Topic: Chery showed the New Electric Crossover Chery S61

The Chinese brand has unveiled official images of its new electric crossover with the S61 index. The novelty, which is called the rival of the recently debuted Nissan Ariya, is based on a modern aluminum platform.

With the help of such a “trolley”, the manufacturer managed to reduce the weight of the car - “minus” 80 kilograms, when compared with a model of a similar construction made of steel. The new "truck" will eventually go to other Chery cars. The novelty is already being compared with the Nissan Ariya electric crossover presented the day before.

In terms of dimensions, the Chery new product is slightly superior to the competitor: the “Chinese” is 3.5 cm longer and six cm wider than the “Arya” (4630x1910x1650 mm, wheelbase - 2 630 mm).

Chery S61 gets a narrowed-down glazing line, LED optics, spectacular 20-inch wheels and so on. A large liquid crystal panel of two displays was placed in the cabin of the crossover - tidy and multimedia (both screens are 12.3 inches each). The gearbox selector is made in the spirit of Audi models.

The arsenal of the new electric car includes the unmanned ADAS complex, intelligent croise control, a special system that can recognize faces, and much more. In addition, Chery S61 supports 5G networks, remote control and update "over the air." There is no information about the motor. If we recall the patents, then the new crossover will get two electric motors - 163- and 177-horsepower.

On sale, the novelty should appear in the third quarter of this year, and, most likely, it will be renamed eQ5.
