But that was a reaction to their upcoming schedule, which features a short week of prep before next week’s Thanksgiving game.“I think I told everybody that somewhere around Thanksgiving, having three games in 12 days, or whatever it is, we鈥檒l probably have some walk-through type practice in there to try to conserve ourselves physically here,” Patricia said. “I would say especially with a Carolina group that鈥檚 obviously a real physical football team coming in here and we鈥檙e coming off a stretch where we鈥檝e been on the road Game DJ Moore Jersey , playing some physical games. The Ravens are close to improving their secondary yet again. After introducing Pro Bowl safety Earl Thomas earlier Friday Brandon Carr Jersey 2019 , the Ravens are nearing completion of a deal with cornerback Justin Bethel, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports.Bethel will join Thomas, strong safety Tony Jefferson and cornerbacks Marlon Humphrey, Jimmy Smith, Brandon Carr and Tavon Young. The Ravens, of course, will face Jarvis Landry, Odell Beckham, JuJu Smith-Schuster and A.J. Green twice next season.Bethel, 28, spent last season with the Falcons after six seasons in Arizona. He played 14 games last season, seeing no action on defense, but 259 snaps on special teams. In his career, Bethel has 151 tackles Daylon Mack Baltimore Ravens Jersey , 19 pass breakups, four sacks and four interceptions. He has led his teams in special teams tackles for six consecutive seasons and made three Pro Bowls as a special teamer. ESTShareTweetShareShareOpinion: In sticking with Lamar Jackson, Harbaugh made the right decision Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY SportsLeading up to Sunday’s wild card matchup against the Chargers, much anticipation surrounded Lamar Jackson’s first-career playoff game. Jackson entered the game as the youngest quarterback ever to start a postseason contest, and he evidently looked the part. Jackson was rattled early and often by the Chargers defense. He fumbled on back-to-back possessions in the first quarter, and while neither resulted in a turnover, they were careless mistakes that prevented Baltimore from gaining any momentum. After connecting with Willie Snead IV for a first-down conversion on the Ravens opening drive, Jackson completed just two more passes over the next two quarters. He began the fourth quarter having completed three of nine passes for 25 yards. For most of Sunday afternoon, Jackson was not good. If you look past his fourth quarter showing, it was a nightmarish debut. After the game Cheap Daylon Mack Jersey , he took responsibility for his poor performance and owned up to it. “We just played like we didn’t want to be here,” Jackson said. “I did, not my team. I feel like I played poorly.” Jackson fumbled three times and tossed an interception that, while dropped by Chris Moore, was thrown slightly off-target. Amidst his struggles, fans on social media began pleading for Joe Flacco to enter the game. Chants of “We want Joe!” and loud boos could be heard throughout the stadium. While Harbaugh admittedly considered making a change at quarterback, he ultimately ended up keeping Jackson in the game, echoing that he gave the Ravens the best chance to win. Not only is he correct, but inserting Flacco into the game could easily have had adverse effects. Flacco had not played since Week 9 of the regular season after suffering a hip injury. Expecting him to enter a playoff contest mid-game and immediately spark a comeback against a top-flight defense is simply not realistic. While Flacco is a proven playoff performer, there’s no telling he would be able to replicate past performances against a top-flight Chargers defense. Flacco was frankly not very effective for much of this season and if he entered in the second half on Sunday, there likely would be some rust after a two-month absence.More importantly, Jackson was not the only reason for Baltimore’s struggles. The entire offense was subpar; the running game was ineffective, the receivers struggled with drops and separation, and the offensive line was manhandled. For much of the game White Joe Flacco Jersey , he was running for his life from Joey Bosa, Melvin Ingram, and other Chargers defenders. Jackson was sacked seven times, five of which came before the fourth quarter. Even more notable, however, was the poor offensive play-calling. After playing Baltimore just a few weeks ago, the Chargers were prepared for whatever the Ravens attempted to throw at them. Marty Mornhinwhig failed to make adjustments throughout the game. Would Flacco, whose 33 years old and coming off a hip injury, have had any more success than Jackson in evading the Chargers pass rush? Would he have made the offensive line block better and the receivers create separation? Could he have overcome poor play-calling? The answers to all these questions, simply put, is no. With Jackson at the helm, the Ravens led the league in rushing by a wide margin, won six of seven games, and captured their first division title since 2012. While they could have afforded to deviate slightly from their gameplan on Sunday Joe Flacco Jersey 2019 , the Ravens had developed an identity and winning formula. In all likelihood, the Ravens aren’t even in the position they were yesterday without Lamar Jackson’s ascendance this season. With Flacco at the helm, Baltimore was 4-5 and riding a three-game losing streak heading into the bye week. For all his imperfections as a pure quarterback, Jackson earned the right to remain in the game. In order for him to improve going forward, it's important that he gain experience in playoff situations and learn to play through his mistakes. Pulling him from the game could have had a damaging effect to his confidence. In the fourth quarter, he threw for 156 yards and two touchdowns, nearly willing the Ravens to a come-from-behind victory. Although it came against softer, prevent defense from the Chargers, Jackson bounced back from a poor start and demonstrated both composure and mental toughness. “I don’t think Joe would have played any better in the two-minute,” said Harbaugh. “Lamar is our quarterback of the future, there’s no question about that.”

It’s silly season Black Devonta Freeman Jersey , but we can’t totally discount the possibility of the Falcons snagging the Houston DT just yet."The Falcons have bulked up at defensive tackle to the extent that they arguably have no immediate need at the position. Grady Jarrett is one of the best young DTs in the NFL and the team has run-stopping and pass rushing options between the likes of Tyeler Davison, Jack Crawford, Deadrin Senat and Ra’Shede Hageman, and their rotation is already better on paper than it was a year ago. That said, they’d blow up some of that depth in a heartbeat to add Ed Oliver, and it appears we can’t dismiss that possibility just yet.Tony Pauline at Draft Analyst has the same kind of spotty track record everyone does making predictions this time of year, but he’s nailed a handful of Falcons predictions over the years, including the move up for Takk McKinley in 2017. Last Thursday, he specifically linked Atlanta to a move up for Ed Oliver, a draft rumor that has never entirely gone away. Assuming the interest is genuine--and Pauline himself suggests it's far from a lock to happen--the question is what it would take to get there. The Jets have been linked to Oliver in recent days, but the Jets also seem desperate to move down and may be trying to gin up interest. The Raiders at ,4# Buccaneers at #5, Jaguars at #7, and Bills at #8 are all threats to take Oliver, too, and the Falcons would have to probably at least get to #8 to get him. They might have to go as high as ,1# which would be a costly sort of move to make, and I still think they'd be hesitant to do anything that will cost them picks next year.I wouldn’t argue against Oliver being worth the cost, because if he lives up to his billing as Aaron Donald Lite this team will have one of the most lethal defensive tackle duos in the NFL in a league where great interior offensive linemen are increasingly hard to come by. The Falcons have taken pains to take care of short-term needs in case they do make a move up, but it’ll ultimately depend on the cost to get this thing done if Oliver is the guy that Thomas Dimitroff declared he knew the team wanted last week.Stay tuned, and we’ll see if this is more than just the smoke we’re accustomed to seeing this time of year. Week Nine of the 2018 NFL season kicked off on Thursday with a 49ers win and it continues with 11 more games on Sunday, which means that the 22 teams in those games submitted their final injury reports of the week on Friday.Questionable players are uncertain to play, doubtful players are unlikely to play and out should be self-explanatory. Rebilas-USA TODAY SportsWith the off-season upon us the Arizona Cardinals are entering into a truly new era, as the rookies join the veterans and the team is together for the first time in the Kliff Kingsbury era.Well, most of the team.On the day voluntary offseason workouts begin, the Arizona Cardinals were missing a number of key veterans.Joining the much maligned Patrick Peterson with some time away from football are veterans Larry Fitzgerald and Terrell Suggs Youth Jamar Taylor Jersey , and likely paternity leave candidate David Johnson.Obviously it’s less than ideal to have any players missing, but it’s not uncommon.Especially because of the date changes that happened when the Cardinals decided to push everything back a week in April. Outside of Johnson, I’m guessing a lot of plans were in place already. It’s not overly concerning, but it would be nice to have some of the top vets there to set the tone. All in all, no harm, no foul. It’s what so many Arizona Cardinals fans and pundits want to see the team do with the first overall pick because it would allow them to address the bevy of needs the team still has. While I don’t subscribe to that thought, I do understand that is a possibility. If the Cardinals were to trade down and miss out on Nick Bosa and Quinnen Williams, who are some names to know? That’s the next group of players we’ll be going through here. The guys in the 4-6 range who could be in the play if the Arizona Cardinals move down.Josh Allen, LB, Kentucky - Allen is one of the most productive college pass rushers in the nation.Allen grew in each of his years at Kentucky and offers a balance of size and speed that has NFL teams licking their chops.Allen is an explosive pass rusher who can run the edge and has enough hand usage right now to be effective coming off the side. That’s what Allen does, turn the corner with ease.Allen is also a deft linebacker in coverage as well Youth Benson Mayowa Jersey , which is what has so many so high on him as a prospect. The reason Allen is not getting billing as a top pick, why he is still mentioned outside of the top two, is because there are some deficiencies. Not that Allen won’t be a good player, the question becomes if he is an edge rusher or more of an Anthony Barr type off ball linebacker.Again, not that that would be a bad thing, but it would be a slight downturn in value if you are drafting that at one or two.Allen would be a nice fit in Arizona because he could learn behind someone like Terrell Suggs and Chandler Jones the best way to play on the edge Stitched Andre Smith Jersey , but could also give them some insurance if the Haason Reddick experiment does not work out.

During the middle of the season Womens Kyler Murray Jersey , rookie QB Josh Rosen alluded to the “ghost”...and said it was still “swirling around the building.”Well, what happens with BA this off-season could have a significant impact on the Cardinals’ new coaching staff.Word is circling around NFL media sites that Tampa Bay Bucs’ GM Jason Licht wants to interview Arians for their vacant head coaching job.BA, who previously said he only wanted to interview with the Cleveland Browns, has already indicated that because he knows Jason Licht, he will listen. In fact, the more BA thinks about coaching in Tampa, it’s a short ride to his dream home in Georgia, which would likely thrill his wife, Christine. If Licht tabs BA—-one would expect BA to hire Freddie Kitchens or Byron Leftwich as his OC—-and hire Todd Bowles, of course Byron Murphy Jersey , as his DC.The one way for the Cardinals to interrupt that potential inevitability would be to hire Kitchens or Bowles as head coach. If Kitchens is the guy—-then, the question becomes who his DC would be. If Gregg Williams doesn’t get a head coaching offer, he will be in high demand. If Kitchens cannot lure Williams, then perhaps he could tab Vance Joseph or Teryl Austin (Bengals’ DC).If Bowles is the guy—-then, he most likely would want to bring OC Jeremy Bates and RBC Stump Mitchell with him. Bates is a West Coast offensive QB/OC guru whom many praised this year for the job he did with rookie Sam Darnold. Imagine that—-in one year going from Darnold to Rosen? If reports are true that Steve Keim is being retained as GM, then Kitchens and Bowles would likely be high on his list, due to his familiarity with them and their mutual affinity for BA.Keim would like that comfort zone. The question is—-would Michael Bidwill? What are your thoughts?Would you welcome past members of BA’s coaching tree such as Kitchens and/or Bowles?Or—-would you prefer a fresh start in a different direction, like with Adam Gase, Matt LaFleur, Pete Carmichael Black D.J. Swearinger Jersey , Dirk Koetter or Zac Taylor?Or—-would you want a highly innovative college coach like Dabo Swinney (Clemson—-long shot, but hey, if he wins a 2nd NCAA Championship? Who knows?), Chris Peterson (Washington) or Matt Campbell (Iowa St.). It is the time of year where options abound for the Arizona Cardinals. While the search for a new head coach goes on, there is no question, they have the first pick of the 2019 NFL Draft and will be able to dictate how it unfolds. This is now more evident than ever with the fact that Dwayne Haskins has declared for the draft and looks to be the unquestioned top quarterback available. That has begged the question, would you listen to offers for the first overall pick?Obviously, you always listen, but some on the internet are already making fake trade proposals.Good friend of the program Zach Goodall of Locked on Jaguars wrote an article asking just that question. Here is his proposal to the Cardinals:Using the new(ish) trade value chart: Cardinals (1st Pick) 3000Jaguars (1st pick #7 overall) 1500, Jaguars (2nd pick #38) 580 points Black Budda Baker Jersey , Jaguars (3rd pick via LA Rams #93) 128 points, 2020 First = 3000 to 590So, if the Cardinals were to make this deal, they would be short about 800 points, but could make that up in 2019 with the Jaguars first pick.If the Jags pick 21 or higher (lower? I never know how to articulate that) meaning if the Jags miss the playoffs next year, the Cardinals will have a net positive return. If you change the compensation and add the Jags third this year, that doesn’t change things too much, as the Jags pick is only worth 245 points, or 117 more points, the equivalent to the 96th pick. There are going to be plenty of scenarios that we see Budda Baker Jersey 2019 , but for me, I don't want to see Arizona move past four, if the target for the number one is Dwayne Haskins. My personal belief, and I am not through too many prospects at this point, is that there are three prospects that you can hang your hat on:Nick Bosa, DE Ohio StateQuinnen Williams, DT AlabamaEd Oliver, DT HoustonSo, if you trade too low, you are missing one of those high end players. If your thought is that even going to seven you get one of the best players in the draft: Bosa Black Robert Nkemdiche Jersey , Q Williams, Oliver, then CB Greedy Williams or Byron Murphy, DT Jeff Simmons, OT Jonah Williams, LB Devin White, Edge Josh Allen, then feel convicted, but I think Bosa is the best player. What would you think of this trade option?

