for second and Dumoulin came out ahead, followed by Hathaway, J.R. Fitzpatrick aand D. Jaden Schwartz Jersey. J. Kennington. Joey McColm, Larry Jackson, Scott Steckly, rookie Stefan Rzadzinski and Noel Dowler completed the top 10. Fitzpatrick, Kennington and Steckly were all two laps down at different points during the race and rallied back for top-10 finishes. Tagliani, who won the pole position for the race earlier in the day, finished 13th. He led a career-high 268 laps. Fitzpatrick and Dumoulin are now tied for the season points lead after four races at 162 apiece while Rangers back-to-back wins have bumped him up to third, 12 tallies behind the co-leaders. Dumoulin has finished top-five in all four races this year, two more than any other driver. "Thats our first podium on an oval, and the guys have been working really hard," Dumoulin said after finishing second. "We were within sight for the last run. I knew being in second was not a good spot for the restart at the end, obviously we had to fight for that spot, but we kept our head up and made it happen." Ranger now shares the Canadian Tire Series career wins record with Kennington. That accomplishment came one week after he tied Fitzpatrick for the series all-time poles mark at 14. The race was slowed by 11 cautions for 94 laps, including two red flags. The Alberta Has Energy 300 will air on TSN on Sunday, July 20 at 3pm et/Noon pt and on RDS2 on Saturday, July 26 at 3pm et/Noon pt.