ATLANTA (AP) — The Falcons were struggling again Stitched Justin Bethel Jersey , and quarterback Matt Ryan was looking for something to spark the team.Ryan got just what he wanted from his teammate, linebacker Deion Jones.“That was awesome to get us going,” Ryan said. “I felt like the energy that really got everybody into it, and from that point forward we played really well.”Julio Jones made an acrobatic touchdown catch on a pass from Ryan, Deion Jones returned an interception for an early score, and Atlanta snapped a five-game losing streak with a 40-14 victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.Playing their final home game of the season, the Falcons (5-9) forced three turnovers and sacked Arizona quarterbacks seven times, a single-game season high for both teams. Arizona (3-11) has dropped two straight and five of six under first-year coach Steve Wilks.“I want to start out by saying I take full responsibility for what you saw out there tonight,” Wilks said. “It was unacceptable, not even close.”Julio Jones caught six passes for 82 yards, all in the first half. His 22-yard score in the closing seconds before intermission put the Falcons up 26-7. Jones beat Patrick Peterson’s bump-and-run coverage down the left sideline, turning the cornerback around and twisting around him to make a diving catch.Ryan ran for a 1-yard score early the second quarter and finished with 231 yards passing in his 100th career victory. Matt Bryant added two short field goals Youth Justin Bethel Jersey , and Tevin Coleman had a 43-yard TD run in the third quarter as Atlanta won for the first time since Week 9 at Washington.Grady Jarrett had two sacks for Atlanta, and Arizona’s run defenses allowed 215 yards to the NFL’s worst rushing attack.Playing behind a makeshift offense line that has lost six players to injured reserve, Arizona’s Josh Rosen was under duress all afternoon and finished with a 38.4 passer rating. The rookie quarterback got the Cardinals off to a fast start with running back David Johnson catching two long passes to set up a short TD run that made it 7-0, but Arizona was essentially done after Deion Jones scored a touchdown for the third time in eight career interceptions. In his fourth game back after spending most of the season sidelined by a foot injury, Jones forced a 7-all tie in the first quarter, snagging Vic Beasley’s batted ball from the air in the flats and running 41 yards for Atlanta’s second defensive TD of the season.QUESTIONS IN THE DESERTIt feels like a couple of months have passed since Arizona enjoyed a season highlight under Wilks, a 20-17 win at Green Bay two weeks ago.The Cardinals were flat last week at home against Detroit and gave themselves almost no chance at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Even with so many injuries, the performance was so uninspiring that Wilks might be wondering if he will return for a second season.Arizona showed why it began the day with the league’s worst scoring offense, worst passing attack and second-worst ground game.“Obviously on the road, you can’t spot people points and turn the football over like we did today,” star receiver Larry Fitzgerald said. “It was just an avalanche after the start.”KEY INJURIESJulio Jones injured his ribs on the TD catch and only played a few snaps in the third with the outcome all but assured. Jones missed practice one day this week with flu-like symptoms.Cardinals cornerback David Amerson and left tackle Joe Barksdale each left with concussion symptoms and didn’t return. Amerson collided with Falcons receiver Mohamed Sanu in the first. It wasn’t clear when Barksdale was hurt.Injured Atlanta running back Devonta Freeman likely won’t return this season, but he was on the sideline cheering on his teammates. Tight end Austin Hooper did not catch a pass and was only targeted once as he played through a sore knee he hurt last week at Green Bay.Johnson Stitched Jack Crawford Jersey , playing with a sore quadriceps, ran 11 times for 33 yards and caught three passes for 68.EYES ON THE PRIZEThe Falcons had a respite from season-long difficulty in creating takeaways. Brian Poole had an interception and combined with Jarrett on a strip-sack fumble recovery. Bruce Irvin had his best game with Atlanta, finishing with 1½ sacks and three QB hits.“It was good to come out and have a good showing on defense today, get a couple turnovers, a couple forced fumbles,” Jarrett said. “Deion Jones got a touchdown. So it was good to come out and make some stuff happen on D.”ALL DOUBT ERASEDBeginning the game with a less than 1 percent chance of making the playoffs, the Falcons were mathematically eliminated.“You make your bed throughout the year, and today was a good day for us as a team, but obviously not playing in the postseason is disappointing,” Ryan said. “But we’ll enjoy the win today and try to win these next two.”UP NEXTCardinals: Host the Los Angeles Rams next Sunday.Falcons: Visit Carolina next Sunday. One of the best Falcons quarterbacks, in an era where quarterbacking was impossible."Welcome to Forgotten Falcons, a 2019 offseason series where we remember some quality players who have been largely forgotten by the fanbase over the years. Time in Atlanta: 1968-1972Stats: 8,489 yards, 57% completion percentage, 57 touchdowns, 56 interceptions, 8.1 yards per attempt, 127 sacks In the year 1969, when Bob Berry enjoyed his best run on paper with the Atlanta Falcons, the game of football was a very different one than it is today. Even the worst quarterbacks in the year 2018 were putting up numbers that would have seemed eye-popping in 1991, but 1969 football may as well have been played on a different planet. Just nine of 16 NFL teams threw more touchdowns than interceptions that year, and the league high for passing touchdowns was 25. The league high for passing yardage was 3 Stitched Duke Riley Jersey ,158 yards, and and the league high completion percentage for a team was 56%, both managed by the San Francisco 49ers. If you could throw more touchdowns than interceptions, much less a lot more, you were doing pretty well. It makes a season like Roman Gabriel’s 1969 MVP campaign, where he threw for 24 touchdowns and 7 interceptions, look insanely impressive. And that’s where we enter Bob Berry. Steve Bartkowski was the first borderline great quarterback the Falcons had, Michael Vick was the most exciting, and Matt Ryan is pretty much agreed to be the best in team history at this point, the advantages of his era notwithstanding. But Berry was the first good, capable quarterback the Falcons had, and really the only one who consistently played at even a reasonably high level before Bart came along Youth Duke Riley Jersey , with a live arm and good ball placement for his era. That 1969 season stands out because he tossed 10 touchdowns versus two interceptions, going 4-3 in a year that also saw the immortal Randy Johnson managed 8/5 and Bruce Lemmerman managed 1/4. Berry had two lackluster seasons and a quality 1970 (16/13 with a nice 58% completion percentage) and a very solid 1971 that saw the Falcons earn a winning season for the first time in franchise history, as partially chronicled in the extremely cool video below. The Falcons wouldn’t be that successful again until 1977 with Bartkowski at the helm, and while Berry can’t take sole or even primary credit for that success, it was his pass to Ken Burrow in the team’s final game against the Saints that pushed them over the top. A guy like Berry is worth remembering because he played for a Falcons team that was legitimately bad, riddled with the kind of crippling holes that we take for granted the Falcons will at least partially fix in the modern era but were just part of this team’s identity in the early years. Despite the very real odds against him and having to mostly share time with a revolving door of lousy quarterbacks, Berry did solid work and is one of only a handful of quarterbacks to achieve even moderate success for the Falcons. He’s been justifiably overshadowed by Bartkowski, Vick, Ryan and even Chris Chandler and Chris Miller, but he’s worth remembering. I wasn’t around to watch Berry play, but I’m hoping that those of you who were will share your favorite memories and long-lost clips of him with the rest of us.

After coming off of arguably his most important victory this season Youth Tyus Bowser Jersey , there is a “real chance” that Ravens head John Harbaugh doesn’t sign an extension with the team. Peter King discussed Harbaugh’s possible departure after next season in his latest Football Morning in America column.“There’s a real chance that Harbaugh, 56, will not sign an extension, but rather coach his final season and take his chance on the market in 2020—or sign back with the Ravens,” King wrote. King compares the situation to Joe Flacco’s contract situation in 2012. Flacco famously won Super Bowl MVP and parlayed his playoff performance into a $120 million contract. The head coach is in his 11th year with the Ravens and has garnered a great deal of success. Since taking over in 2008 Stitched Marlon Humphrey Jersey , Harbaugh has a 103-72 (.589) record in the regular season and a 10-5 record (.667) in the playoffs. Adding in a Super Bowl win during the 2012 campaign, Harbaugh would’ve likely been a hot commodity in coaching searches this offseason. The Green Bay Packers recently fired Mike McCarthy and the Cleveland Browns did the same with Hue Jackson. Other jobs that could also be open are the Denver Broncos, Arizona Cardinals, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New York Jets Youth Marlon Humphrey Jersey , Cincinnati Bengals and the Miami Dolphins. He was also included in the discussion as being USC’s top target before current head coach Clay Helton was given a vote of confidence by athletic director Lynn Swann. Down the line with other coaching positions becoming available in a year or two, Harbaugh could figure to head to the college ranks, as his brother Jim Harbaugh did in 2015 when he became Michigan’s head coach. The elder Harbaugh reportedly makes $7 million a season with the Ravens and the younger one makes around the same figure at Michigan. With Nick Saban making $8.3 million at Alabama — and at one point, making $11 million —a marquee college football program could pay Harbaugh more to go down a level. However, with Bill Belichick Stitched Jaleel Scott Jersey , Jon Gruden, Pete Carroll, Sean Payton, Ron Rivera and Andy Reid making $7.75 million or more, Harbaugh could lock in with another NFL team for years to come. There is always a possibility that Harbaugh could sign an extension with the Ravens. Ensuing the 2017 season Youth Jaleel Scott Jersey , Harbaugh received another year on his deal to right the ship after missing the postseason for three consecutive years. With Baltimore rolling with a 5-1 record after the bye week and seeing success from Lamar Jackson early on, they may attempt to give Harbaugh long-term security within the organization. The Ravens are currently 9-6 and are first in the AFC North. Quarterback Lamar Jackson has been the center of discussions about the Ravens offense in recent months because of the varied opinions about how he will progress as a passer in his second season and beyond.Whatever questions exist on that front, Jackson still had a bigger hand in Baltimore’s trip to the playoffs than their other 2018 first-round pick. They drafted tight end Hayden Hurst with the 25th overall pick and then saw him go down with a stress fracture in his foot in August.Hurst would return in time to play in 12 games, but managed just 13 catches for 163 yards and a touchdown in those appearances. His chances of improving on that in 2019 should be helped by continued improvement on the health front.Hurst posted an x-ray of his foot with a screw in it on Instagram Tuesday and indicated that it had been removed because he’s now 100 percent.Nick Boyle and Maxx Williams are headed toward free agency, which leaves Hurst and 2018 third-round pick Mark Andrews as the tight ends under contract in Baltimore.

You can join the CSR group by following this link: CSR League 1Click the buttons under the Bud Light logo for ‘How to Play’ and ‘Rules & Prizes’. For CSR members the only prize is to be able to say you won. Which is some fun bragging for some of us. It looks like the game limits you to a single entry. I will give you two hints:The first hint is that you do not have to pick players that are playing this weekend in the Wild Card match ups. If you think the Super Bowl will be between the Chiefs and the Saints you can pick players from those two teams only and if you are right you will get the 4X multiplier for those players. The only draw back is you will get zero points in Week 1. If either those teams lose next week you are screwed. The second hint is that the rosters lock for the conference championships and Super Bowl. You better get it right with your conference championship roster. Here’s the current odds to win the Super Bowl for the playoff teams:So join in and create a team. You just might win something. Good luck to you! Remember when it was called the NFC Beast? Now Custom Donte Jackson Jersey , it’s a pussy cat.Washington leads the division at 2-2, followed by Dallas and Philadelphia at 2-3, New York at 1-4. The Giants host the Eagles — the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles, who have looked anything but title worthy so far — on Thursday night.Eagles coach Doug Pederson has cited “self-inflicted wounds” as a major reason for injury-riddled Philly’s struggles. His offensive coordinator, Mike Groh, concurs.“We obviously don’t condone those kinds of mistakes,” Groh says. “The guys that are responsible for that, we’ve talked to those guys. Those things can’t happen. I mean, they just can’t happen. That’s simple football. We’ve got to get out of the huddle, we’ve got to get lined up, and we’ve got to know where we’re supposed to be and what our assignment is. We’ve got to do a better job collectively of teaching that, and then when we get out there Donte Jackson Jersey Discount , everybody has to know what to do and where to line up. Those things have to be eliminated.”The Giants eliminated a lot of those things at Carolina last Sunday and made an impressive comeback, only to fall on Graham Gano’s 63-yard field goal with 1 second remaining.“These guys love to play the game, it’s their livelihood, but they certainly play it with great emotion and great passion and they just keep playing,” coach Pat Shurmur says.“As we get better — I think we played better last week — we need to find 63 more yards somewhere to get the win. But we played better and we’ve got to continue on that path. Then eventually it will crack.”Philadelphia, ranked 15th in the AP Pro32, is a 3-point favorite over the No. 28 Giants. What does the configuration of the schedule mean for the Texans?"As we learned last year J.J. Watt Jersey , the scheduling of the NFL season can make or break a team.Last year, the Texans could have been home for the NFL Playoffs with a bye if their Week 16 Eagles game took place earlier in the season, when Philadelphia was struggling.Although the schedule does not affect how well teams perform, it is significant in how teams shake out at the end of the season.Let’s break down the Texans’ 2019 schedule by dividing it into four quarters, with each quarter being comprised of four games.Weeks 1-4: @ Saints (MNF), vs. Jaguars, @ Chargers, vs. PanthersTo open up the season with the Saints on the road is a major YIKES!The last important NFL game to take place in New Orleans was the NFC Championship, where the Saints lost controversially and unexpectedly. Now the Saints will come marching in with all eyes on reversing their fortunes by beating the Texans for all of America to see on national TV.If it is any consolation, the Saints fell to the lowly Bucs during their home opener last year after losing the previous year in the playoffs to the Vikings in the Minnesota Miracle.I would not tab the Saints as an automatic win or loss just yet. It could be a benefit to play the Saints early in the season before they get into a rhythm.Or it could be the worst case scenario. As for the other games to begin the season, the Jaguars pose as a winnable game in Houston’s home opener, and playing the Chargers early in the season might also be a benefit. These are the games that players will miss with four-game PED suspensions or by being placed on the PUP list.I think 2-2 is difficult with this first foursome, but achievable. Weeks 5-8: vs. Falcons Christian Covington Jersey White , @ Chiefs, @ Colts, vs. RaidersThe home games in this stretch are winnable, but they are sandwiched around two very difficult road games against playoff teams from a year ago. This means that defeating the Falcons and Raiders will be two very important contests for the Texans, as the Chiefs and Colts games are two games the Texans will be expected to lose.If the Texans can go 2-2 in this quarter, it will be an accomplishment. Going 3-1 or 4-0 would be phenomenal, and the Texans would be considered as a playoff threat at this point in the season. If the Texans can get to 5-3, I’d be very content. 4-4 wouldn’t be bad either. 3-5 or worse is very possible and would worry me.Weeks 9-13: @ Jaguars (London), BYE, @ Ravens, Colts (TNF), Patriots (SNF)Here comes the true gauntlet in Houston’s schedule. The Texans play their first game in franchise history outside of North America when the team faces the Jags in LondonThe Jags are a beatable opponent, but it will be interesting to see how the Texans will adjust to playing in London against a team with a lot of players with London experience. It could cause the visitors to slip up and fumble a winnable game. After the team returns home and enjoys their bye Shane Lechler Jersey White , the toughest three-game stretch in the 2019 schedule awaits. All three opponents in Weeks 11-13 played extra football last season. The Ravens can improve in Year 2 of the Lamar Jackson era, and the Texans have never played particularly well in Baltimore. Then come the Colts and Pats, the two teams that have given the Texans the most trouble as of late, both of which will be played in primetime. It would be nice for this to be the time where the Pats hit their midseason slump or for the Colts to be ailing on a short week, but recent history suggests that neither will happen. If the Texans can get two wins out of this quarter of the season, I’ll be impressed.Weeks 14-17: vs. Broncos, @ Titans, @ Bucs, vs. TitansThe best part about Houston’s schedule is that four of the final six games take place at NRG Stadium.Kareem Jackson makes his return to Houston in Week 14 as the Broncos face his former Texans. The Broncos game could be a season-saving game if the Texans win, so the team will need to be sharp on that day. Then comes the unusual two games in three weeks stretch with the Titans and Bucs sandwiched in the middle. It’s very possible that the Titans could be eliminated from playoff contention at this point in the season, which will help the Texans chances. Then again, the Texans might also be eliminated from playoff contention if they cannot get past the prior midseason gauntlet. The Bucs on the road in December is an excellent part of the schedule. The Texans struggled last year playing the Eagles so close to Christmas. The coldest game of the year might come in Nashville during Week 15 or maybe Baltimore in Week 11.This final quarter is probably the easiest for the Texans, so if the team can stay in playoff contention for the first twelve games Braxton Miller Jersey White , they’ll have a great chance to make the playoffs with a favorable schedule to end the season. The Texans had the easiest schedule in the league last season based on win percentage. Now, their strength of schedule ranks fourth in the league at .527 based on last year’s strength of schedule. It’s definitely a big change, but the Texans’ win-loss record won’t come down to who they play and when they do, but rather how they play on the field. What’s your best guess as to how the Texans will fare in 2019? The National Football League has a long regular season of sixteen games, spanning almost four full calendar months.A lot of teams go through certain phases over the duration of a season, as if the season is one elegant novel composed of eventful, but unique chapters. The roller coaster that has been the 2018 Houston Texans’ season is exactly how Mark Twain would have scripted it if he were still alive and assigned to tell the story of a football team. The plot is simple. The overly flawed protagonist falls into a hole, becomes resilient, rides a wave of success and luck before the magic slowly dies out as the goal lies within reach. The road to the NFL Playoffs for these Houston Texans fits that bill like Cinderella and her glass slipper.Looking like he might be just a flash-in-the-pan early in the season, unable to recapture his rookie year magic, September had Deshaun Watson looking like what he was—a young player still recovering from a torn ACL.Watson’s play was sloppy. His legs were not quite working yet. Everything on a football team begins with the quarterback, the most important position in all of sports, and Watson didn’t look like the guy who set the league on fire in 2017.An opening day loss in New England http://www.thetexanslockerroom.com/authentic-deshaun-watson-jersey , followed by two more losses to the Tennessee Titans and the New York Giants, put the Texans at 0-3, leaving them with a 2.8 percent chance of securing postseason berth. Only five of the 153 teams that started the season 0-3 since 1980 have reached the playoffs. The Texans proceeded to rally for a nine-game winning streak to reach the top of the AFC South division, squarely in contention for a first-round bye. The tables turned as Deshaun Watson began looking like the rookie dynamo he was last year and Houston’s defense saw improvement, most notably against the rush. The Texans finished third in the league in rushing yards allowed per game at 82.7, just behind the Bears and Saints. They allowed 3.4 yards per attempt, which ranks them first in the league in that statistical category.Of course, some fortunate late-game miscues by opponents assisted the Texans on some of their nine consecutive wins. Most folks outside of Houston disregarded this team as a true contender due to their excessive lack of style points in their wins.Good thing the NFL is not college football. The finish of the regular season was far from smooth. After losing at home to the Colts via a dominant performance from Andrew Luck, the Texans had their hands full with the New York Jets, squeaking by on a late touchdown.Houston followed that up with a last-second field goal loss to the Eagles in Philadelphia and a ho-hum win at home against the Jaguars, leaving some down on these Texans as the NFL Playoffs loom and Indianapolis Colts loom.JJ Watt will need to spearhead this defense if they have real aspirations in the postseason.Troy Taormina-USA TODAY SportsIn retrospect, 2018 has been a tale of three seasons. They just all happened to occur in the same four month period of 2018.The first season was full of dysfunction came early.Houston fans quickly put their hopes in the Astros repeating their World Series run of 2017 as the Texans appeared headed for a top ten pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. The second season, known as “The Magic Carpet Ride Jay Prosch Jersey White ,” gave the Texans a historic winning streak that lasted two and a half months, propelling them from the graveyard to a potential first-round bye.The third season began once the winning streak ended, and it was time to see how this group would respond in the thick of a playoff race. There is a fourth season that begins this Saturday against the Colts. The postseason. While national attention will be directed towards the Chiefs and Patriots as it pertains to the AFC, the Texans will look to continue their under-the-radar journey and win a home playoff game for just the fourth time in franchise history. As good the novel has been so far, it would only be fitting if it were concluded in nail-biting fashion. That has been the name of the game for these Texans. No win is overly impressive. No loss is overly deflating. Everything seems to come down to a few plays, no matter how well or poor they perform. The Texans can look like the more talented and superior team yet still escape on a missed last-second field goal.Or they can look overmatched for sixty minutes and potentially come within an offsides penalty of having a chance to tie a game.Whichever result comes to pass on Saturday will only further write the novel that details how the season has gone for the Texans:The Little Engine That Couldn’t, But Then Sorta Could: The Story of the 2018 Houston Texans

Packers LB Blake Martinez makes PFF’s All-Pro team for start of 2018 season The Green Bay Packers are a team defined by Aaron Rodgers and their offense Davante Adams Jersey , but it is a defensive player who is earning some individual honors for his excellent start to the 2018 season.Pro Football Focus has compiled “All-Pro” teams for the first four weeks of the season, and linebacker Blake Martinez is the one player they listed on their equivalent of a first-team unit. Last year, Martinez finished in a three-way tie for the NFL’s lead in total tackles, matching Preston Brown of the Bills and Joe Schobert of the Browns with 144. However, Martinez had the most solo tackles of the group with 96, and also the most pass breakups with nine. This season, the former Stanford linebacker sits in a tie for tenth overall in tackles with 34, including one sack. However, he has seemingly taken a big step forward in his coverage abilities, as PFF notes:Joining Martinez on the first team is Seattle’s Bobby Wagner, who has three first-team All-Pro honors from the AP. But Martinez sees his name on this group ahead of Luke Kuechly Corey Linsley Jersey , who earned an honorable mention (PFF’s equivalent of a second-team). The Packers did land three players on the list in that honorable mention section, however. Two names should come as no surprise to Packers fans: left tackle David Bakhtiari, who has been a rock on the blind side, and rookie punter JK Scott, whose hang time and net punting average are among the very best in the NFL.However, the third name might be a bit of a surprise: safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, who comes in as an alternate behind Seattle’s Earl Thomas. Although Clinton-Dix has had a few lapses in coverage and reading routes, he does have an interception in three straight games, and his overall performance against Buffalo was one of his best games since his 2016 Pro Bowl season. The NFL’s trade deadline is nearly here. All trades must be complete by 4:00 PM Eastern time on Tuesday, October 30th, and writers for outlets all over are trying to project some ideas of trades that would make sense around the league.Naturally Nick Perry Jersey , they’re going to get some things wrong, and one of the biggest outlets, ESPN.com, has a major trade idea involving the Green Bay Packers that looks patently absurd for both the Green and Gold as well as their potential trading partner. Here’s the proposed trade: the Packers send safety Josh Jones and a conditional late-round draft pick to the Buffalo Bills for running back LeSean McCoy.From the Bills’ perspective, acquiring a safety makes little to no sense. ESPN’s Mike Sando, who put forth the idea, quotes an anonymous talent evaluator when discussing Jones’ fit in Buffalo: “Jones could be a safety or dime ‘backer and a nice pickup for Buffalo.”However, Matt Warren of SB Nation blog Buffalo Rumblings described his take on the situation to APC:Beyond the lack of sense for the Bills, there’s the question of why the Packers would want to acquire McCoy. Here are the two notable quotes that Sando gathered from anonymous league sources, regarding the Packers’ offense:(Emphasis added by APC.)The problems with these lines of reasoning are legion. First of all, if you hardly even know Aaron Jones Bryan Bulaga Jersey , then you haven’t been paying attention to the Packers’ offense between week three of 2017 and today — it’s as simple as that. Jones is absolutely a dynamic playmaker, as his breakouts against the Cowboys and Saints last season demonstrated. Sure, he does not have a 100-yard day yet this season, but you can thank Mike McCarthy and the coaching staff rather than Jones himself. And although Sando’s article points to the safety on Sunday as an example of the Packers’ poor running game, he and his sources need only look one quarter later at Jones’ 33-yard touchdown to see an example of dynamic running happening in this offense.Using Jones as the featured runner and pairing him with a tough, physical runner like Jamaal Williams — particularly when both players can catch the ball out of the backfield — is a fine recipe for an effective running game with Aaron Rodgers under center. The problem isn’t the personnel, it’s how the coaching staff is using them, an issue that would not be solved by the arrival of a 30-year old back. Besides, the Packers came into week 8 with the fifth-ranked rushing offense by DVOA. Would McCoy improve that number up into the top two or three, and if he did, would it make any significant difference? Then there’s McCoy’s contract. While Jones Mason Crosby Jersey , Williams, and Ty Montgomery are all on their rookie deals — and the first two being in just their second seasons — McCoy comes with a huge price tag. He would be owed about $6.5 million in salary next season, and he’s still due about $3 million over the rest of this year. Can you imagine a team with Russ Ball holding the purse strings being willing to dish out that kind of money for a running back on the wrong side of 30?Adding a further complication to this is the fact that McCoy is currently in the concussion protocol, though he may end up being cleared to play tonight against the New England Patriots.Fundamentally, this trade idea is based on a lack of knowledge about the Packers’ current running backs and how the team does business. The compensation for Buffalo is also a flawed, failing to understand the workings of that team’s defense. It should serve as a reminder that an active trade market in the NFL is still a new concept, and the media has not yet caught up to the dynamics of the market — nor do national writers or their sources really have any feel for how individual teams tend to operate.

ALLEN PARK Womens Devon Kennard Jersey , Mich. (AP) — Matt Patricia wants the Detroit Lions to stay the course. The Lions have lost three games in a row — all by double digits — and are mired in last place. Their most recent defeat was an ugly one. Detroit fell behind 26-0 in the second quarter and eventually lost 34-22 at Chicago on Sunday.Patricia’s first season as coach has been a disappointment so far, and if he has any easy, quick fixes at his disposal, he wasn’t sharing them in his Monday news conference.“No time to feel sorry for ourselves,” Patricia said. “We have to just keep working and getting better.”Offensive lineman Taylor Decker sounded a similar refrain.“You’ve just got to play better,” Decker said. “At the end of the day, you’ve just got to perform better. I know that sounds cliche. It’s a simple answer, but it’s not easy to do.”The Lions (3-6) lost their first two games of the season, then fought back to a 3-3 mark before this current losing skid. They traded receiver Golden Tate before going on the road to face Minnesota and Chicago, and Detroit never led in either of those games. The past two games have been particularly rough from a pass protection standpoint. Detroit allowed 10 sacks against the Vikings and six against the Bears.“Whatever the situation is, whatever the score is, we have to play better as an offensive line. We have to protect the quarterback,” Decker said. “Six sacks isn’t something that’s going to be acceptable Kerryon Johnson Jersey , and we know that.”So now the Lions are back where they were after those first two losses — playing catch-up. Only now, they don’t have a long season still in front of them. Detroit’s next three games are at home, but all are against teams with winning records in Carolina, Chicago and the Los Angeles Rams. The Lions fired special teams coordinator Joe Marciano last week, but Patricia indicated no more staff changes are imminent. He said communication between him and the players is good.“I think we understand (that) we’re working hard to try to get everything the right way. There’s not a big discussion about it, there’s not a big confrontation or anything like that. I don’t know where any of that really comes from outside the building,” Patricia said.“Inside the building, we’re just trying to get better. We really are just working really hard to make sure we’re doing the right things and trying to find different ways, if we have to, to get those things done.”Detroit went 9-7 last season and then fired coach Jim Caldwell, so that makes the decline in 2018 even more alarming. Quarterback Matthew Stafford turned 30 earlier this year, and although the Lions traded Tate — a potential free agent at season’s end — for a draft pick, this franchise doesn’t seem as if it’s in a rebuilding mode. That means the rest of this season is significant. Whether they make the playoffs or not Womens A'Shawn Robinson Jersey , the Lions need to show some progress — some reason for fans to trust that this roster and this coach are better than what the team has shown so far.“I believe in this team and we’re going to work real hard every single day,” Patricia said. “I think the guys in that room, I have a great understanding of what they are and what we’re going to do as a team. We’re not hitting the panic button or anything like that right now. We’re just trying to get better.”NOTES: P Sam Martin didn’t go into much detail about the medical issue that sent him to the hospital, other than to say he’s fine and will play this coming weekend. He said he got blocked during a return Sunday. … The Lions waived CB Lenzy Pipkins. Vikings defensive end Danielle Hunter is earning his contract.Signed to a five-year, $72 million deal in June, Hunter currently leads the NFL, with 11.5 sacks. He has a sack in every game but one, and he added 3.5 on Sunday, in a 24-9 win over the Lions. Hunter also delivered the dagger with a fumble recovery for a touchdown. It came on an impromptu decision by Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford to run an option play, sprinting away from the rush and pitching the ball to running back Kerryon Johnson, who failed to handle it.“It’s all about scoring on defense,” Hunter told PFT by phone after the win, adding that (unlike some coaches) Vikings defensive players are told to not simply fall on the ball http://www.lionslockerroom.com/authentic-anthony-zettel-jersey , even though the effort to scoop and score by guys who don’t normally handle the ball could give the offense a chance to keep possession.“Get the ball and try to score” is the message from coach Mike Zimmer, according to Hunter.Hunter praised the offense for building a lead and the defensive backs for covering receivers long enough for the Vikings as a team to rack up 10 sacks. He also said that the return of defensive end Everson Griffen has provided a “major” boost to the team, given his status as a leader — and as a guy who “gets us going” from a motivational standpoint.Despite the temptation to chase a big win with another chance to pick up a W, Hunter said that the bye comes at a good time for the Vikings, giving them a chance to get guys healthy for the stretch run.And so the Vikings get a week off with a 5-3-1 record, a season after going 13-3. Does Hunter see similarities between last year and this year?“There are a lot of similarities,” Hunter said. “There are lot of players with chips on their shoulders who are trying to prove themselves.”Hunter is proving himself, big time. And even though he’s in the current sack lead, he’s not rooting against his peers.“I know how hard it is to get a sack,” Hunter said. “I want guys to get as many as they can.”Hunter has gotten enough to be only 11 behind the single-season record, with seven games left to catch Michael Strahan’s single-season record from 2001.

CINCINNATI (AP) — The previous time the Bengals tried to stop Baker Mayfield Rodney Anderson Jersey Womens , he set a Browns rookie record with four touchdown passes in little more than half a game. He also gave a cold shoulder to his former head coach while leaving the field. The Bengals are looking for anything positive at the end of another bad season. Containing Mayfield on Sunday would qualify.Cincinnati (6-8) has been eliminated from playoff contention for the third season in a row. It’s the intrastate rival Browns (6-7-1) who are barely still in contention with two games left, emerging from their historically bad run of losses as their rookie quarterback grows up a little more each week — and builds a reputation, too.Asked what Mayfield does best, cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick had an immediate answer.“Talk,” Kirkpatrick said Wednesday.“Naw, he’s cool,” the cornerback added. “I like to see that out of young guys. He definitely gets in guys’ heads. That’s what this game is about.”He sure got into the Bengals’ heads on Nov. 25.Mayfield led the Browns to touchdowns on their first four chances, including a 96-yard drive. He was barely touched while going 17 of 22 for 245 yards in the first half, when the Browns piled up 296 yards.Up 35-7 early in the second half, the Browns essentially ran out the clock. Mayfield threw only four passes in the second half, one of them for a touchdown, as Cleveland finished off a 35-20 win .It was the Bengals’ second game since coach Marvin Lewis fired defensive coordinator Teryl Austin and assumed the role. The defense has been better lately against lesser opponents. The Bengals ended a five-game losing streak Sunday with a 30-16 win over the Raiders , who were missing both starting guards. The defense finally looked more like Lewis had hoped.“It hasn’t been easy,” said rookie defensive end Sam Hubbard Rodney Anderson Cincinnati Bengals Jersey , who had two sacks on Sunday. “We’ve been trying to address a lot of issues in practice.”It’s difficult to quantify how much of an effect Hue Jackson’s had on the defense. The Browns fired him as head coach after Cleveland got only two wins in the first eight games. Lewis quickly hired his close friend as a special assistant on defense, Jackson’s third stint on Lewis’ staff.Jackson helps create the defensive game plan and is on the sideline during games, offering Lewis advice when needed. He also talks to players on the sideline about adjustments that need to be made.Jackson will be a focal point on the sideline Sunday in Cleveland, where he won only three games in two-plus seasons. He’s kept a low profile in Cincinnati not only with the media but also with players, trying to be careful not to infringe upon the other assistant coaches’ areas. He was in the spotlight when the Browns visited last month. Safety Damarious Randall intercepted a pass by the Bengals sideline and handed the ball to Jackson , who patted him on the helmet. After the game, Jackson sought out Mayfield, but the rookie didn’t want to talk.Jackson’s decision to join an AFC North rival and plot to beat the Browns didn’t go over well with some of his former players. His current ones don’t want to get into it.“I don’t care about that,” Kirkpatrick said. “He was their coach. Their might have been something personal. I don’t know. I’m not going to get into it.“You’ll have to ask Hue.”Jackson? He’s not talking.BOYD SIDELINEDReceiver Tyler Boyd topped 1,000 yards in the win over the Raiders, but hurt his right knee late in the first half and didn’t return. He was held out of practice Wednesday, an indication he’s unlikely to play in Cleveland. Linebacker Jordan Evans (ankle) also missed practice.BURFICT RETURNSLinebacker Vontaze Burfict returned to practice on a limited basis after missing the past two games with a concussion. Right tackle Cordy Glenn (back), running back Joe Mixon (wrist) and receiver John Ross (knee) also were limited. Entering the season, no position group for the Bengals was given more attention than the offensive line. The anticipated transition from former offensive line coach Paul Alexander to Frank Pollack along with four new Week 1 starters have yielded a unit that has played fairly well through eight weeks Rodney Anderson Jersey 2019 , which is a lot more than what we can say about last year’s line.On the other side of the ball, the Bengals’ defensive line was touted as the undeniable source of strength on the entire team. And despite the defense ranking in the bottom of the barrel for notable metrics, their studs have produced and their new additions have shown flashes. As a part of our midseason awards series, we’re putting the trench players in the spotlight and recognizing the best lineman through the first half of the Bengals season. The nominees are:Honorable mentions:Clint Boling: After wholesale changes on the offensive line, the Bengals’ best blocker has still been their left guard. Boling has been a staple of consistency amidst the turmoil the offensive line has undergone over the past two years, and that consistency has been just as prevalent this season. In year eight, Boling’s level of play has aged like a fine wine. This season may not be Boling’s best, as he has been beaten in pass protection at a slightly greater rate, but he continues to be the symbol of stability in the group.Trey Hopkins: Compared to last year, this season started much differently for Hopkins. Alex Redmond beat him out at right guard in the preseason, and Hopkins became the primary backup at all three interior positions, effectively knocking T.J. Johnson off the roster during final cuts. That decision has payed off as Hopkins has been filling in for rookie Billy Price for the last six weeks at center, and his work has been admirable. Hopkins had not played at center since he briefly did so when he was in college at Texas, and after showing promising signs in the preseason Rodney Anderson Jersey Mens , Hopkins has been doing things we haven’t seen from a Bengals center in a long time. Unfortunately, all signs point to Hopkins returning to the sidelines when Price returns from his foot injury, but Hopkins deserves credit for coming into his own at a new position.Carl Lawson: One is not the number of sacks Lawson wanted to finish the season with, but it’s his reality as he will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL. Lawson’s sole sack came in a big moment against the Falcons in Week 4, but he could’ve ended up with a few more with his eight quarterback hits. Some will look upon Lawson’s season and label it unsuccessful due to his lack of production, but he was still a consistent force in pressuring the quarterback, and his absence will unfortunately be noticeable on third down.Carlos Dunlap: In the Marvin Lewis era, there may not be a better example of an impact player on the defensive side of the ball than Dunlap, and his game-changing ways have been on display in his ninth year. At the midway point, he’s on pace for 14 sacks, 12 tackles for loss, 26 quarterback hits, 10 passes batted down, and four forced fumbles. On most other teams Youth Rodney Anderson Jersey , Dunlap would be the best defensive lineman on most other teams. But he isn’t in Cincinnati because of... Top LinemanGeno Atkins: Through the first five weeks of the season, there was no interior defensive lineman playing better football than Atkins, not even the king of 3-techniques Aaron Donald. At that point, he was on pace for 19 sacks, 26 tackles for loss, 38 quarterback hits, and an obscene number of pressures. Since then, Donald has retaken his crown, while Atkins has been unusually quiet for his standards.Regardless, Atkins remains the best player on the Bengals, period. There isn’t a week where he doesn’t make a fool of the opposition, and he continues to carry the Bengals pass rush along with Dunlap. Respect your king people.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Deshaun Watson made one big play after another to rally the Houston Texans back from a 13-point deficit to take the lead only to watch the defense let it slip away. The Texans missed an opportunity to clinch the AFC South and lost control of the No. 2 seed when Jake Elliott kicked a 35-yard field goal as time expired to give the Philadelphia Eagles a 32-30 victory on Sunday.Houston would secure the division title with a victory against Jacksonville next week. They need the Patriots to lose or tie to get a first-round bye. But they own at least a wild-card spot because Pittsburgh lost to New Orleans later Sunday.“We just have to go out there and win next week Jordan Akins Jersey White ,” J.J. Watt said after being held to only three tackles and no sacks. “We can’t worry about anything else.”Watson was 29 of 40 for 339 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 49 yards and two scores.Down 29-16 in the fourth quarter, the Texans started their comeback after recovering Josh Adams’ fumble. Watson threw a 14-yard TD to DeAndre Hopkins to cut the deficit to 29-23 with 4:48 left and the Texans got the ball back at their 20 after a three-and-out.Watson made an incredible escape on third-and-11 and threw 22 yards to Jordan Akins for a first down at the Philadelphia 34.On third-and-11, he hit Vyncint Smith deep in the back of the end zone. Smith made an outstanding catch, and dragged his feet to stay inbounds.“He played great the last two drives,” Texans coach Bill O’Brien said. “He’s just got incredible instincts, he sees things well, he hangs in there, he’s tough. The football field for him is heaven on earth. Obviously we have a strong belief in him and what he can do.”The Texans had a tough time moving the ball until the fourth quarter and the absence of Lamar Miller hurt their rushing attack. Alfred Blue and D’Onta Foreman had 13 yards on 11 carries.“I think the ball in (Watson’s) hands is the best thing for our offense and for our football team,” O’Brien said. “But we have to figure out how to run the ball better. I have to figure it out because it hasn’t been good enough.”Watt and the rest of Houston’s defense blamed themselves for the loss after giving up 519 yards and allowing the Eagles to go 4 for 4 on fourth downs.“I’ll put that on my shoulders Braxton Miller Jersey ,” Watt said. “The offense did a great job giving us a chance, and we just didn’t get a stop at the end. I’ll take that as a leader of the defense. We have to get a stop.”“As long as we get in, then it’s a new season,” Watson said before the clinching was official. “My mentality is whoever we have to play, wherever we have to play, we are going to play all four quarters. All that stuff is irrelevant. We have to focus on Jacksonville, get everyone healthy and try to win the next game and see what happens.”The Texans lost wide receiver Demaryius Thomas (right leg) and cornerbacks Kareem Jackson (knee) and Kayvon Webster (thigh) in the game. Thomas was carted off the field in the fourth quarter and his injury appeared most serious. HOUSTON (AP) — The Houston Texans wanted to honor their late owner and founder Robert “Bob” McNair, who died last week at age 81.They knew the perfect way to do that Monday night was to keep their winning streak going.Deshaun Watson threw two touchdown passes and ran for another score as the Texans set a franchise record with their eighth straight victory, 34-17 over the Tennessee Titans.“The one thing Mr. McNair wanted was a winner Whitney Mercilus Jersey ,” J.J. Watt said. “All he wanted was a winner. He wanted to win every week. He wanted a team that could win and bring a championship to this city. So to be able to win eight straight and to be able to win tonight for him was good, and we’re going to try to keep doing that for him.”Demaryius Thomas scored his first two touchdowns with Houston and Lamar Miller ran for 162 yards, including a 97-yard TD.The Texans (8-3) also saluted McNair by wearing decals in the shape of a football with white block letters bearing his initials of “RCM.” With that tribute on the back of their helmets, they became the first team in NFL history to win eight games in a row after starting 0-3. They lead the AFC South by two games over Indianapolis.“We need to try and keep getting better,” coach Bill O’Brien said. “We need to take the mantra that we’re going to improve every day.”The Texans trailed by 10 early before reeling off 27 straight points.Houston receiver DeAndre Hopkins said there was no panic after the team fell behind in the first quarter.“We’ve been down 0-3 as a record, so being down 10-0 on the board is nothing to this team,” he said.Tennessee (5-6) finally scored again on a 48-yard reception by Corey Davis late in the third quarter, but the second TD by Thomas — this one for 10 yards — made it 34-17 with just more than eight minutes left.Marcus Mariota, who missed the second half of last week’s game with a stinger http://www.thetexanslockerroom.com/authentic-martinas-rankin-jersey , was 22 of 23 for 303 yards and two touchdowns. He completed his first 19 passes before an incompletion with just more than a minute remaining.Miller’s 97-yard breakaway in the second quarter made it 21-10. It was the longest run in franchise history and the longest in the NFL since his dash of the same length for a touchdown on Dec. 28, 2014, with the Dolphins. He’s the only player in league history with two career rushing touchdowns of 95 yards or longer. The Titans went ahead 3-0 on their first possession, and Jonnu Smith had a career-long 61-yard catch-and-run touchdown that extended their lead less than halfway through the first quarter.Houston got going after that, cutting the lead to 10-7 when Thomas grabbed his first touchdown since being traded from Denver on Oct. 30, a 12-yard grab with about six minutes left in the quarter.Watson put the Texans on top when he scrambled 15 yards for a score on the first play of the second quarter. The Titans went for it on fourth-and-inches from the 3 later in the second, but tight end Luke Stocker was stopped for no gain.“If you look at their goal-line defense and having a lot of good knowledge of what they do on the goal line, that’s one play that had worked,” Tennessee coach Mike Vrabel said. “It didn’t work tonight and that’s not the reason that we lost. That’s a bad play.”Miller’s long TD  Keke Coutee Jersey , which helped Houston set a franchise record with 281 yards rushing, came on the next play. He took the handoff in the end zone and darted through a crowd of Titans before shedding one tackle and simply outrunning the rest of the defense.“My whole mindset is just, don’t get caught,” Miller said. “Because … when we played the Dolphins, I got caught, so all the guys were giving me a hard time. So that was the only thing on my mind.”The Texans kicked a field goal as time expired in the second quarter to take a 24-10 lead into halftime.MCNAIR REMEMBEREDThe Texans honored McNair in a pregame ceremony, which included a video tribute to him while the Texas A&M Singing Cadets sang “Amazing Grace.” While the video was played, one side of the video board displayed the words: “Faith, Family Kendall Lamm Jersey White , Philanthropy, Football.”Painted on both 25-yard lines was a football with his initials that looked just like the decals on the players’ helmets.Television cameras panned to several fans with signs honoring the late owner. One read: “McNair Never Forgotten.”WATSON’S WORKWatson has thrown 39 touchdown passes in his first 18 career games, which is third in NFL history behind Hall of Famers Kurt Warner (44) and Dan Marino (40). His 70 yards rushing on Monday were a career best and he tied Matt Schaub’s franchise record by throwing a TD pass in his 16th straight game.INJURIESTitans cornerback Malcolm Butler left in the second quarter to be evaluated for a concussion and did not return. … Houston WR Keke Coutee didn’t return after injuring his hamstring in the third quarter.UP NEXTTitans: Host the New York Jets on Sunday.Texans: Host the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.

The Green Bay Packers currently hold a record of 2-1-1 Jimmy Graham Jersey White , sitting in second place in the NFC North and trailing the Chicago Bears by a half-game. That tie could very well come back to be a problem for someone at the end of the season, but for now Green Bay is just hoping to match Chicago in the win column. On deck for the Packers is a divisional game in Detroit, where Matthew Stafford and a talented group of receivers await. Green Bay’s receiving corps is dealing with injuries to every veteran player, however Jamaal Williams Jersey White , so Aaron Rodgers will likely be throwing to the team’s rookie wideouts early and often on Sunday.Still, APC is confident in the Packers’ ability to defeat the 1-3 Lions, and it’s a clean sweep for our contributors in this week’s picks.Week 5 PicksGameTexJasonPeterKrisBobJon MJordanMatubMikePaulShawnWendiZachAPC PickGameTexJasonPeterKrisBobJon MJordanMatubMikePaulShawnWendiZachAPC PickNow to our standings update. Predictably, Green Bay fans think the Packers will win by a bigger margin than Detroit fans, with the difference being about five points when comparing the two. Both look at the Packers as a good bet to beat the point spread, with Lions fans coming in just over the spread on average. With the Green Bay Packers struggling to get anything going on offense Womens Jake Ryan Jersey , the last thing they needed was an injury to an offensive lineman. Right tackle Bryan Bulaga injured his right knee in the second quarter against the New England Patriots and is questionable to return per the Packers. Jason Spriggs is now in at right tackle.Bulaga was receiving treatment on the sideline but ending up limping to the locker room. It is not clear which play Bulaga was injured on.This is clearly bad news for Bulaga who has played through some kind of injury for most of the season and has played well in his comeback from last season’s torn ACL.It’s obviously too early to diagnose this most recent injury to Bulaga but the talent drop off from him to Spriggs is pretty big.Bulaga was having all he could handle against the New England defensive line so Spriggs could definitely be in some trouble. Hopefully the veteran from Iowa will be back on the field sooner than later. UPDATE: Bulaga was downgraded to out for the remainder of the game during the break at halftime.

DETROIT (AP) — The Seattle Seahawks celebrated a touchdown by acting out a baseball game in the end zone. Later Eli Harold Jersey , their punter ran for a first down when he was supposed to take a safety.Fair to say they're playing with confidence again.Russell Wilson finished with a perfect passer rating, throwing three touchdown passes in Seattle's 28-14 victory over the Detroit Lions on Sunday. The Seahawks and Lions came into the game with .500 records, but this matchup didn't seem all that even. Seattle forced three turnovers , and after scoring three TDs in the second quarter, the Seahawks led comfortably the rest of the way. "We're having fun, we're in our groove and it feels good," linebacker K.J. Wright said. "It's a perfect time, coming off the bye week, to just really take off. We have a home game next week and we just have to start stacking these wins on top of each other."After one second-quarter touchdown, the Seahawks (4-3) celebrated in the end zone with a baseball scene. Tyler Lockett was the pitcher and fellow receiver Doug Baldwin was the batter. The "pitch" was Lockett throwing the football toward Baldwin, and when Baldwin was hit by the ball T.J. Jones Jersey White , he ran at Lockett as if charging the mound. Two other receivers were involved: Jaron Brown acted as the catcher, and David Moore served as the umpire."World Series, so we had to try to do something," Moore said. The Lions (3-4) weren't having nearly as much fun. Down 14 late in the fourth quarter, they allowed punter Michael Dickson to run for a first down. Dickson took the snap in his own end zone and was supposed to take a safety, but Detroit reacted so poorly that after drifting across the back of the end zone, Dickson figured he had a chance for a first down and took off running."Obviously, that part of the game we're trying to do anything we can to get the ball and get after it," Lions coach Matt Patricia said. "They were trying to take the safety and play that play there, and we obviously let him out and let him run. He saw the space and he took it."Other items of note from Seattle's victory:GROUNDEDDetroit's rookie running back, Kerryon Johnson Womens Darius Slay Jersey , was held to 22 yards on eight carries after running for a career-high 158 yards in his previous game against Miami.QUITE A LINEWilson was 14 of 17 for 248 yards and three touchdowns, for a perfect passer rating of 158.3."Beautiful game," coach Pete Carroll said. "Not just that, Russell's doing more than just that. We ran the ball for 170-something yards today. He found some opportunities to run it and fix some things for us and took advantage of the game plan. He did a great job."DEBUTDefensive tackle Damon Harrison played his first game for the Lions since being acquired in a trade from the New York Giants. He had seven tackles and a sack, but Detroit was outrushed 176-34.IN THEIR THOUGHTSThe Seahawks dedicated a game ball afterward to owner Paul Allen, who died Oct. 15. This was Seattle's first game since then."He meant so much to us, all of us players," Wilson said. "The culture that he was able to create that will forever live on here for the Seattle Seahawks and the impact that he's made, not just for us as individuals, as a team, but also as a city. There's probably not too many people that have impacted the world more than he has."UP NEXTThe Seahawks host the Los Angeles Chargers next weekend Womens Tavon Wilson Jersey , while Detroit plays at Minnesota. A look at the full seven-round draft order for the 2019 NFL Draft."Late last week, the NFL officially awarded compensatory picks for the 2019 NFL Draft. As expected, the Detroit Lions were not awarded any extra picks for the draft—the third straight year the Lions were shut out of the selection process. Compensatory picks are awarded based on activity in the previous year’s free agency period. In the Lions’ case, who they lost in free agency (Darren Fells, DJ Hayden, Tahir Whitehead among others) was not significant enough to offset the additions they made (Devon Kennard, Christian Jones, Kenny Wiggins, LeGarrette Blount, etc.). Now that the extra picks have been handed out, the complete seven-round draft order has been established for 2019. The Detroit Lions have nine total picks at this point in time. Here’s a look at all nine of them:Round 1 Tavon Wilson Jersey White , Pick 8Round 2, Pick 11 (43 overall)Round 3, Pick 25 (88 overall) — From Eagles (Golden Tate trade)Round 4, Pick 9 (111 overall)Round 5, Pick 8 (146 overall)Round 6, Pick 11 (184 overall)Round 6, Pick 32 (204 overall) — From Patriots (Johnson Bademosi trade)Round 7, Pick 10 (224 overall)Round 7, Pick 15 (229 overall) — From Dolphins (Akeem Spence trade)Nine picks is quite a bit for the Lions, although it’s far from unprecedented for Detroit or even general manager Bob Quinn. In 2017, the Lions selected nine players and in Quinn’s first draft the team actually drafted 10 players in 2016. Of course Kerry Hyder Jersey , there’s no guarantee the Lions will actually use all nine of their current draft picks. Last year, the Lions made two trades on draft weekend that netted them Kerryon Johnson and Da’Shawn Hand for a second and fourth-round pick and a 2019 third-round pick respectively. The year before, Detroit traded down 11 spots, netting Kenny Golladay and Jalen Reeves-Maybin in the process. Perhaps the most intriguing part of Detroit’s nine picks is their first one. Detroit hasn’t selected in the top 10 in five years and they haven’t picked as high as eight since 2013. Recently, that eighth overall pick has been quite valuable to NFL teams. That selection has produced Roquan Smith, Christian McCaffrey, Jack Conklin and Vic Beasley in the past four years alone. For a look at the complete seven-round NFL Draft order for all 32 teams, check it out here.

It is always nice to check in on the AFC North when there is plenty of dirt to be dished on the teams. The Browns had a very damning report come out about the way the team has functioned over the past couple of seasons Malik Jefferson Jersey , and the Steelers had a report come out about Mike Tomlin openly telling players how he dealt with Antonio Brown for the past few seasons. The only team with some positive news is the Ravens, who extended their head coach’s contract. The Ravens give John Harbaugh a four-year extensionThe Ravens finished off their season with the high note of winning the division after starting rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson. The team won six of their final seven games, which was good enough to get the team into the playoffs. This was great news for Harbaugh who has been rumored to be on the hot seat a few times after the team has missed the playoffs. In fact, this was the first time Baltimore got a playoff berth since 2014. Of course, the Ravens were a game away from the playoffs in 2017 before Tyler Boyd ripped their hearts out on a fourth down play.Specific details for the contract haven’t been released, but as with most contracts for head coaches, this really means nothing more than a sign of support. If the Ravens struggle the next couple of seasons it wouldn’t be surprising to see them make a move, as Baltimore hasn’t been the most patient franchise when the team doesn’t remain competitive. Harbaugh’s future is probably tied to Jackson’s career. The Browns were as dysfunctional as you’d expectThis story is honestly hysterical to read as a fan of a team other than the Browns. It feels like reading a satirical ramblings of an old drunk Browns’ fan. Except for the fact they are all stories from people inside the buildings. There is honestly too much to unpack in this form of a post. One of the best things is the account of the Browns’ owner Jimmy Haslam’s running of the team. The combination of paranoia and two-face tendencies really explains most of the Browns early struggles.“You think you’re the one he trusts Mark Walton Jersey ,” a former high-level member of Browns management told Seth Wickersham of ESPN. “By the time you realize that he confides in everyone, it’s too late. You’re gone.”That is exactly what you don’t want to hear about your team's owner. There are also accounts of him making moves because he thought he was purposely advised into bad moves by other members of the NFL. It really doesn’t paint a great picture for the Haslams. Nothing better illustrates that then the owners addressing their staff after the firing of Hue Jackson. The Haslams aren’t the only one who come out of this looking bad, but it is clear that their failure to really understand how to build a proper front office and functional coaching staff can clearly be tied to the Browns struggles over the past six seasons.Mike Tomlin reportedly told players that Antonio Brown would be gone when his production went downThis really isn’t a surprise when you think about just how undisciplined the Steelers have been over Tomlin’s tenure. Brown has gotten away with some pretty wacky stuff like airing a postgame locker room over Facebook Live. This still isn’t what you should be telling players, though. It has been very clear that certain Steelers have been given a much longer leash than others in terms of shenanigans, but for a head coach to tell other players that as soon as one of their best players declines he will be gone shouldn’t inspire confidence among the rest of the team. First of all, it is acknowledging that certain players are getting special treatment. It also displays how the team’s head coach is willing to talk behind a player’s back, and if he is willing to talk about Brown, what is going to stop him from talking about them.Obviously John Ross Jersey , players who are great are going to be held to a different standard in the NFL, but you can’t have a head coach talking about how he is going to get rid of them to other payers. That is just not how you build chemistry. If you ask Bengals’ fans what the teams biggest mistake was the past few years, after not letting Marvin Lewis go sooner, it would be not re-signing Andrew Whitworth following the 2016 season. The Bengals offensive line struggled in 2016, but it was far from Whitworth’s fault. After that season he was set to hit free agency, and with him being 35-years old at the time, Cincinnati opted not to give him a competitive contract with what the market was offering. That led him to join Los Angeles Rams, a team that was undergoing some pretty radical changes. The team had just moved to southern California and hired a young head coach by the name of Sean McVay. Little did the NFL know what was on the horizon as the Rams took the NFL by storm with their high-powered offense — an offense that owes plenty of its success to Whitworth’s play remaining near the top of the NFL. That success has culminated in a Super Bowl berth for the team this season Jordan Willis Jersey , something his former teammates have been happy to see.“They’re happy for me and to have them reach out is awesome,” Whitworth told Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com. “I see a lot of those guys are a part of who I am and what I’ve become to this day.”This is far from surprising given that Whitworth spent 11 seasons with the team, and most of them he spent one of the main leaders in the locker room. His tenure spanned the Carson Palmer and Andy Dalton era, which each saw their fair share of heartbreak in the postseason. In fact, Whitworth had never been apart of a playoff win until the Rams defeated the Cowboys in the Divisional round this season. Of course former teammates weren’t the only ones to share their pleasure with seeing Whitworth get a chance to shine in front of the world. Bengals’ vice presidents Katie and Troy Blackburn and director of player personnel Duke Tobin also reached out to their former star offensive lineman.“Very excited about that. It’s just cool to hear from them and for them to be happy for me,” Whitworth said. “Obviously what they’ve meant to us over the course of my career.”There is no question that the team likely regrets the way it let Whitworth go in favor of anointing Cedric Ogbuehi as the starting left tackle. It is very likely that Ogbuehi won’t be with the team next season after Cincinnati opted to sign Andre Smith off the streets to play rather than risk having to play their former-first round pick.Of course, Ogbuehi isn’t the only Bengals who Whitworth is very familiar with who won’t be with the Bengals next year. The team let Lewis go this offseason, and Whitworth was able to share his thoughts on that move as well.“You see it happen every year. Stuff like that happens. People make decisions Carl Lawson Jersey ,” Whitworth said. “It’s shocking to see him go, but, man, what a great time. What a great job he did there in the community and everything else.”Whitworth was in Cincinnati for most of the highpoints of Lewis’ tenure, and it is a little ironic that he knows the Bengals (likely) new head coach very well as Zac Taylor is currently the quarterbacks coach for the Rams. Once that move becomes official, Whitworth can probably share some thoughts on that as well. It’s great to see a player who was the embodiment of a great teammate and NFL player finally get his chance at a Super Bowl ring. The only way it could’ve been any better was if he was able to have that opportunity with the Bengals.

ST. LOUIS — Reunited and it feels so good. The return of forward Jaden Schwartz from injury Tuesday means the St. Louis Blues put him back on a line with Brayden Schenn and David Perron. The pairing provided immediate dividends in Schwartz’s first game back http://www.officialsenators.com/authentic-adidas-chris-wideman-jersey , a 4-3 victory over the Florida Panthers on Tuesday, with Perron scoring twice, Schwartz assisting both times and Schenn assisting once. While players have been in and out of the lineup, the penalty kill has been consistent. The Blues have killed 18 straight man advantages heading into their home game against the Colorado Avalanche on Friday night, a stretch dating back to Dec. 1.Article continues below ...The Blues’ penalty kill is at 84.8 percent, fourth in the league.“Goaltending’s been great,” Blues center Ryan O’Reilly told NHL.com. “There’s been times with some huge saves, but also our ‘D’ is making massive blocks. I think we’re on the same page. I think the coaching staff’s good. I think they’ve been doing a great job all season of having us prepared and (knowing) what’s going on, but I think one thing that would be nice, is we stay out of the box more.”Because of injuries, the line of Schwartz, Schenn and Perron has only played together three times this season Craig Anderson Jersey , against Calgary in the third game of the season, at Montreal in October and Tuesday.Perron had a hat trick against Calgary, with Schenn assisting on all three goals. Against Montreal, Schenn scored a power play goal with Perron assisting.“You’ve got Schwartz who gets in there skating and forechecking, creates loose pucks,” Blues interim coach Craig Berube told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “Brayden Schenn is a power-type forward too, good forechecker, physical, he’s around the net a lot, and you’ve got a finisher. David Perron is a very highly skilled player, great hands, he can pass or shoot. Kind of a good combination all around.”Schenn likes playing with Perron and Schwartz.“At the start of the year we had chemistry Authentic Erik Karlsson Jersey Kids , then a couple of us got banged up there, and were unable to be put back together,” Schenn told the Post-Dispatch. “There’s a chance now and through one game we felt we had a good game. We have something to build on and we just want keep on getting better.”The Blues beat the Avalanche 3-2 in overtime at Colorado on Nov. 30.Colorado is coming off a 6-4 loss to the Edmonton Oilers at home Tuesday and have lost three of their last four.“We touched on the Edmonton game a little bit, we watched video … We did some good things in that game, obviously the result wasn’t there, but there are definitely some things we can fix up,” Avalanche forward Matt Calvert told NHL.com.“We’ve got a big stretch coming up before we get four days off for Christmas and quite a bit of those are at home. We’ve got to come out with a better effort in front of our home crowd, get them involved earlier and have some fun with this before we get the break.” GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Brandon Pirri has had a late December to remember for the Vegas Golden Knights. The journeyman forward had a goal and assist in the Golden Knights’ 5-1 win over the Arizona Coyotes on Sunday night, and has five goals as part of his seven points in the six games he’s played for Vegas this season.Pirri failed to register a point in only one of those games. He’s been a regular since Dec. 20.“It’s a lot of fun playing here because everyone’s contributing,” Pirri said. “Things are going good. I’ve always believed in myself and I’m getting the opportunity. When you get the opportunity you have to reward the people that put you in this spot and at the same time I have to reward myself. I put in a lot of work.”Paul Stastny also had a goal and an assist and Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 29 shots for Vegas. Reilly Smith, Cody Eakin and Ryan Carpenter also scored to help Vegas win its third straight and extend its points streak to six games. The Golden Knights have won five of six games against Arizona since Vegas entered the NHL last season.“We played hard Jean-Gabriel Pageau Jersey , we played quick. We were good with the forecheck, we were good with the puck and we didn’t make a lot of mistakes,” forward Jonathan Marchessault said.A large following of Golden Knights fans made plenty of noise for the visiting team in the most recent installment of the fledgling rivalry, and saw their team take control with three goals in the third period. The third was a short-handed goal from Carpenter, his second goal of the season.Just when the Golden Knights’ first power play ended, Pirri got a rebound behind the net and backhanded the puck back toward the crease, where Stastny was waiting to stuff it in at 3:35 of the first.Arizona’s Nick Schmaltz appeared to tie at 1 with 8:54 left in the second period, but the goal was reviewed on a coaches’ challenge and overturned for offside.Vegas made it 2-0 with 3:57 to play in the second. Brad Hunt tipped a loose puck in front, and Smith got to it first for a shot that zipped past Darcy Kuemper.Kuemper finished with 33 saves. The Coyotes took advantage of a 5-on-3 power play with two Golden Knights in the penalty box to get their lone goal at the 2:58 mark of the second. Alex Galchenyuk scored, with Oliver Ekman-Larsson getting the assist.Ekman-Larsson reached 312 career points, passing Keith Yandle for the most points in franchise history for a defenseman.Galchenyuk ran his points streak to five games, in which he has totaled seven points.Eakin edged the puck over the goal line at 4:21 of the third for his 12th goal of the season Mark Stone Jersey , and Pirri scored on a breakaway less than three minutes later.“I liked the way we played all night, not just the third period,” Vegas coach Gerard Gallant said.Arizona started the third period on a power play — one of six on the night — but couldn’t produce and fell further behind.A frustrated Coyotes coach Rick Tocchet called his team’s effort an implosion less than 24 hours after Arizona got an overtime win at Anaheim.“Just very casual from a lot of key guys,” Tocchet said. “I just saw a team go totally south on us. You want to be a good NHL hockey team or a player, you’ve got to be consistent. … So maybe we have some players here that just can’t do it regularly and we’re going to have to find some players that will.”NOTES: Coyotes F Brad Richardson missed his third straight game with an illness. … D Kevin Connauton was shaken up in the first period and left the ice, but returned for a shift in the final seconds of the period and stayed in the game. … Vegas F Valentin Zykov, just claimed off waivers on Saturday, was scratched. So was F Tomas Nosek, who missed his first game since Dec. 20. … F Alex Tuch was given a penalty for a check to the head when he drove a shoulder into Arizona’s Nick Cousins, which led to the Coyotes’ power-play goal in the second.UP NEXTVegas: Hosts Los Angeles on Tuesday night.Arizona: Hosts Edmonton on Wednesday night.

Nashville Predators defenseman P.K. Subban has found a way to go beyond his more than 1.1 million followers on Twitter and 844 Roman Josi Jersey ,000 more on Instagram. He’s hitting national television. The 2013 Norris Trophy winner will host “P.K. Subban’s All-Star Special” Friday night on NBC Sports Network airing immediately after the NHL All-Star Skills competition, and Subban is ready to have some fun.“It allows me to have a platform to be able to talk about things that I care about,” Subban told The Associated Press on Thursday. “It’s not all about me with the guests that we have coming on and I guess some of the promo that we give certain players and athletes and people that I’m involved with. I think it’s a benefit not only for me but for everybody involved.”The hour-long special is part-talk show taped at the San Jose Improv with fans as the audience in San Jose, California.Subban’ guests will include Jay Leno, comedian and TV host W. Kamau Bell, country singer Lee Brice, IndyCar driver James Hinchcliffe, Columbus defenseman Seth Jones and 13-year-old hockey player Ty Cornett. The show also includes live comedy sketches by Subban along with segments featuring Subban at a jam session with Brice and a recent visit with his family in Toronto. Subban gave no hint of the topics that will be covered, saying only to tune in and watch.“There’s definitely some things that I’m going to talk about in my monologue that I’m sure that people will get a good kick out of, and that’s the whole point of watching it,” Subban said. “Hopefully enough people think enough about the show to tune in and see the interviews with the guests, the skits that we’ve done and the work that’s been put into the script.”Television is nothing new for Subban. NBC Sport producer Sam Flood said they learned what a great communicator the defenseman is when Subban worked the final game of the 2018 Stanley Cup Final.“He worked well with Mike Tirico http://www.officialpredators.com/authentic-adidas-ryan-hartman-jersey , was involved in an interview with the commissioner, and it was fun to see,” Flood said. That led to further talks between NBC Sports Group about how to showcase Subban without interfering with his top priority, the Nashville Predators. They announced the All-Star special and “The P.K. Project” digital series earlier this month. The first episode of “The P.K. Project” just debuted giving viewers a look into his personal life.“P.K. is doing a wonderful job working with our team to get some unique content and content that only could happen with his relationships and his personality,” Flood said. The All-Star special and “The P.K. Project” work around Subban’s schedule. Subban said players are at the rink for about three hours a day, leaving them with plenty of free time. Away from hockey, Subban said he has plenty of other interests keeping him busy including food, fashion and television.“Just because the person next to me doesn’t think that they can host their own show doesn’t mean that I can’t,” Subban said.To the 29-year-old defenseman who made his NHL debut in February 2010 with Montreal, what matters is finding what works for himself. Subban knows some people might criticize him spending time on something other than his Predators’ job, which pays him $9 million a year through the 2021-22 season.“But some people do other things because it makes them better at their job,” Subban said.Starting his own production company — PeeK Productions — is something Subban has wanted to do for a long time.“Now to be able to own the content that I’m doing and develop it and have a team and put out meaningful content that you can see and own it was a priority for me and my team Ryan Johansen Jersey ,” Subban said. “I’m very excited about today and moving forward.” ST. LOUIS — The St. Louis Blues are coming off arguably their most impressive win of the season Friday night. The big question is can they build on it when they host the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday afternoon.Goalie Jake Allen starred in the 1-0 win at Winnipeg on Friday, stopping all 26 shots in career shutout No. 17, which moved him past Glenn Hall for third-most shutouts in franchise history.Article continues below ...“It’s pretty cool,” Allen told NHL.com last season after tying Hall with 16 shutouts. “I think it was a lot harder for Glenn to get shutouts back in the day than it is for us now. But I’ll take it. It’s pretty cool to have that under my belt and hopefully I’ll get a lot more over the years.”It was Allen’s first shutout since Dec. 7, 2017, a 3-0 win over Dallas.Defenseman Colton Parayko scored the lone goal in a game that played out much differently than the last time the Blues faced the Jets. The game resulted in an 8-4 Jets victory at Enterprise Center in which Patrik Laine scored five goals.“It’s something we definitely want to take pride in is being a good defensive group, and we weren’t happy with what happened at home last game, obviously,” Blues defenseman Robert Bortuzzo told NHL.com. “Guys stepped up and made hard plays in hard areas and tried to take a lot of their shooting areas away.”While blanking the Jets on the road is impressive, the Blues have been down this road before this season but have failed each time to back up an impressive result with another. The last time the Blues won consecutive games was Nov. 6 against Carolina and Nov. 9 against San Jose. The Blues have yet to win three straight this season. After their last three wins, they lost by scores of 6-1, 8-4 and 4-0.“You don’t just talk about a win Viktor Arvidsson Jersey ,” Blues interim coach Craig Berube told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “It’s a process. We’ve got to come out and have the same mindset. You’ve got to come out and play hard and compete hard and do things right.”This is the first meeting between the Blues and Canucks this season. St. Louis has won the last five games against Vancouver dating to Oct. 18, 2016.But Vancouver is coming off of a 5-3 win over Nashville on Thursday, snapping a four-game skid.“I think we played good some games that we lost,” Canucks center Elias Pettersson told NHL.com. “It’s good to finally be rewarded, get some bounces with us. We played really good today. This is what it’s going to take from us to be successful. Hopefully, we can build on this.”Pettersson scored on a penalty shot and right winger Jake Virtanen and center Bo Horvat each had a goal and an assist in the Canucks’ win.“It was a highly skilled move by a highly skilled player,” Horvat told NHL.com of Pettersson’s penalty shot. “It was a huge goal for us at the time, especially towards the end of the period. You expect him to do those kind of things and it’s nice to see that go in for him.”

NEWARK Youth Jake McCabe Jersey , N.J. (AP) — The Western Conference-leading Calgary Flames are rolling after finishing off the Eastern portion of their NHL schedule.Johnny Gaudreau set up two second-period goals and the Flames extended their season-high winning streak to seven games with a 2-1 victory over the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday night.“I think we’ve come a long way in that sense and play well defensively,” Flames captain Mark Giordano said of winning on a night when the team struggled playing the second of a back-to-back. “We have the goaltending, we have the depth if we can get our minds in the right place. I think we’re a really good hockey team and we can do some damage.”Elias Lindholm also scored for the Flames, who have points in eight straight games. David Rittich made 19 saves in improving to 22-5-5.Kevin Rooney scored a short-handed goal for the Devils. Mackenzie Blackwood, who spent the last three weeks in the minor leagues, was outstanding in making 33 saves in his return to the NHL.The game was delayed about 10 minutes early in the third period after Devils defenseman Mirco Mueller crashed into the end boards on a rush and had to be taken on the ice on a stretcher. He moved his legs and gave a thumbs-up to fans.“He’s got full range of motion and he’s conscious and he’s just at the hospital now getting evaluated now Jason Pominville Jersey Kids , but thank God he’s OK,” Devils coach John Hynes said. “He’s fully conscious and all of his extremities are moving fine. … Mentally, he was fine and he sat up before he left the arena for the hospital, and (had) full awareness of what was going on.”After outshooting the Devils 15-5 in a scoreless first period, Calgary took the lead at 1:07 of the second period on Lindholm’s 26th goal of the season. His intended pass from the left circle with the Devils playing two men down hit off the skate of defenseman Sami Vatanen and caromed past Blackwood.“A lucky one,” Lindholm said. “I was trying to go backdoor and hit the defensemen’s skate and it went in. It wasn’t pretty Womens Johan Larsson Jersey , but it went in and that’s all that matters.”The goal came a second after the first penalty expired and ended the power play.Gaudreau and Giordano combined on a great goal at 13:52. Gaudreau carried the puck into the Devils’ zone on a counterattack and made a nifty cross ice pass to the 35-year-old defenseman. He lifted his skate as if he was going to snap a shot. That froze Blackwood and he continued toward the net and slid a backhander into an open net for his 14th goal.Giordano laughed when asked if he was making a Mark Messier-type fake.“Honestly, I was thinking shot the whole way and he took everything away, so desperation at the end, you go by instincts and took it to my backhand and it worked out for sure,” he said. The point was Giordano’s 60th of the season, making the Flames captain the fourth defenseman in NHL history 35 or older to score 60 points in a season. Nicklas Lidstrom Authentic Justin Bailey Jersey , Al MacInnis and Sergei Zubov are the others.Rooney got the Devils back in the game with 3:13 left in the second period. He stole the puck from Gaudreau in the Calgary end and circle before releasing a shot from the left circle that beat Rittich.“I saw him coming around the net there and wanted to get up ice and didn’t want to give him time and space with the puck,” Rooney said. “Just had a good angle on him and was lucky enough to strip him and put it in.”Rittich protected the lead in the third, stopping Travis Zajac in close and Will Butcher from the point on power play.“We didn’t give up huge shots, but they had a couple of good looks, a couple of two on ones,” Rittich said. “We did a great job in our zone. That’s important if you want to make the playoffs.”NOTES: Flames and Devils will play in Calgary on March 12. … After missing 14 games Kyle Okposo Jersey , the Devils activated Vatanen (concussion) from injured reserve. … The Flames have killed off 13 straight power plays over the last five games. … Devils leading goal scorer Kyle Palmieri (26 goals) was out with a lower-body injury. LOS ANGELES (AP) Los Angeles Kings center Jeff Carter had plenty of time to work on his shooting and stick handling as he recovered from surgery to repair a cut tendon in his ankle that sidelined him for 55 games.Carter is making up for lost time with his scoring prowess since returning for the stretch run Calvin De Haan Jersey Womens , leading the Kings in a contested playoff chase.Carter completed a hat trick by scoring with 4:25 left and the Kings beat the Arizona Coyotes 4-2 on Thursday night.”Carter had a hell of a game,” Coyotes coach Rick Tocchet said. ”He’s a world-class player.”Carter scored for the third consecutive game, helping the Kings open a two-point lead over the Anaheim Ducks for third place in the Pacific Division before the Freeway Faceoff rivals meet Friday night in Anaheim.Carter capped his sixth career hat trick on a wrist shot from the left dot to give the Kings the lead at 15:35 of the third period. It was Carter’s 13th goal in 17 games since returning from injury, and his 59th multi-goal game in his 900th career appearance.”It’s just his presence in a lot of areas checks a lot of boxes, but he’s a production guy,” Kings coach John Stevens said. ”He ends up in the scoring areas, he goes to the tough areas. Carter Hutton made 20 saves.Blake Coleman scored for New Jersey, and Keith Kinkaid made 28 saves. LAS VEGAS (AP) — In four games back after missing 30 with an injury, Paul Stastny has made his presence known for the Vegas Golden Knights.William Karlsson and Stastny scored 1:03 apart in the third period, and Marc-Andre Fleury got his 424th career win as Vegas rallied for a 4-2 win over the New York Islanders on Thursday night. It marked the Golden Knights’ sixth straight win at home.Just over a minute after Karlsson skated down the left wing and fired one over Thomas Greiss‘ shoulder for his team-leading 14th goal at 6:22 to tie the score at 2-all, Reilly Smith — moved down from the top line to the second midway through the second period — fed Stastny, who put it in the open net with his second goal of the season to put Vegas ahead 3-2.“He’s easy to play with, he holds on to the puck, buys you that extra second to get open Phil Kessel Jersey ,” said Stastny, who has two goals and an assist in the last three games. “When you play with good players it doesn’t matter. I think a good coach will do a good job of switching two guys that will give a spark to two lines.”Defenseman Nate Schmidt had an empty-net goal and two assists and Brandon Pirri, also on the second line, scored as Vegas came back from two goals down near the midpoint of the second period. Fleury, who made 19 saves, picked up his league-leading 20th win of the season. He also broke a tie with Tony Esposito to take sole possession of ninth place on the career list, moving 13 victories behind Jacques Plante (437).“The second period we knew they were going to have a push,” Islanders coach Barry Trotz said. “I would say we weren’t as committed as we were in the first, and their commitment level got raised and they got a lot of momentum.”Mathew Barzal and Brock Nelson each scored for New York, while Greiss stopped 43 shots.Smith, who leads the team with 18 assists, said he was fine with coach Gerard Gallant’s line move, especially since he’s played with Pirri since their childhood days in Toronto, and skated with Stastny during training camp.“Two easy guys to play with,” Smith said. “Stas is a smart player and he’ll find openings and make a lot of nifty plays out there. I’ve been playing with Pirri since I was 8 years old, so there’s a lot of chemistry between us two. It’s nice, if you’re shuffling lines Sidney Crosby Jersey , to be able to play with somebody you’re so familiar with. I think we played with a lot of energy and created a lot of offense.”The Golden Knights, who completed a season series sweep of the Islanders after losing both matchups last year, are 6-3-1 in December and hold the top wild card spot in the Western Conference with 42 points.“I liked our game; we kind of fell asleep for a minute and a half late in the first period and it cost us two goals, and we were disappointed with that,” Gallant said. “But I thought overall we played a real good solid game and lots of scoring opportunities. The second period was real good for us.”Trailing 2-0 after one period, the Golden Knights cut the deficit in half near the midpoint of the second. Pirri, who was called up from Chicago of the AHL on Wednesday, cleaned up a rebound in the crease with backhand over Greiss’ pads at 8:48. In three career games with the Golden Knights, Pirri has four goals.“I got to witness some playoff games last year and this building is pretty electric,” Pirri said. “So when you get this opportunity you want to make the most of it. After I scored it was pretty loud, so it was pretty fun.”Schmidt’s empty-net goal with 15 seconds left provided the final margin. The Golden Knights had a goal negated when Trotz challenged that Alex Tuch skated offsides prior to New York’s Ryan Pulock sliding into Greiss and the net while bringing the puck with him.Barzal gave the Islanders a 1-0 lead with 1:30 left in the first period, and Nelson doubled it just 1:08 later.NOTES: Vegas D Colin Miller (undisclosed injury) was out for the first time since the Golden Knights joined the league last season. Doug Wilson didn’t go looking for Joe Thornton insurance last summer. The general manager of the San Jose Sharks already had it.The Sharks didn’t panic when they found out their longtime star had another setback with a series of nagging right knee injuries. They knew what they could count on from captain Joe Pavelski and the rest of the supporting cast.“We’re very fortunate we have a lot of players that can go up and down in the lineup http://www.officialredwings.com/authentic-adidas-mike-green-jersey ,” Wilson said. “Our players just look at it as they just move up a role or slip into a different position, and it’s not really that much of an adjustment for them because they’ve done it before.”All over the NHL, teams are adjusting on the fly to a surprising number of significant injuries early in the season, including a handful of starting goaltenders. The Kings are calling Jonathan Quick week-to-week with a lower-body injury. The Panthers will be without Roberto Luongo for two to four weeks because of a sprained ligament in his right knee, and the Penguins don’t know when Matt Murray will be back after being diagnosed with yet another concussion. The Flyers have ruled out high-priced forward James van Riemsdyk for the next five to six weeks, and the Blue Jackets are without top defenseman Seth Jones and center Brandon Dubinsky .The Sharks in particular seem best prepared to withstand the loss of Thornton because of organizational depth in the form of summer addition Antti Suomela and ready-made NHL forwards like Rourke Chartier, Marcus Sorensen and Dylan Gambrell. They showed that already by drubbing the Flyers 8-2 on Monday night. The organization hopes doctors caught the infection in Thornton’s knee early enough that he won’t be out too long. Still, Wilson expected to use 28 or 29 players this season and credits the versatility of players on the roster and coaching of Peter DeBoer for having San Jose ready for this scenario.“When you lose a difference-maker, no team can just plug and play to replace a difference-maker. But then you become the sum of all your parts,” Wilson said. “A lot of our guys are not kids. … When people say they’re new or younger, they’re actually mature players. And most importantly our coaches and our players trust them, and that’s half the battle.”No GM can go into an offseason making moves on the uncertain scenario that a star will go down. But previous experiences paved the way for Los Angeles, Columbus and Florida to have a plan in place.Quick missed four months two seasons ago, and Luongo sat out two months with a groin injury last year. Florida has backup James Reimer signed long term as an option already, and Los Angeles traded for former top prospect Jack Campbell and brought back veteran Peter Budaj as depth.“We’ve experienced it here two years in a row,” Kings GM Rob Blake said. “We lost Quickie for four or five months and Jeff Carter the same last year. (Coach John Stevens‘) message is the same: the next guy up Nick Jensen Jersey , someone’s going to come in and fill that spot. Will he be at the level of Jonathan Quick? Will he be at the level of Jeff Carter or (Anze) Kopitar? Probably not. But they are adequate players, and the rest around have to be better, too.”The Penguins for now are counting on young goalies Casey DeSmith and Tristan Jarry to shoulder the load without Murray. Knowing them from his time in Pittsburgh, Vegas netminder Marc-Andre Fleury said: “They’re both very talented goalies. … I’m sure they’ll be fine.”Often, it’s not about one player filling a void. Columbus GM Jarmo Kekalainen doesn’t expect one defenseman to replace Jones or one center to step right into Dubinsky’s role.“If somebody comes from being the seventh, eighth defenseman to thinking he’s going to play 27 minutes to replace Seth Jones with all his strengths, probably either he shouldn’t be the seventh defenseman or he’s got unrealistic expectations,” Kekalainen said. “Everybody who’s coming into the lineup from outside of the lineup should have their eyes wide open with the opportunity in front of them, but also realizing what their own strengths are and what their role on the team is and how they can be successful.”That’s the case in Philadelphia, where Jordan Weal gets the first crack at filling in for van Riemsdyk after being a healthy scratch the first two games of the season. Like the Sharks, the Flyers believe they have flexibility among their forwards.“We have a lot of players that are versatile in terms of being able to play the middle or play the wing,” coach Dave Hakstol said. “In the short term, that’ll challenge us and challenge our depth and challenge somebody else to step in and do a good job.”VEGAS ADVERSITYAfter losing just two of their first 10 games last season as an expansion team, the Golden Knights have already lost twice in their first three games. For a Vegas team that didn’t face much adversity in a charmed inaugural season that included a trip to the Stanley Cup Final, it’s a chance for coach Gerard Gallant to emphasize some fundamentals with a tough road schedule early.“I thought we played loose and were not concentrating enough and were making mental mistakes,” Gallant said. “So Thomas Vanek Jersey , it’s just about getting focused and getting ready to play every game.”GAME OF THE WEEKThe defending Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals host a 2019 favorite in the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night.LEADERS (THROUGH MONDAY)Goals: Auston Matthews (Toronto), 7; Assists: Morgan Rielly (Toronto), 8; Points: Matthews and Rielly (10); Ice time: Drew Doughty (Los Angeles), 28:15; Wins: John Gibson (Anaheim), 3; Goals-against average: Andrei Vaslievskiy (Tampa Bay), 0.92; Save percentage: Vasilevskiy, .977. Two teams looking for a major spark will get together Tuesday night when the Anaheim Ducks host the Philadelphia Flyers at Honda Center. The Ducks have lost five in a row, their longest losing streak in three years, while the Flyers have dropped their past three games by a combined score of 13-2.The game in Anaheim will be the start of a four-game West Coast trip for the Flyers (4-7-0) , their only visit to California and Arizona this season. Team captain Claude Giroux told the Philadelphia Inquirer that the road trip should provide an opportunity for the team to bond away from the ice.Article continues below ...“That’s what we need right now,” Giroux said. “We need to get closer as a team, we need to go out there and play for each other, and this road trip is going to be very important for the season.”The Ducks (5-5-2) opened a four-game homestand Sunday night against the San Jose Sharks and played better than in the previous four games, rallying from a 3-1 deficit in the second period with two goals from recent waiver acquisition Pontus Aberg, but they eventually lost 4-3 in overtime.Anaheim coach Randy Carlyle stressed the importance of staying positive during this rut.“There is our fair share of work that needs to be done, but for us it’s about taking the next step Womens Adam Larsson Jersey ,” he said. “Right now, we’re a hockey club that has to try to create an identity, and we did that in the last 30 minutes of (the San Jose) game.”Anaheim has been trying to play with a faster pace, but the process seems to be creating more scoring chances for the opposition than the Ducks. The Sharks outshot Anaheim 19-8 in the first period and 34-17 through two before finishing with a 45-27 edge. The Ducks are allowing a league-high 39.1 shots per game while taking a league-low 24.5.“We have to get to the bottom of that,” Ducks defenseman Josh Manson said. The Ducks have been repeatedly bailed out by goaltenders John Gibson and Ryan Miller. Gibson is sixth in the NHL with a .938 save percentage, and Miller also has a .938 save percentage in three appearances, including two starts. Despite the heavy volume of shots against, they’ve helped limit the team’s goals-against average to 2.75, which is 12th-best in the NHL.The Flyers haven’t received nearly as quality of goaltending, a major reason why they’re allowing a league-high 4.18 goals per game. The Flyers have also struggled on the penalty kill, allowing a league-high 13 power-play goals for a league-worst kill rate of 67.5 percent. They’ve allowed six power-play goals in the past four games.“We can’t give up,” Philadelphia center Scott Laughton told the Inquirer. “On the bench, you’ve got to stay positive, keep encouraging guys, and it’s only these guys in here that’s going to get us out of it. No one’s going to feel sorry for us that we’re under .500.”

NASHVILLE Alex Galchenyuk Jersey Womens , Tenn. (AP) — Goalie Jimmy Howard feels really, really comfortable playing at Bridgestone Arena.Howard made 32 saves with a handful early and a flurry late to help the struggling Detroit Red Wings beat the Nashville Predators 3-2 Tuesday night to snap a three-game skid.“I’ve played in this building a lot,” Howard said. “In the first period, they are going to come out hard, a lot of pucks are going to go to the net and the crowd is going to be into it. You’ve got to find a way to take them out of it, and we did that by getting one in the first.”Andreas Athanasiou scored the game-winner at 4:08 of the third period.Luke Glendening had a goal and an assist, Nick Jensen had two assists and Dylan Larkin also had a goal for Detroit.“Jimmy was excellent when he needed to be Carter Rowney Jersey Womens ,” Detroit coach Jeff Blashill said. “We competed hard for sure.”Viktor Arvidsson and P.K. Subban scored for Nashville, which now has lost three straight for its longest skid since losing four straight Dec. 17-22. Ryan Johansen and Filip Forsberg had two assists apiece.Nashville finished the game with a man advantage after Danny DeKeyser went to the box with 55.9 seconds left, took a timeout and couldn’t beat Howard to force overtime.“I think we had a lot of chances, especially in the first,” Nashville captain Roman Josi said. “Just didn’t score on them. The second was kind of back and forth and 2-2 going into the third, we’ve got to find a way to win the game and we didn’t.The Red Wings came in ahead of only Ottawa in the NHL. But Detroit has not lost in Nashville since Dec. 30, 2013 Luke Schenn Jersey Womens , a span of five games, and the Red Wings have taken nine of the last 10 in this series between the former Central Division rivals.Nashville, which lost back-to-back games to St. Louis over the weekend, opened the game outshooting the Red Wings 6-1. Only Howard making some great saves, including on Yannick Weber early, kept it scoreless. Glendening redirected the puck shot from the point by Nick Jensen, and the puck went off Pekka Rinne’s right shoulder into the net for a 1-0 lead at 15:05 of the first.Larkin made it 2-0 for Detroit with a wrister on the power play at 7:13 of the second. Arvidsson Womens Niklas Hjalmarsson Jersey , who came in leading the NHL with 16 goals since Dec. 31, got Nashville on the board with a slap shot off the post just 36 seconds later with his 25th of the season. The Predators have struggled mightily with the man advantage this season, and they had converted only 2 of 46 over the past 14 games when Subban added another at 17:32 of the second. He scored his fifth of the season off a slap shot tying it up at 2.Nashville has won only once when tied after two periods this season, and not even starting the third on a power play helped. Detroit took a 3-2 lead at 4:08 when Athanasiou threw a backhander at the net from the right, and the puck went off Rinne’s arm just above his glove.“I saw the rebound just kind of kick out and it was on my backhand, so I just tried to get it on net,” said Athanasiou Zach Bogosian Jersey Womens , who ended an 11-game goal drought. “It ended up being a backhand clapper. I don’t do it too often, but I’m happy it worked out.”NOTES: Detroit forward Justin Abdelkader passed Bruce MacGregor for 20th in franchise history with 675 games. … Nashville dropped to 1-5-1 when tied after the second period. .. ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Jakob Silfverberg didn’t want to test free agency, even as the Anaheim Ducks struggle through one of their worst seasons. The 28-year old signed a $26.5 million, five-year extension with the Ducks, forgoing the chance to become an unrestricted free agent after this season.“I like it here a lot and wanted to stay Scott Wedgewood Jersey Womens ,” Silfverberg said after practice Saturday. “I feel like I am a hard-working guy and to get rewarded with a five-year deal means a lot. I had a feeling once talks started going that it was going to be pretty fast.”Silfverberg leads the Ducks with 16 goals and has 24 points in 56 games. The Swedish forward has 99 goals and 115 assists over six seasons with Anaheim. The Ducks are in danger of missing the playoffs for the first time since 2012. Anaheim is next-to-last in the Western Conference with 57 points and has lost four straight going into Sunday’s game against Colorado.Silfverberg said he weighed the Ducks’ rebuilding process before making a final decision.“Over the next five years I think it is going to be a contending team again. They know what it takes,” he said.General manager and interim coach Bob Murray made a lot of moves near the trade deadline to get younger, but he also said it is important to have a veteran like Silfverberg as a building block.“You can’t just go with a bunch of 21- and 22-year-olds,” Murray said. “It’s just like building your minor league team. You can have a bunch of kids, but you need quality veterans. It’s not any different here. He can play the game, but he’s also a role model. He does all the right things.”

Miller also scored for the NHL-leading Lightning (28-7-2), who are 11-0-1 in their last 12 games.“I think we played great,” defenseman Victor Hedman said. “Overall, it was a great performance by the guys and you can tell we really wanted to win this game and go into the break on a high note, and we’re feeling good about ourselves.”Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Alex Chiasson and Leon Draisaitl scored for the Oilers (18-15-3), who have dropped three straight. Connor McDavid had three assists.“Rather than relying on the same people every night to do everything, I’m trying to get people connected,” Edmonton coach Ken Hitchcock said. “We’re going to have to figure out who’s helping and who’s hurting, for us to get to another level.“We can’t keep doing it the same way over and over. It’s not going to work.”Edmonton goalie Mikko Koskinen lost for the first time on home ice this season Custom Los Angeles Kings Jerseys , falling to 7-1-0.The Oilers got on the board first midway through the opening period on a give-and-go play from McDavid to Nugent-Hopkins, who sent his 12th goal past Tampa Bay goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy.McDavid picked up his 200th career assist on the play, becoming the sixth player in NHL history to reach the milestone before his 22nd birthday — joining a club that includes Wayne Gretzky, Sidney Crosby, Mario Lemieux, Dale Hawerchuk and Ron Francis.Tampa Bay tied it on a power play with three minutes left in the first when Stamkos fired a one-timer past Koskinen for his 19th of the season.Koskinen made a huge save on Kucherov’s breakaway early in the second. The Oilers pulled back in front on the power play three minutes into the middle period when Chiasson tipped a point shot by Darnell Nurse.Kucherov got another clear breakaway with seven minutes left in the second and this time made no mistake in scoring his 16th goal. The Lightning went up 3-2 a minute and a half later as Miller redirected a shot from in front of the net.Tampa Bay added to its lead four minutes into the second when Johnson pounced on a big rebound for his 15th.Edmonton got that one back quickly on a power play as McDavid fed the puck to Draisaitl for his 17th of the season, but the Lightning put it away on Stamkos’ second of the game with five minutes left and an empty-netter from Johnson.“We’re going to need a little better out of everyone,” Chiasson said.UP NEXTLightning: Return home to face the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday after the Christmas break.Oilers: Host the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday.

Two teams coming off disappointing losses meet Wednesday Youth Dion Phaneuf Jersey , and both are trying to figure things out on special teams. The Montreal Canadiens can’t seem to score on the power play and suddenly the Colorado Avalanche are struggling to consistently kill penalties. Something has to give when the teams play at Pepsi Center in Denver on Wednesday night.Montreal (17-12-5) lost to Boston 4-0 on Monday night in a game right winger Brendan Gallagher called “one of the worst of my career” afterward. The Canadiens had won six of their previous eight games, they were rested but were outshot 35-22 by a Bruins team playing the second of back-to-back games.Article continues below ...Every team has off nights but Montreal has had a season-long struggle of scoring with the man advantage. The Canadiens haven’t had a power-play goal in their last 25 chances and have only scored 14 all season.“It’s just the little things,” Gallagher told Sportsnet after Monday’s loss. “We have to win puck battles. It’s not a strategic problem. It’s just work ethic, compete. We have to find a way to get the puck. We didn’t have enough control of the puck in the zone to put into practice anything that we’ve worked on or talked about. It’s as simple as that. It’s not strategic.”Colorado’s issues might be more strategic than anything. The Avalanche were one of the top penalty-killing teams in the first two months but have struggled lately. They have allowed at least one power-play goal in six of the last seven games, including two to the New York Islanders on Monday.Colorado (18-10-6) has gone 1-3-1 in its last five games and has allowed seven power-play goals in that stretch.“It looks to me like we’re just not as quick as we were earlier,” Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar said after Monday’s loss. “We had some problems with clears for a while but that wasn’t a problem tonight. They score on a flank shot. We’re not blocking enough shots; we’re not in the shooting lanes enough. That’s two of the last three that have come from the flank on one-timers. We’re taking too many penalties, too.”Coaches claim the goaltender is the team’s best penalty killer and the Avalanche haven’t gotten that from No. 1 stopper Semyon Varlamov. He has allowed 21 goals in his last five starts and was pulled from two of those games. His goals-against average over the last five games is 5.32, but he won’t get the chance to improve on that Wednesday. Philipp Grubauer will start in net against Montreal.Colorado is also expected to get back forward Alexander Kerfoot after a four-game absence with an upper-body injury.“It looks like he should be good to play,” Bednar told hockeybuzz.com after Tuesday’s practice. “I just have to get confirmation (from the medical staff) that he’s in for sure.”The Canadiens made a roster move ahead of their six-game road trip with the recall of 20-year-old defenseman Victor Mete. Mete played 23 games before being sent to the AHL to build his confidence after some struggles.Montreal sent Noah Juulsen down to make room for Mete. WASHINGTON — After taking a few days off for the holidays, the Washington Capitals will look to keep their early season momentum going Thursday against the Carolina Hurricanes in a Metropolitan Division matchup. The Capitals have won seven of eight and 14 of their last 17 to take control of the division Drew Doughty Jersey , including a 4-0 victory over Ottawa on Dec. 23, and are winning thanks to contributions from every line. While Alexander Ovechkin and Evgeny Kuznetsov are the big scoring names, unheralded players such as Lars Eller and Brett Connolly have also stepped up to make Washington’s offense more lethal.“The coaching staff has a lot of faith in every single guy,” Connolly told The Washington Post. “We do have a lot of good depth and that’s definitely worked in our favor.”Article continues below ...Washington has 14 players with at least 10 points and five players with at least 10 goals, a testament to the kind of balance the Capitals are hoping to achieve from the top to bottom lines.“When you get guys down the lineup contributing, old, slow defenseman contributing, I think that’s good for team-building,” defenseman Matt Niskanen told reporters after Sunday’s game. With the Capitals coming off the holiday break, expect starter goaltender Braden Holtby to get the start between the pipes against the Hurricanes. He earned the victory in a wild 6-5 overtime contest when the teams faced off Dec. 14. In his career http://www.officialkings.com/authentic-adidas-dustin-brown-jersey , Holtby is 13-6-0 with a 2.09 goals-against average and .935 save percentage with two shutouts in 19 appearances against Carolina. The Hurricanes were victorious heading into their break, earning a 5-3 triumph over Boston on Sunday to end a brief, two-game skid. As evidenced by its 15-15-5 record, consistency has been an issue for Carolina. The Hurricanes continue to be carried by Sebastian Aho, who leads the team in goals (14) and assists (24), and is coming off a four-point effort in the win over Boston.“When you score, you get more confidence. That’s how it goes,” Aho told the team’s website. “I’m feeling pretty good right now, but it’s not just me.”Carolina coach Rod Brind’Amour was pleased with his team’s effort in the comeback win against Boston, and knows that a similar performance is needed if his team is to best the Capitals.“You could see from the start they were engaged Jake Muzzin Jersey , even when we got down, and it was nice to see,” Brind’Amour told reporters. “The level of engagement, really for 60 minutes, it was there.”The Hurricanes may turn to Petr Mrazek in net for Thursday’s contest after he picked up his sixth win of the season against Boston. Carolina has a way to go before it gets to Washington’s level of sustained excellence, but the Hurricanes are hoping to start with a win over the division leaders.“We can come back now feeling a little better,” forward Teuvo Teravainen said. “It’s still not where we want to be, but it’s getting better.”
